금주의 묵상: 시편 40:1-17

본문: 요한복음 11:1-46

제목: 하나님의 눈물

        사도 바울은 고린도 교회에 있는 거듭난 성도들을 향하여 "누가 주의 생각을 알았다고 주를 가르치겠느냐? 그러나 우리는 그리스도의 생각을 가졌느니라."(고전 2:16) 고 증거했다. 다시 말해서 그 안에 계신 그리스도의 영을 통하여 그리스도와 같은 생각을 하게 되었다는 간증이다. 성경의 모든 말씀이 바로 그리스도의 생각이 담긴 책이기에 그리스도의 영이 있는 사람은 누구나 기도하면서 읽고 들으면 당연히 그분의 생각을 알게 되는 것이다. 그분의 생각을 아는 것이 이른 바 말씀을 깨닫는 것이 아니겠는가?

       오늘 본문에서 나사로의 누이 마리아와 그녀와 함께 온 유대인들이 나사로의 죽음으로 인해 우는 것을 보시고 예수께서 함께 우시고 계신다. 하나님께서 우시고 계신 것이다. 신약 성경 전체를 통하여 예수께서는 단 한 번만 기뻐하셨다. 칩십인 제자들이 말씀을 전파하고 기쁨으로 돌아와서 "주여, 주의 이름을 대면 마귀들까지도 우리에게 복종하더이다."(눅 10:17)라고 예수께 보고했을 때에 주님께서는 그들에게 "그러나 영들이 너희에게 복종하는 이것으로 기뻐하지 말고, 오히려 너희 이름이 하늘에 기록된 것으로 기뻐하라."(눅 10:20)고 말씀하시면서 바로 그 시간에 예수께서는 영으로 기뻐하셨다. 또한 아버지 하나님께 그 기쁨에 대하여 말씀하셨다: "오 하늘과 땅의 주이신 아버지여, 이런 일을 지혜롭고 슬기로운 사람들에게는 숨기시고 어린 아기들에게는 나타내신 것을 감사하나이다. 그러하옵니다. 아버지시여, 이는 그렇게 하시는 것이 아버지 보시기에 선함이니이다."(눅 10:21)

       사도 바울은 히브리인 성도들에게 예수께서 육신으로 이 땅에 계시는 동안 얼마나 고통스러우셨는지에 대하여 증거했다: "그는 육체로 계시는 날들 동안 자기를 사망에서 구원하실 수 있는 분께 심한 통곡과 눈물로 기도와 간구를 드렸고 하나님께서는 그의 두려워하심을 인하여 들으셨느니라."(히 5:7)

       그분께서는 마지막 십자가에서 죽으시기 직전까지도 겟세마네 동산에서 피땀을 흘리시면서 죄인들을 위하여 간구의 기도를 드리셨다. 누가는 그 순간에 대하여 분명하게 증거했다: "주께서 고뇌 속에서 더욱 간절히 기도하시니, 그의 땀이 핏방울처럼 되어 땅에 떨어지더라."(눅 22:44) 마태와 마가도 그 순간에 대하여 "내 혼이 심히 슬퍼 죽을 지경이라."(마 26:38, 막 14:34) 말씀하시고  얼굴을 땅에 대고 기도하며 말씀하시기를 "오 나의 아버지시여, 가능하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서. 그러나 내가 원하는 대로 하지 마옵시고 아버지께서 원하시는 대로 하옵소서."(마 26:39, 막 14:35,36)라고 기도하셨다고 증거했다.

         오늘 본문에서 나사로의 죽음 앞에서 울부짖는 사람들을 보시고 주님도 함께 우신다. 주님께서는 나사로가 병들어 죽게 될 것을 미리 아시고, 계시던 곳에 이틀을 더 머무르셨다. 그리고 나사로가 병들었다고 전해 온 사람에게 " 이 병은 죽음에 이르는 것이 아니라 하나님의 영광을 위한 것이라. 이는 하나님의 아들이 그 일로 인하여 영광을 받게 하려 함이라."(요 11:4)고 말씀하셨다.

       본문 말씀을 함께 읽은 우리 모두가 주님께서 왜 우셨는지 성령 안에서 예수님의 생각을 가지고 주님과 함께 울 수 있다면 축복된 시간이 될 것이다. 아무도 예수께서 우신 이유에 대하여 조목 조목 열거하면서 설명할 일이 아니며 그리스도의 생각을 성령 안에서 가지고 있는 거듭난 성도라면 이 지금 이 순간에도 수많은 사람들이 사랑하는 사람의 죽음 앞에서 울고 있는 통곡소리를 성령 안에서 들을 때에 주님께서 우시면서 눈물을 흘리신 그 눈물을 흘리게 될 것이다.

