금주의 묵상: 시편 46:1-11

본문: 디모데후서 2:1-5

제목: 그리스도의 심판석에서 면류관을 받도록 규칙대로 경기하고 있는가?

      사도 바울은 영적 아들이며 목회자인 디모데에게 예수 그리스도의 훌륭한 군사로서 고난을 견뎌내라는 권면을 하고 있다. 또한 군사는 영적 전쟁터에서 전쟁을 하는 자이며 전쟁에 임하는 자는 이생의 일들에 얽매이지 않는다고 증거하고 있다. 또한 이 전쟁에서 이기려면 규칙대로 하여야 하며 규칙대로 한 사람에게만 면류관이 주어진다고 증거하고 있는 것이다.

      어떤 사람이 면류관을 쓰는가? 왕들만이 면류관을 쓰는 것이다. 면류관은 왕관이기 때문이다. 인류 역사 육천 년 동안 이 세상 썩을 면류관을 쓰려고 수없이 많은 사람들이 얼마나 피터지게 싸워왔던가? 사도 요한은 예수 그리스도의 군사가 되어 마귀가 통치하는 이 땅에서 훌륭한 군사로서 고난을 견뎌낸 그리스도인들이 사령관이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 이 땅을 통치하시려고 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 내려오실 때 그분을 따라 내려오는 광경을 성령 안에서 미리 보고 증거했다: "또 하늘에 있는 군대들은 희고 정결한 세마포를 입고 흰말들을 타고 그를 따르더라."(계 19:14)

       사도 바울은 앞으로 그리스도의 군사들이 그리스도의 날인 휴거의 날에 그리스도의 심판석에서 면류관을 받게 되는 날에 있을 일에 대하여 증거했다: "내게 주신 하나님의 은헤에 따라 내가 현명한 건축가와 같이 기초를 닦았더니 다른 사람이 그 위에 지으니라. 그러나 각 사람은 그 위에다 어떻게 지을지 주의해야 할 것이라. 이 닦아 놓은 기초 위에 아무도 다른 기초를 놓을 수 없나니 이 기초는 예수 그리스도시라. 이제 누구든지 이 기초 위에 금이나 은이나 보석이나 나무나 짚이나 그루터기로 지으면 각 사람의 일한 것이 나타나게 되리니 그 날이 그것을 밝힐 것이라. 이는 그것이 불로써 드러나고 또 그 불은 각 사람의 일한 것이 어떤 종류인지를 시험할 것이기 때문이라. 만일 어떤 사람의 일한 것이 세운 그대로 있으면 그는 상을 받을 것이요, 만일 어떤 사람의 일한 것이 불타 버리면 그는 손해를 당하리라. 그러나 그 자신은 구원을 받게 되지만 불에 의해서인 것처럼 그렇게 되리라."(고전 3:10-15)

         면류관은 금,은, 보석으로 장식된다. 이 세상의 썩을 면류관은 규칙대로 싸우지 않아도 잠시 동안 차지할 수 있는 것이지만 주 예수 그리스도와 함께 통치하는 면류관은 썩지 않는 영원한 것이다. 이 세상의 면류관은 땅에 떨어져서 타 버리는 면류관이지만 예수 그리스도께서 주시는 면류관은 영원히 떨어지지 않고 타지 않는 면류관인 것이다.

       "금"은 하나님의 신성을 상징한다. 그러므로 성막이나 성전 안에 있는 모든 기명들은 순금으로 씌워졌던 것이다. 그리스도의 군사들은 육신적으로는 비록 연약하지만 하나님만을 전적으로 신뢰하는 믿음으로 온전히 씌워질 때 타지 않는 주님의 일을 하게 되는 것이다.

     "은"은 성경에서 하나님의 말씀을 상징한다. 다윗 왕은 성령의 기름부음 가운데 하나님의 말씀에 대하여 증거했다: "주의 말씀들은 순수한 말씀들이라. 흙 도가니에서 단련되어 일곱 번 정화된 은 같도다."(시 12:6)

그렇다! 얼마나 많은 그리스도의 군사들이 하나님의 말씀을 전파하다가 순교의 제물이 되었는가? 히브리어, 헬라어, 아람어, 라틴어, 독일어를 거쳐서 1611년에 마침내 영국의 제임스 왕에 의하여 최초로 영어 권위역본이 출판된 이후 일곱 번째로 여러나라 언어로 번역되어 온 땅에 퍼져나갔을 때 이 하나님의 말씀들이 사탄의 신부인 로마 교회를 통해 얼마나 많은  박해를 받았으며 이로 인해 얼마나 많은 그리스도인들이 순교의 제물이 되었던가?

