금주의 묵상: 시편 93:1-5

본문: 출애굽기 31:12-17

제목: 안식일들과 예수 그리스도의 천년왕국

       본문 말씀은 하나님의 종 모세가 십계명이 기록된 돌판을 받으려고 시내 산에 올라갔을 때 주 하나님께서 모세에게 직접하신 말씀이다. 특별히 본문 말씀은 안식일에 대한 말씀이다. 하나님께서는 모세에게 이 말씀을 주시면서 분명하게 하신 것은 그분의 말씀을 세상에 있는 어떤 다른 민족이 아니고 단지 이스라엘 자손에게 고하라고 말씀하셨다:

"너희는 나의 안식일들을 참으로 지킬지니 이는 그것이 너희 대대에 걸쳐 나와 너 사이에 표적임이라. 이로써 내가 너희를 거룩하게 하는 주임을 너희로 알게 하려는 것이라. 그러므로 너희는 안식일을 지킬지니 이는 그것이 너희에게 거룩함이라. 그 날을 더럽히는 자는 모두 반드시 죽일지니라. 그 날에 일하는 자는 누구라도 그 혼이 자기 백성 가운데서 끊어지리라. 엿새 동안은 일할 것이나 일곱째 날은 주께 거룩히 쉬는 안식일이니, 안식일 날에 일하는 자는 누구라도 반드시 죽일지니라. 그러므로 이스라엘 자손은 안식일을 지킬지니, 그들 대대에 걸쳐 안식일을 지켜서 영속하는 언약을 삼을 것이며 그것이 나와 이스라엘 자손 사이에 영원히 표적이 되리라. 이는 엿새 동안 주께서 하늘과 땅을 지으시고 일곱째 날에는 쉬시어 숨을 돌리셨음이라. 하라."(출 31:13-17)

       그렇다. 안식일들은 오로지 이스라엘 자손들에게 주신 계명이다. 안식교 신자들이나 어떤 다른 계신교 신자들에게 주신 것이 아니다. 안식일을 이스라엘 자손이 아닌 어떤 사람이 자신이 받았다고 지키는 사람이 있다면, 무언가 착각하는 사람이 아니면 하나님께서 보시기에 자칭 유대인으로 여겨질 것이다. 밧모섬에 있던 사도 요한에게 나타나신 예수 그리스도께서 자칭 유대인에 대하여 경고의 말씀을 하셨다: "자칭 유대인이라고 말하는 그들의 모독을 아노니 그들은 유대인이 아니요 사탄의 회당이니라…보라, 자칭 유대인이라고 하지만 아니요, 오히려 거짓말하는 자들을 내가 사탄의 회당에 속한 자들로 만드리니, 보라, 내가 그들을 오게 하여 너희 발 앞에 경배하게 하여서, 내가 너를 사랑하는 것을 알게 하리라."(계 2:9; 3:9)고 스머나 교회와 필라델피아 교회에게 각각 말씀하셨다.

       성령께서 세상에 나타시기 전까지는 온 세상의 사람들은 육신적으로 노아의 세 아들인 셈과 함과 야벳 자손으로 태어났지만, 하나님께서 아브라함의 자손 가운데 야곱을 택하시어 그에게 이스라엘이라는 새 이름을 주신 후에는 이스라엘의 자손은 유대인이 되었고 그외에 유대인이 아닌 모든 민족들은 이방인이 되었다. 그후에 예수 그리스도께서 자신의 피를 통하여 세상 죄를 제거하시고 영원한 구속(영원히 죄값을 치르심)(히 9:14,15; 10:9-18)을 이루신 후 성령께서 오신 후부터는 유대인, 이방인 그리고 하나님의 교회, 이 세 가지 부류의 사람들로 나누어진 것이다. 하나님의 교회는 유대인이나 이방인이나 주 예수 그리스도의 복음을 믿고 그분을 영접하는 자마다 예수 그리스도의 피를 통하여 하나가 되어 하나님의 자녀요 그리스도의 신부가 되었다.

