금주의 묵상: 시편 43:1-5

본문: 시편 42:1-11

제목: 우울증을이길수있는거듭난하나님의자녀

        본문 말씀에서 하나님의 사람이 낙심하여 우울해 하는 모습을 볼 수 있습니다. 예수 그리스도를 영접하여 성령으로 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들은 마귀의 손아귀로부터 나와서 영적인 하나님의 왕국에 들어갔습니다. 그러나 여전히 전과 다름 없는 죄악 세상에서 살아야 하는 것입니다. 영적으로는 죄와 사망의 법에서 해방되어 생명의 성령의 법 안으로 들어갔지만(롬 8:2) 육신은 여전히 죄와 사망의 법이 역사하는 세상에 살아야만 하는 것입니다. 혼은 구원을 받아 지옥이 아닌 천국으로 방향을 바꾸었지만 여전히 구원받은 혼도 죄의 몸 안에 거할 수 밖에 없는 것입니다.

        거듭난 하나님의 자녀들이 잊지 말아야 하는 한 가지 아주 중요한 진리가 있습니다. 이전에는 영,혼,육이 세상 안에 살면서 세상과 친구로서의 삶을 살았지만 이제는 세상과 원수가 되었고 예수 그리스도와 친구가 되었다는 사실입니다. 그러므로 이 세상 통치자인 마귀는 그의 사람들을 통하여 부단 없이 하나님의 자녀들을 시험하고 모욕하고 박해하려 하고 있다는 사실을 알이야 하는 것입니다. 주님께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다: “만일 너희가 세상에 속한다면 세상은 자기 사람들을  사랑할 것이라. 그러나 너희는 세상에 속한 자가 아니요 내가 너희를 세상으로부터 선택하였느니라. 이로 인하여 세상이 너희를 미워하느니라. ‘종이 자기 주인보다 더 위대하지 못하다.’ 고 너희에게 일렀던 나의 말을 기억하라. 만일 사람들이 나를 박해하였다면 너희도 박해하리라. 만일 사람들이 나의 말을 지켰다면 너희 말도 지키리라.”(요 15:19,20)

       주님께서 제자들에게 더 놀라운 말씀을 하셨습니다: “내가 세상에 화평을 주러 온 줄로 생각하지 말라. 나는 화평을 주러 온 것이 아니라 칼을 주러 왔노라. 내가 온 것은 사람이 그 아버지와, 딸이 그 어머니와, 며느리가 그 시어머니와 서로 대적하게 하려 함이니라. 사람의 원수들은 그의 가족 중에 있으리라. 아버지와 어머니를 나보다 더 사랑하는 사람은 나에게 합당치 아니하고, 아들이나 딸을 나보다 더 사랑하는 사람도 나에게 합당치 아니하며 또 자기 십자가를 지지 않고 나를 따르는 자도 나에게 합당치 아니하니라.”(마 10:34-38)

        옛날 다윗왕은 하나님의 영이 있었기 때문에 마귀에게 쓰임 받는 사울 왕과 자신의 자녀들로부터 엄청난 박해를 받았습니다. 심지어 자신이 가장 사랑하던 아들 압살롬은 자신이 왕이 되기 위하여 아버지 다윗을 죽일려고 위협했습니다. 시편말씀에 다윗이 당한 고난들이 수없이 기록되어 있습니다; 특히 시편 22편과 69편에서는 다윗이 당한 고난을 통하여 앞으로 다윗의 자손으로 세상에 나타나실 메시야이신 예수 그리스도께서 십자가에서 받으실 고난을 성령 안에서 다윗의 입을 통하여 미리 예언한 말씀입니다.

       성령으로 다시 태어나서 하나님의 자녀가 된 사람은 사람의 혈통으로 태어난 자연인이 더 이상 아닌 것입니다. 그들은 하나님께서 친히 낳으신 자녀들이기 때문에 비록 믿지 않는 가족과 함께 살고 또  믿지 않는 사람들과 생활해도 삶 속에서 우선 먼저 하나님의 왕국과 하나님의 의를 구하는 삶을 살기 때문에 가깝게는 가족들로부터 박해를 받아야 하며 세상 사람들로부터 핍박을 받지 않을 수 없는 것입니다.  비록 그들이 가족이나 친구라 할지라도 영적으로는 서로 적대 관계에 있기 때문입니다. 그러므로 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들은 성령을 통하여 지혜롭게 처신하면서 믿지 않는 기족이나 친구들에게 복을 전해서 그들 역시 하나님의 왕국으로 인도해야 하는 것입니다.  