     그렇다면 보석에 대하여 성경은 어떻게 말씀하시는가? 이스라엘 대제사장의 흉배에 붙이는 열두 보석은 이스라엘 열두 지파를 상징하였으며, 그리스도의 신부가 살 곳인 새 예루살렘의 기초석도 열두 보석으로 되어있다고 사도 요한이 증거했다. 선지자 스카랴는 하나님께서 그 날, 즉 대 환란 끝에 이스라엘 백성들을 양무리처럼 구원하셔서 그들이 면류관의 보석들처럼 되어 그의 땅에 깃발처럼 들려올려질 것이라고 예언했다(슥 9:16). 그러므로 보석은 앞으로 하나님의 백성들과 하나님의 자녀들의 모습을 상징하는 것이다. 비록 지금은 이스라엘 백성이 밭, 즉 세상에 숨겨진 보물과 같지만 하나님께서 기쁨으로 가서 자기의 모든 소유를 팔아 그 밭(세상)을 샀다고 예수께서 천국의 신비에 대하여 말씀하셨다(마 13:44). 뿐만 아니라 모든 이방인들까지도 보석으로 만드시기 위하여 예수 그리스도께서 자신의 모든 피와 물을 쏟으시고 밭을 사신 것이다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여 "너희는 값을 치르고 산 것이니 그러므로 하나님의 것인 너희 몸과 영으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라."(고전 6:20)고 증거했다. 보석으로 집을 짓는다는 것은 분명 유대인들과 그리스도인들을 하나님의 말씀으로 섬겨서 보석처럼 빛나게 만드는 일인 것을 알 수 있는 것이다.

       성경은 다섯 가지 면류관에 대하여 말씀하고 있다. 그리고 그 면류관을 받으려면 성경 말씀에 있는 규칙대로 해야하는 것이다. 그 면류관들은 마음만 굳게 먹으면 누구나 받을 수 있는 것들이다. 성령께서 사도들을 통하여 면류관에 대하여 아주 쉽고 분명하게 말씀하셨다.

       사도 바울은 의의 면류관(crown of righteousness)을 받을 자에 대하여 증거했다: "내가 선한 싸움을 싸우고 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니 이후로는 나를 위하여 의의 면류관이 마련되어 있어 의로운 재판관이신 주께서 그 날에 그것을 내게 주실 것이며 또 나뿐만 아니라 그의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 사람에게도 주실 것이라.'(딤후 4:7,8) 그의 나타나심은 그의 신부인 교회를 하늘로 들려올리실 그 날인 것이다. 그 날은 사모하는 모든 사람에게 주실 것이다. 우리도 사도 바울처럼 의의 면류관이 예비되었다고 말할 수 있어야 하지 않겠는가?

        사도 바울은 빌립보 교회와 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게 편지할 때 기쁨의 면류관(crown of rejoicing)에 대하여 증거했다: "그러므로 나의 참으로 사랑하고 사모하는 형제들아, 나의 기쁨이요 면류관인, 나의 참으로 사랑하는 자들아, 주 안에서 이처럼 굳게 서라…우리의 소망이나, 기쁨이나 자랑의 면류관이 무엇이냐? 그가 오실 때 우리 주예수 그리스도 앞에 있을 너희가 아니겠느냐?"(빌 4;1, 살전 2;19)

그렇다! 사도 바울은 자신이 복음을 전해서 얻은 형제 자매들이 그의 면류관이라고 말하고 있는 것이다. 이 땅에서 복음을 전하는 자에게 주시는 면류관이니 이 면류관을 놓치겠는가? 입을 열어 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 장사되심 그리고 셋째 날에 부활하신 복음을 전하기만 하면 되는 것이다. 그 다음은 성령께서 능력으로 역사하셔서 죄인들을 구원하시는 것이다. 전도가 어려운가? 아니면 내 마음이 어려운가?