       사도 바울은 이에 대하여, "내가 그리스도의 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이는 이 복음이 믿는 모든 사람을 구원에 이르게 하는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라. 첫째는 유대인에게요, 또한 헬라인(이방인)에게로다."(롬 1:16)라고 증거했다. 또한 그는 고린도교회에 편지할 때, "유대인에게나 이방인에게나 하나님의 교회에게나 아무도 거치는 자가 되지 말라."(고전 10:32)라고 분명하게 증거했다. 그러니, 안식일에 대한 계명을 유대인이 아닌 자들이 받았다고 지킨다고 하는 사람이 있다면 분명히 그들은 유대인에 대하여 거치는 자가 될 것이다. 이런 연유로 사도 바울은 목회자요 교사인 아들 디모데에게 "네가 진리의 말씀을 올바로 나누어 자신이 하나님 앞에 부끄럽지 않은 일꾼으로 인정받도록 공부하라."(딤후 2:15)고 말씀한 것이다. 하나님의 교회의 목회자인 디모데에게 반드시 성경 말씀을 공부해야 한다는 것과 성경공부를 할 때 말씀을 올바로 나누어, 다시 말해서 잘 구분하여 공부하지 않으면 하나님 앞에 부끄러운 일꾼이 된다는 것이다.

       그렇다면, 진리의 말씀을 올바로 나눈다는 것이 무엇인가? 예를 들어서, 오늘 본문에서 안식일들에 대한 계명을 이스라엘 자손인 유대인들에게 주셨는데 이 계명을 하나님의 교회가 받았다고 가르치는 목회자나 성경 교사가 있다면 그는 분명히 하나님 앞에 부끄러운 일꾼이 된다는 것이다. 예수 그리스도가 그들의 메시야인 줄 알지 못하는 유대인들은 지금도 여전히 안식일을 열심히 지키고 있다. 그러나 유대인들 가운데 예수 그리스도를 믿어 성령으로 거듭난 유대인들은 이미 하나님의 교회가 되었기에 그들은 토요일마다 안식일을 지키지 않고 그날 밖에 나가서 유대인들에게 그리스도의 은혜의 복음을 증거하고 있는 것이다. 또한 그들은 유대인들이 먹는 코셔 음식(kosher meal)만을 먹지 않고 한국 음식이나 모든 다른 음식을 가리지 않고 먹는 것을 본다. 그들은 더 이상 율법에 순종하지 않고 하나님의 교회에게 주신 말씀에 순종하고 있는 것이다: "하나님께서 지으신 것은 모두가 좋은 것이요, 감사함으로 받으면 아무 것도 버릴 것이 없으니, 이는 하나님의 말씀과 기도로써 거룩하게 됨이라."(딤전 4:4,5)

         하나님께서는 모세에게 분명하게 말씀하신다. 안식일들은 하나님과 이스라엘 백성인 유대인들에게 영원한 표적이 된다는 것이다. 그렇다면, 표적(sign)이 무엇인가? 예수께서 육신으로 계실 때에 서기관과 바리새인들이 예수께 표적을 보기 원한다고 말했다. 그때 예수께서는 선지자 요나의 표적밖에는 줄 표적이 없다고 말씀하셨다 (마 12:38-40). 또한 그 당시 먹을 것 때문에 예수님을 찾는유대인들에게 예수께서 어떤 말씀을 하셨는가? "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 너희가 나를 찾는 것은 기적(표적)을 본 까닭이 아니라 빵을 먹고 배부른 까닭이라."(요 6:26)고 말씀하셨다.

       그렇다면, 표적이란 무엇인가? 현대 용어로 말한다면 "싸인"(sign)이다. 싸인이란 앞으로 나타날 아주 중요한 사실을 미리 보여주는 것이라 할 수 있는 것이다. 사람 사이에서도 서로 싸인을 주고 받으면서 상대방의 심중을 읽는 경우가 있다. 예수께서는 유대인들이 요나의 표적(싸인)을 깨닫고 유대인들이 자신의 죽으심과 부활하심을 믿어 영원한 생명을 받기를 원하셨던 것이다. 또한 빵을 찾는 그들이 자신이 하나님이심을 깨닫기를 원하셨던 것이다. 그러나 그들은 하늘에서 내려오신 인자를 못 알아보고 여전히 하늘로부터 오는 표적만을 구했던 것이다.