         주님께서 이 땅에 나타나시기 전 사천 년 동안 주님의 생각은 어떠하셨겠는가? 아담을 비롯하여 수천 수백억의 사람들이 영문도 모르고 죽어서 땅에 묻히는 것을 보셨을 것이다. 하늘에서 하나님께 처음으로 죄를 짓고 쫓겨난 마귀가 가져온 죄로 인해 그분께서 창조하신 아름다운 지구에 죄와 사망과 저주로 가득찬 속에서 온 땅 전체에서 모든 민족들이 사랑하는 사람들의 죽음 앞에서 통곡하는 소리를 들으시면서 사천 년을 지나셨을 것이다. 마침내 때가 되어 아버지께서 사람이 되어 땅에 가라는 말씀에 순종하시고 자신의 모든 영예를 버리시고 자신을 낮추시고 죽음에 까지 순종하심으로써 마침내 십자가에서 죽으셨다. 사도 바울은 빌립보 교회 성도들을 향하여 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 이 생각을 품으라고 권면했다(빌 2:5-8).  예수 그리스도를 통한 은혜로 구원받아 성령으로 거듭나서 그리스도의 영이 있는 사람은 누구나 그리스도 예수님의 이 생각을 품어야 하는 것이다. 이때에 예수님처럼 우는 자들과 함께 울 수 있는 것이다.

        창조주 하나님께서 사람이 되셨을 때 그분의 마음이 얼마나 답답하셨겠는가? 어떻게 자신이 하나님이심을 사람들로 하여금 알게 하실 수 있었겠는가? 그분께서는 어떤 사람도 할 수 없고 하난님만이 하실 수 있는 수많은 표적들을 행하심으로써 표적을 구하는 유대인들에게 자신을 나타내시려 하셨지만 나사로의 가족들같은 소수만이 그분이 그리스도이심을 알고 믿었던 것이다. 마르다는 예수님께 "나는 주께서 세상에 오실 그 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들이심을 믿나이다."(요 11:27)라고 고백했던 것이다. 예수께서는 나사로를 택하시어 하나님의 영광을 나타내시려고 계획하시고 잠시 그의 육체를 무덤 속에서 나흘 동인 썩음 속에 있게 하신 것이다.

        나사로가 죽은지 나흘이 되어 악취가 난다고 예수께 고한 마르다의 말 속에서 인간 역사 사천 년, 즉 하나님의 시간으로 나흘 동안 모든 사람들의 육체가 죽어 악취가 나서 온 땅이 시체들의 냄새로 가득한 가운데 소생할 소망이 없었던 땅에 다섯째 날에 나타나신 예수께서 마르다 뿐만 아니라 죽음 가운데 있는 온 땅을 향하여 선포하셨다: "나는 부활이요, 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살 것이며 또 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 누구나 영원히 죽지 아니하리라. 네가 이것을 믿느냐?"(요 11:25) 예수께서는 큰 소리로 "나사로야, 나오너라."고 말씀하셨을 때 손발이 수의로 동여지고 얼굴이 수건으로 가려진 채 무덤에서 걸어나왔다.

주님께서는 일찍이 유대인들에게 앞으로 있게 될 부활의 날에 대하여 미리 말씀하셨다: "이를 이상하게 여기지 말라. 무덤 속에 있는 모든 자들이 그의 음성을 들을 때가 오나니 선을 행한 자는 생명의 부활로, 악을 행한 자는 저주의 부활로 나오리라."(요 5:28,29)

        예수께서는 조만간 있을 휴거의 때에 대하여 사도 바울이 증거한 것처럼, 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고 (마지막 나팔소리가 나면 눈깜짝하는 순간에 죽은 자들이 썩지 않는 몸으로 일으켜지며) 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리라 (그리고 나서 살아남아 있는 우리도 공중에서 주를 만나기 위하여   변화되리라.)고 말씀하신 것이다.