       사도 바울은 고린도 교회에 편지할 때 썩지 않는 면류관에 대하여 증거했다: "경기장에서 달리는 사람들이 모두 달릴지라도 한 사람만이 상을 받는 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 그러므로 너희도 상을 얻게 되도록 달리라. 이기려고 애쓰는 사람은 누구나 모든 일에 자제하나니 이제 그들은 썩어질 면류관을 받으려 하지만 우리는 썩지 않을 면류관을 받고자 함이라."(고전 9:24,25) 올림픽 경기에 출전하는 선수가 어떤 모습으로 나타나는가는 누구나 잘 알고 있다. 그들은 아주 간단한 차림의 유니폼만 입고 나온다. 어떤 거추장스런 것도 없다. 이 썩을 면류관인 금메달을 얻기 위하여 그들은 사 년 동안 얼마나 절제하는 삶을 사는가? 사도 바울은 하늘에 면류관을 받은 "이처럼 많은 구름같은 증인들이 또한 우리를 둘러싸고 있으니 우리 또한 모든 무거운 것과 쉽게 에워싸는 죄를 벗어버리고, 인내로 우리 앞에 놓인 경주를 하자. 그리고 우리 믿음의 창시자요 완성자이신 예수를 바라보자. 그는 자기 앞에 놓인 즐거움을 위하여 십자가를 견디시고 수치를 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님의 보좌 오른편에 앉으셨느니라." (히 12:1,2)고 히브리인 그리스도인들에게 권면했다.

         사도 야고보와 사도 요한은 생명의 면류관에 대하여 증거했다: "시험을 이겨내는 자는 복이 있나니 이는 그가 시련을 거친 후에 주께서 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 생명의 면류관을 받을 것이기 때문이라….죽기까지 신실하라. 그러면 내가 네게 생명의 면류관을 주리라."(약 1:12,계 2:10) 생명의 면류관은 하나님께서 사랑하는 자들에게 주시는 것이며 그분께서 사랑하는 자는 모든 시련을 거친 후에 죽는 순간까지 믿음을 지키는 신실한 자에게 주시는 것이다. 이 생명의 면류관은 순교자에게만 주시는 것이 아닌 것이다. 아무리 선교사가 되어 선교지에서 죽을지라도 시련을 견뎌내지 못하고 신실하지 않으면 받을 수 없는 것이다. 평생을 휠체어에 앉아 보내는 사람일지라도 그 모든 장애를 믿음으로 견디면서 감사하고 죽는 순간까지 신실할 때 받을 수 있는 것이 생명의 면류관인 것이다. 얼마나 위로가 되는가?

     마지막으로 사도 베드로는 시들지 않는 영광의 면류관에 대하여 증거했다: "내가 너희 가운데 있는 장로들에게 권하노니 나도 장로된 자요, 그리스도의 고난의 증인이며, 또한 장차 나타나게 될 영광에 동참하게 될 자라. 너희 가운데 있는 하나님의 양무리를 치고 돌보되 마지 못하여 하지 말고 자원함으로 하며 더러운 이익을 위하여 하지 말고 준비된 마음으로 하여 하나님께서 맡겨주신 자들을 지배하려 하지 말고 오직 양무리의 본이 되라. 그리하여 목자장이 나타나실 때 너희가 시들지 않는 영광의 면류관을 받으리라."(벧전 5:1-4) 잠시잠간 후면 주님께서 오실 것이다. 마지막 남은 믿음의 길을 끝까지 달려 면류관을 얻도록 힘써야 할 것이다. 그리하여 영원히 후회하지 않을 삶을 살기위한 결단을 해야 하지 않겠는가? 믿음은 하나님이 존재하시는 것과 그분이 자기를 열심히 찾는 자들에게 보상하시는 분이심을 마땅히 믿어야 하는 것이다(히 11:6). 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 46:1-11

Subject: Are you striving lawfully to receive crowns at the judgment seat of Christ?

        Apostle Paul encourages Timothy, a pastor as well as his spiritual son to endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. He also testifies him that the spiritual soldier is in the spiritual warfare; no man that wars entangle himself with the affairs of this life; and if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

       Who is supposed to be crowned? Only kings are crowned. How many people have been killing one another shedding blood to obtain corruptible crowns in six thousands years of human history? Apostle John testified in the Holy Ghost of the soldiers of Jesus Christ that are coming to the earth following the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords to reign with him, because they endured hardness with the commander in this world:

"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle."(Rev. 19:14)

       Apostle Paul testified of the soldiers of Jesus Christ that shall be crowned at the judgment seat of Christ in the day of Christ, that is the day of Rapture: "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."(1Cor. 3:10-15)

       Crown is decorated with gold, solver and precious stones. The corruptible crowns could be worn even unlawfully for a moment, but the crown from Jesus Christ is incorruptible forever. The crowns in the world shall be fallen to be burnt, the crown given by Jesus Christ shall never be fallen neither be burnt.