       유대인들은 여전히 그들에게 영원한 표적으로 주신 안식일들에 대하여 깨닫지 못하고 있으며 하나님의 교회들마져도 일요일에 예배드리는 것을 마치 안식일을 지키는 것처럼 생각하면서 주일 성수를 외치고 있는 것이다. 안식일이 무엇인지 깨달았던 초대 교회들은 안식 후 첫 날 부활하신 예수 그리스도를 기념하는 마음으로 일요일(태양신 섬기는 날)이 아닌 주의 첫날에 모였던 것이다. 그렇다면, 안식일들이 얼마나 중요한 날이었기에 그 날에는 불도 피울 수 없고(출 35:3) 일만하여도 죽임을 당해야(출 35:2) 했던 것인가? 이스라엘 백성들이 바벨론에 포로로 잡혀가 있을 때에 하나님께서 선지자 에스겔을 통하여 말씀하셨다: "나는 그들에게 내 안식일들도 주었으니 나와 그들 사이에 표적이 되게 하고 그들로 내가 그들을 거룩하게 하는 주인 줄 알게 하려는 것이라. 그러나 이스라엘 집이 광야에서 내개 반역하엿고 그들이 내 규례대로 행하지 아니하였으며 내 명령들을 멸시하였으니, 사람이 그것들을 행하면 그가 그것들로 살 것이라. 또 그들은 나의 안식일들을 크게 더럽혔도다. 그러므로 내가 말하기를 '내가 광야에서 내 진노를 그들 위에 부어 그들을 진멸하리라…또한 내가 광야에서 그들에게 내 손을 들어올려 말하기를 '내가 그들에게 주었던 땅, 즉 젖과 꿀이 흐르고 모든 땅의 영광인 곳으로 그들을 데려가지 아니하리라.' 하였으니 이는 그들이 나의 명령들을 멸시하고 내 규례를 따라 행하지 아니하며 오히려 내 안식일들을 더럽혔기 때문이요, 이는 그들의 마음이 그들의 우상들을 쫓아갔음이라.'(겔 20:12,13,15,16)

       유대인 사도 바울은 안식일이 어떤 표적인지를 깨닫고 히브리인들에게 분명하게 증거했다: '그러므로 그의 안식에 들어갈 약속이 우리에게 남아있는 이상, 너희 중에 혹 그것에 이르지 못할 자가 있을까 두려워해야 하리라. 복음을 전해 들은 것은 그들이나 우리나 마찬가지나, 전파된 말씀이 그들에게 유익을 주지 못한 것은, 그것을 들은 자들이 믿음을 결합시키지 못했기 때문이라. 이는 그 일이 세상의 기초가 놓인 때부터 완성되었을지라도, 그가 말씀하시기를 '내가 내 진노 중에 맹세하였거니와 '그들이 내 안식에 들어오려면'이라 하였도다.'라고 하신대로 믿는 우리가 안식에 들어감이라. 어느 곳에선가 하나님께서 일곱째 날에 그의 모든 일에서 쉬셨느니라.'고 하셨으며 여기에서 다시 '그들이 내 안식에 들어오려면'이라 하였도다. 그러므로 누군가 거기에 들어가야만 하는 일이 남아 있으나 먼저 복음을 들은 자들은 믿음 없을 인하여 들어가지 못한 것이라. 또 다시 오랜 세월 후에 어떤 날을 정하시어, 다윗 안에서 '오늘'이라 말씀하셨으니, '오늘 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든 너희 마음을 완악하게 하지 말라.'고 함과 같으니라. 만일 예수가 그들에게 안식을 주었더라면(그때는 여호수아가 안식을 주었다) 하나님께서 그 후에 다른 날을 말씀하지 아니하셨으리라. 그러므로 하나님의 백성(유대인)에게 한 안식이 남아 있도다. 그러므로 안식에 들어간 사람은 하나님께서 자기 일에서 쉬신 것같이 그도 자기 일에서 쉬었느니라."(히 4:1-10)