      이 땅에 오셔서 평생을 무지한 죄인들을 보시면서 울고 통곡하시던 주님께서 지금은 대제사장으로서 하나님 아버지 보좌 오른 편에 앉으셔서 우리를 위하여 중보하고 계신다. 또한 성령으로 우리 안에 계신다. 은혜로 구원받아 성령으로 거듭난 사람은 주님의 명령대로 이제는 자신을 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지면서 아직도 주 예수 그리스도를 모르는 사람들을 위하여 그리스도의 생각을 가지고 죽음 앞에서 슬퍼하는 사람들과 함께 울면서 부활이요 생명이신 그분을 전해야 하는 것이다.   세상을 바라보시면서 우시던 그리스도의 눈물은 지금도 성령께서 내주하시는 거듭난 그리스도인들을 통하여 나타나게 되는 것이다.  그러므로 거듭난 그리스도인이라면 누구나 사도 바울이 증거한 삶을 살아야 하는 것이다: "내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못박혀 있으나 그럼에도 나는 살아있노라. 그러나 내가 사는 것이 아니요, 그리스도께서 내 안에 사시는 것이라. 내가 이제 육신 안에서 사는 삶은 나를 사랑하시어 나를 위해 자신을 주신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음으로 사는 것이라."(갈 2:20)

       예수께서는 자신을 십자가에 못박고 수십년 후에 로마의 티투스에 의하여 돌 위에 돌 하나 남지 않고 다 무너져버리고 황폐하게 될 예루살렘을 향하여 슬퍼하시며 우셨다. 그때가 되면 원수들이 예루살렘 주위에 방벽을 쌓고 포위하여 사방에서 가두고 유대인들과 그들의 자식들까지 땅에 내어칠 것이라고 말씀하시면서 예루살렘 도성을 바라보시면서 우셨다 (마 23:37-39, 눅 13:34,35; 19:41-44).

         지금 주님께서 하늘에서 이 지구를 바라보시면서 같은 눈물을 흘리시고 계실 것이다. 그분을 믿지 않는 유대인들과 이방인들과 거듭나지 못한 교회 안에 있는 종교인들이  로마 티투스보다 더 악한 적그리스도와 거짓선지자에 의하여 무참하게 핍박을 받고 죽임을 당할 대환란을 바라보시면서 얼마나 슬퍼하시겠는가? 말로는 예수님을 그리스도라 부르면서도 그리스도께서 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 이 땅에 조만간 오셔서 그분의 왕국을 세우실 것을 믿지도 않고 전하지도 않고 있는 주의 종들을 보고 얼마나 우시겠는가? 주님께서 자신이 왕으로 오셔서 통치하실  천년왕국을 믿지 않고 원치도 않는 자들에 대하여 말씀하셨다: "내가 왕이 되어 자기들을 통치하는 것을 원치 않는  내 원수들을 끌어내어, 내 앞에서 죽이라."(눅 19:27)

   믿음 없는 마르다를 향하여 주님께서 말씀하셨다: "만일 네가 믿으면 하나님의 영광을 볼 것이라고 내가 너에게 말하지 아니하였느냐?"(요 11:40) 지금 이 순간 아직도 부활이요 생명이신 주 예수 그리스도를 믿지 못하는 사람들을 향해서 주님께서는 우시고 계신다. 주님의 안타까운 울음 소리가 들리지 않는가? 지금이 바로 구원 받을 때요 은혜 받을 시간인 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 40:1-17

Main subject: John 11:1-46

Subject: Tear of God

        Apostle Paul spoke unto the saints of Corinthians, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."(1Cor. 2:16) In other word, they that have the Spirit of Christ are supposed to have the same mind as Christ without any doubt. All the words written in the scriptures are the mind of Christ; therefore whosoever has the Spirit of Christ could read the mind of Christ through prayer and reading and hearing. To know the mind of Christ is to understand his words.

       In the main passage, upon seeing Mary, the sister of Lazarus and other Jews weeping because of death of Lazarus, Jesus is weeping. When the seventy disciples came back with joy from preaching the word of God and reported him saying, "Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name."(Luke 10:17)  Then, Jesus spoke unto them, "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."(Luke 10:20) Then, Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and spoke unto the Father of his joy saying, "I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight."(Luke 10:21) Only one time Jesus rejoiced in the whole  books of the New Testament.