       "Gold" is the symbol of divinity of God. This is the reason why all the things inside of the tabernacle and the temple of God were covered with pure gold. The soldiers of Christ are weak physically, but they are strong to perform the work of the Lord when they are covered with faith of God.

      "Silver" is the symbol of the words of God. King David testified of the word of God in the anoint of the Holy Ghost:

 "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."(Ps. 12:6)

Yea! How many soldiers of Christ have been martyred because they preached the word of God? The word of God has been tried seven times in the midst of written in Hebrew, Greek, Syrian, Latin, German and English at the time of King James AD1611 as the authorized version; and finally many languages translated from King James Version. How much the Roman church that is the bride of Satan has been persecuted Christians to death, because only they have the King James Bible?

        Then, how the scriptures are speaking of the precious stones? The twelve precious stones in the breastplate of the high priest were the symbol of twelve tribes of Israel. The twelve foundation of the New Jerusalem are made of twelve precious stones as testified by Apostle John. Prophet Zechariah prophesied of the People of Israel at the end of the Great Tribulation saying, " The LORD their God shall save them in that they as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land."(Zech. 9:16).

The precious stone is the symbol of the people of Israel as well as the children of God in the future when Jesus Christ come again. Even though the people of Israel look like the treasure hid in a field (the world)now, a man (Jesus Christ) sells all his possessions to buy it; this is the mystery of the kingdom of heaven as testified by Jesus (matt. 13:44). More than that, Jesus Christ bought the field shedding his blood to make the Gentiles also as the precious stones. Apostle Paul testified of this:

"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."(1Cor. 6:20)

To build the house with the precious stones is to minister the Jews and the gentiles with the words of God to make them shine as the precious stones.

      The word of God testifies of five different crowns. To receive those crowns, we have to strive lawfully according to the scriptures. It is not that difficult to receive them only if we want them in our heart. The Holy Ghost explains about the crowns in the way of straight forward and clearly through the Apostles.

       Apostle Paul testified of the crown of righteousness:

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."(2Tim. 4:7,8) His appearing is the day of Rapture when the bride of Christ are translated to heaven. Whosoever  love his appearing shall receive it. We should be able to say, the crown of righteousness is laid up for me as Apostle Paul.

       Apostle Paul testified of the crown of rejoice when he wrote unto the saints of Philippians and Thessalonians:

"Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved…. For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?"(Phil. 4:1, 1Thes. 2:19)

Yea! Apostle Paul called the brothers and sisters as his crown who were saved through him. The crown of rejoice is to be given unto them that preach the gospel to win souls. We only have to preach the gospel testifying Christ that died for our sins according to the scriptures, and buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. The Holy Ghost shall be manifested through his power to save sinners. Is the evangelism hard? Or, is our heart hard?

       Apostle Paul testified of the incorruptible crown when he wrote unto the church of Corinthians: "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible."(1Cor. 9:24,25)

How the Olympic athletes show up in the stadium? They are in simple uniform as possible as they can even in bare feet to lighten their body.

How much they strive for mastery in all things for four years to earn god medal as corruptible crown? Apostle Paul testified of them unto the Hebrew Christians that earned crowns in heaven:

 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."(Heb. 12:1,2)

         Apostle James and Apostle John testified of the crown of life:

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him….. be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."(Jam. 1:12, Rev. 2:10)

The crown of life is given unto them that God loves; and that endured temptation and faithful unto death. The crown of life is not only for the martyrs. Even though someone works as missionary in the mission field, if they not endure temptation and not be faithful unto death,  no crown of life is given unto them at all. Even someone is sitting on a wheel chair for all his life, if he give thanks to the Lord enduring temptation of the devil to be faithful unto death, the crown of life is his. What a comfort for him?

       Apostle Peter testified of the crown of glory that fades not away:

"The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."(1Pet. 5:1-4)

       Sooner or later, the Lord Jesus Christ is to come. We have to strive lawfully until we finish our course to earn the crowns. Today is the day when we make dedication again unto the Lord not to repent forever. What is faith? We must believe that God is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb. 11:6) Amen! Hallelujah!