        하나님께서는 육일 (육천 년)동안 일하셨다. 그리고 일곱 째 날(일곱째 천년)에 오시면 사탄을 무저갱 속에 넣어 가두고(계 20:1-3) 쉬실 것이다. 그때가 되면 여호수아보다 더 크신 예수 그리스도께서 이스라엘 백성의 남은자들을 영원한 가나안 땅인 천년왕국으로 인도하실 것이다. 그러나 성령으로 거듭나서 하나님의 자녀가 된 사람들은 안에 내주하시는 주님과 더불어 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨을 누리며 주님과 함께 지금부터 영원한 안식을 누리는 것이다(롬 14;17). 그리고 예수 그리스도께서 대 환란 끝에 지상에 나타나실 때 그의 신부로서 이 땅을 통치할 통치자들로서 함께 천년왕국에서 영광을 받게 될 것이다. 이스라엘 백성에게 안식일들을 영원한 표적으로 주신 것은 그들이 비록 휴거되지 못하고 대 환란에 들어가게 될지라도 영원이 시작되는 천년왕국에 들어갈 약속을 잊지 말고 끝까지 견디어(마 24:13) 영원한 하나님의 안식일인 그리스도의 왕국에서 제사장 민족이 되는 축복을 놓치지 말라는 영원한 표적으로 주신 것이다. 그러므로, 구약에서 출애굽기, 레위기, 예레미야, 이사야, 다니엘, 에스겔 등에서 안식일들에 대한 말씀을 수없이 유대인들에게 주셨던 것이다. 지금 하나님의 안식에 들어가 있는가? 다시 말해서 성령 안에서 하늘나라가 마음 속에 이루어졌는가? 그러므로 유대인들도 지금 예수 그리스도를 믿어 영접하여 그분께서 주시는 영원한 안식에 들어가야 하는 것이다. 이것이 바로 그들에게 복음을 전해야 하는 이유인 것이다. 이로 인하여 사도 바울은 골로새에 있는 그리스도인들에게 "음식으로나 마시는 것으로나 거룩한 날이나 새 달이나 안식일들에 관해서는 아무도 너희를 판단하지 못하게 하라. 이런 것들은 다가올 그림자이나 몸은 그리스도의 것이니라."(골 2:16,17)고 증거했다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 93:1-5

Subject: Sabbaths and Millennium of Jesus Christ

        The LORD God spoke unto Moses directly, when Moses went up mount Sinai to receive the tables of stone written of Ten Commandments:

"Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed."(Ex. 31:13-17)

       Yea! Sabbaths are the commandment only given unto the children of Israel; never given unto the church of Seventh Adventist or any other Christian churches at all. If anyone not a Jew says, he received the commandment of Sabbaths to keep them, he must be confused so that he shall be considered as he says himself, but not a Jew before God. Jesus Christ appeared to Apostle John in the Island of Patmos, and spoke unto him of such kind of man:

"I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan…… Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."(Rev. 2:9, 3:9)

       Before the Holy Ghost was sent to the world, all the people in the earth had been born in the three children of Noah that are Shem, Ham and Japheth. But since God has chosen Jacob, grand son of Abraham to give him a new name as Israel, the children of Israel had become the Jew; and the other nations of people became as the Gentiles. Afterwards, Jesus Christ took away the sin of the world through his blood to make eternal redemption (to pay the sin of the world eternally) (Heb. (;14,15; 10:9-18); and the Holy Ghost came to the world in his name. Since then, there have been living three kinds of people such as the Jew, the Gentiles and the church of God. And the church of God has been consisting of the Jew or the Gentiles whosoever believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive him; and they have been in one through the blood of Jesus Christ as the children of God as well as the bride of Christ.