        Apostle Paul testified unto the Hebrews how much Jesus suffered during his life in flesh in the earth: "Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; "(Heb. 5:7)

Jesus made prayer with supplication for the sinners at Gethsemane shedding bloody sweat until the last moment of his death. Luke testified of this: "And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground."(Luke 22:44)

Matthew and Mark also testified of the last moment of Jesus: "My soul is exceeding sorrowful."(Matt. 26:38, Mark 14:34) "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."(Matt. 26:39, Mark 14:35,36)

       In the main passage, seeing the people crying and weeping before the death of Lazarus, Jesus is weeping together with them. Jesus foreknew, Lazarus was sick to death, but he stayed two more days where he was staying. Jesus spoke unto the man who came form the sisters of Lazarus:

"This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby."(John 11:4)

       We have read the main passages given unto us; it will be blessing for us, if we weep knowing the mind of Jesus in the Spirit understanding why Jesus wept. We don't have to list the reason why Jesus wept, for they that are born of the Spirit must have the mind of Christ Jesus so that they could hear the strong crying of them before the death of their lovers, and they shall be also weeping.

       Have you ever imagined the mind of the Lord for four thousand years before he appeared in the earth? He must have seen more than tens and hundreds millions of people including Adam had died and buried without the reason why they had to die.  Jesus must have spent his four thousands years in heaven hearing strong crying of all the nations of people before the death of their loving ones in the midst of sin and death and curses in the beautiful earth created by him, because of the devil that sinned in the beginning, and cast out of heaven.  When the time was fulfilled, obeying his Father that asked him to go down the earth in the form of man, Jesus made himself of no reputation, and humbled himself , and died on the cross.. Apostle Paul encouraged the Philippians let the mind of Christ in them (Phil. 2:5-8). Whosoever is saved by the grace of Jesus Christ to be born of the Spirit has to have the mind of Christ. Then they can weep with them that weep as Jesus.

        When God the Creator became a man, how much troubled in his heart? How could he manifest himself as God so that men could believe on him as the Lord? Even though he showed innumerable signs that only God can do unto the Jews that seek signs, only a few as the family of Lazarus believed on him as the Christ. Martha confess unto Jesus saying, "Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world."(John 11:27) Jesus chose Lazarus to glorify God the Father so that he put him in the tomb for four days until his body was corrupted.

       As Martha spoke unto Jesus of stinking Lazarus for four days in the tomb, all fleshes had been dead four thousand years that is four days for God unto corruption filled in all the earth without any hope for revival. Finally, in the fifth day, Jesus appeared in the earth, and proclaimed not only unto Martha, but also unto all the earth saying, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever Liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"(John 11:25,26)

When Jesus cried with loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." He that was dead came forth with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with napkin. Earlier Jesus had spoken of the day of resurrection unto the Jews:

"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."(John 5:28,29)

       As Apostle Paul testified of the day of Christ, Jesus testified of the same thing to come to pass saying, " he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”(the last trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible) and " whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die"(we that live shall be changed to see the Lord  in the air).

       Jesus had been crying strongly in the earth in the sympathy with ignorant sinners while he was in the earth; now he is interceding for us sitting at the right hand of  God the Father as the High Priest. At the same time, he is dwelling in us in the Spirit. Therefore, whosoever is saved and born of the Spirit has to deny himself and take up his own cross as the commandment of the Lord; and has to weep with the souls ignorant of Jesus with the mind of Christ, and preach the Lord Jesus that is the resurrection and life. Even now the tear of Christ Jesus toward the world is supposed be manifested through the born again Christians. Therefore, whosoever is born of the Spirit has to live as Apostle Paul as he testified:

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."(Gal. 2:20)

       Jesus wept toward the city of Jerusalem that should be destroyed by Roman general Titus tens years after they crucify him not leaving one stone upon another. Jesus said, the day shall come upon them, that their enemies shall cast a trench about them, and compass them round and keep them in on every side; and shall lay them even with the ground, and their children within it.(Matt. 23:37-39, Luke 13:34,35; 19:41-44)

       Jesus must be weeping with the same tear looking down the earth. How much he is grieving himself toward the Jews that not believe in him, and the Gentiles, and innumerable church members that are not born of the Spirit? For they shall be persecuted and killed by the Antichrist  and the false prophet much worse than Titus in the Great Tribulation. How much is he grieving because of his servants who are calling him as Christ, but not believe in Jesus Christ that shall come to the earth sooner or later as Lord of Lords, and  King of Kings to establish his kingdom in the earth? Jesus spoke of them that not believe in his Millennium, and neither want him to reign in the earth:" But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."(Luke 19:27)

       Jesus spoke unto Martha of no faith, "If thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"(John 11:40)

Even at this moment, the Lord Jesus is weeping for them that not believe in him that is resurrection and life. Aren't you hearing his weeping? This is the very time for salvation and grace. Amen! Hallelujah!