       Apostle Paul testified of this:

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."(Rom. 1:16)

And he wrote an epistle unto the church of Corinthians saying,

"Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:"(1Cor. 10:32)

Therefore, if anyone insists that the commandment of Sabbaths has been given unto anyone other than the Jew, he shall be ended up giving offence to the Jews. In this reason, Apostle Paul spoke unto Timothy who is a pastor and teacher: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."(2Tim. 2:15) What he meant is that Timothy as a pastor of the church of God should study the word of God of the truth dividing the word of truth rightly so that he may not be a ashamed.

        Then, how the word of truth should be divided rightly? Taking an example, if any minister teaches that the commandment of Sabbaths is given unto the church of God not only unto the Jews, he shall be a ashamed servant of the Lord before God. The Jews that are ignorant of Jesus Christ not knowing him as their Messiah are still keeping the Sabbaths with passion. But the Jews that are born of the Spirit through believing on Jesus Christ as their Messiah are now belong to the church of God. Therefore they spread the gospel of Christ on every Saturday unto the Jews instead of keeping the Sabbaths; and they enjoy to eat not only Kosher meals but also all other meal such as Korean food or nay other food as well.

Now they like obey not the law but the word of God given unto the church of God as said:

 "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."(1Tim. 4:4,5)

       The LORD God spoke unto Moses clearly; Sabbaths are the sign between God and the children of Israel for ever. Then, what is the sign? The Pharisees and the Scribes wanted Jesus to see the sign; then Jesus gave them only one sign of Jonah (Matt. 12:38-40) How Jesus spoke them that were looking for food?

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled"(John 6:26)

         The sign is shown to be prepared for something very important to come in the future. Even between men, someone can show a sigh to reveal something very important from his heart so that the other party may be able to read his heart. Jesus wanted the Jew to understand the sign of Jonah, and believe on him to receive the eternal life through his death and resurrection.

And Jesus also wanted the people that are only looking for bread to understand him as God. But unfortunately they continued to see the sign from heaven not knowing him as the Son of man.

        The Jews still not understand what  are Sabbaths that were given as the eternal sign; even the churches of God consider their worship service on Sunday as keeping the Sabbath, and encourage their congregation to keep on Sunday service as the Sabbath. The early churches of God understood the Sabbaths; and they gathered together to worship on the first day of the week not on Sunday as the day of worshipping the Sun to remember the day of resurrection of Christ that rose again in the first day after the Sabbath. In the day of Sabbath, the Jews are to kindle no fire at all (Ex. 35:3), and whosoever  does work therein shall be put to death (Ex. 35:2). The LORD God spoke unto the Jews through prophet Ezekiel when the Jews were in captivity in Babylon:

"But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them…. Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols."(Ez. 20:12,13,15,16)

        Apostle Paul as a Jew testified unto the Hebrew very clearly of the Sabbaths:

"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest (At that time Joshua gave them rest), then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his."(Heb. 4:1-10)

       God has worked for six days (six thousand years); and he will come back to the earth in the seventh day (seventh thousand years) to put Satan into the bottomless pit to rest himself (Rev. 20:1-3). Then Jesus Christ that is much more great than Joshua shall lead the remnant of Israel into his Millennium that is the eternal land of Canaan. On the other hand, the children of God born of the Spirit is already resting eternally in the kingdom of God that is righteousness and peace and joy in the Spirit (Rom. 14:17) even before Jesus Christ come back to the earth. And when Jesus Christ appears to the earth at the end of the Great Tribulation, they shall be glorified as they reign with Christ as his bride in his Millennium. The reason why God gave the Jews the Sabbaths as the eternal sign with God is that even though they shall be passing through the Great Tribulation not be raptured because they rejected Jesus Christ, they have to endure unto the end (Matt. 24:13) to be blessed as the priests of God in the kingdom of God in the earth. Therefore, The LORD God had given unto them continuously of the Sabbaths through the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel and so on.

         Are you in the rest of God in the Spirit? In other word, the kingdom of God is in you in the Spirit? This is the reason why the Jews have to believe on Jesus Christ now to enter into the eternal Sabbath. This is the very reason why we have to preach the gospel of grace unto them. Apostle Paul testified unto the Colossian Christians of the Sabbaths:

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:

Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."(Col. 2:16,17) Amen! Hallelujah!