      본문에서 하나님의 사람인 다윗은 온갖 박해 속에서 유일한 그의 소망이 살아계신 하나님 한 분이기에 그는 그의 혼이 마치 수사슴이 시내들을 갈망하는 것같이 살아 계신 하나님을 갈망한다고 고백했습니다.  세상 사람들은 그를 향하여 “네하나님이어디있느냐?”라고 조롱하는 가운데 그는 밤낮으로 눈물을 흘렸습니다. 그의 고난이 얼마나 컸던지 자신의 혼을 몸으로부터 토해내서 그의 혼이 하나님을 만나기를 갈망했습니다. 다시 말해서 그는 죽고 싶다고 하나님께 고백한 것입니다. 심지어는 하나님을 믿는 사람들조차도 그를 이해하지 못하고 그를 조롱했음을 알 수 있습니다. 오늘날도 주님만을 제일로 섬기는 사람을 향하여 육신적인 그리스도인들마저도 조롱하는 것을 봅니다.

        다윗이 이때에 그가 할 수 있었던 유일한 것은, 자신의 혼을 향하여 “어찌하여 네가 낙담하느냐? 어찌하여 네가 내 안에서 불안해 하느냐? 너는 하나님을 바라라. 그의 얼굴의 도우심으로 내가 여전히 그를 찬양하리라.”고 기도하는 것이었습니다. 그는 여전히 계속 쉬지 않고 기도하면서 하나님께 청원할 수밖에 없었습니다. “어찌하여 주께서는 나를 잊으셨나이까? 어찌하여 내가 원수의 압제로 인하여 슬퍼하며 다녀야 하리이까? 칼로 찌름같이 내 원수들이 나를 비방하며 그들이 날마다 내게 말하기를 ‘네 하나님이 어디 있느냐?’“라고 외쳤습니다. 그후에 그는 자신의 혼을 향하여 낙담하지 말고 불안해 하지 말고 하나님을 바라라고 외치며 하나님을 찬양하며 그의 기도가 끝이 납니다: “내 얼굴을 강건케 하시는 분이요, 나의 하나님이신 그분을 내가 여전히 찬양하리라.”

       끝까지 그리스도를 따라갔던 사도 바울은 그의 삶에 대하여 증거할 때에 “내가 그리스도를 위하여 나의 약한 것들과 모욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤경을 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약할 때 곧 내가 강하기 때문이라.”(고후 12:10)고 고백했습니다. 그가 이렇게 고난 가운데서도 기뻐할 수 있었던 것은 고난 가운데 함께 하시는 주님의 음성을 들었기 때문입니다.: “내 은혜가 네게 충분하도다. 이는 내 능력이 약한 데서 온전하게 됨이니라.”(고후 12:9) 이 주님의 음성을 들은 사도 바울은 “그러므로 내가 오히려 기쁘게 나의 약한 것들을 자랑하리니 이는 그리스도의 능력이 내게 거하게 하려 함이니라.”(고후 12:9)고 증거했습니다.

        그렇습니다. 악한 세상을 이기는 비결은 성령을 통하여 주시는 능력입니다. 그리고 그 능력은  하나님의 사랑인 것입니다. 그러므로 이 하나님의 사랑으로 모든 고난을 이길 수 있는 것입니다. 고난 가운데서도 소망이 부끄럽지 않은 것은 성령을 통하여 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음 속에 부어졌기 때문이라고  사도 바울은 로마에 있는 성도들에게 증거했습니다(롬 5:5).

        다윗왕은 극심한 고난을 겪는 동안 성령 안에서 삶의 참 소망이 무엇인지 깨닫게 되었다고 증거했습니다.  “나, 나는 의 가운데서 주의 얼굴을 보리니 내가 깨면 주의 모습으로 만족하리이다.”(시 17:15) 그는 현세에서 왕노릇하면서 누리는 것이 그의 참 소망이 아니라 그리스도의 영원한 왕국 안에서 그의 보좌가 영원히 견고할 것이라는 하나님의 약속의 말씀(삼하 7:13)을 믿었던 것입니다: 하나님께서는 선지자 에스겔을 통하여 다윗왕이 예수 그리스도의 천년왕국 때에 이스라엘의 통치자가 될 것을 말씀하셨습니다: “내가 한 목자를 그들 위에 세우면 그가 그들을 먹이리니, 곧 나의 종 다윗이라. 그가 그들을 먹일 것이요, 그가 그들의 목자가 되리라. 나 주는 그들의 하나님이 되고 내 종 다윗은 그들 가운데 통치자가 되리라. 나 주가 그것을 말하였노라.”(겔 34:23,24)

        현 세상만을 바라보면 지상에 있는 모든 사람은 그리스도인이나 세상 사람 모두가 우울할 수밖에 없지만 그리스도인들은 성령을 통하여 모든 고난을 이기고 오히려 하나님을 기뻐함으로써 모든 우울함을 떨쳐버릴 수 있는 것입니다. 그러나 세상 사람들은 이 능력을 알 수도 없고 누릴 수도 없기 때문에 우울증으로 인하여 여러가지 정신질환으로 인해 고통받는 것입니다. 오랫 동안 바벨론에서 포로생활 하면서 지칠대로 지친 이스라엘 백성들을 향하여 느헤미야는 외쳤습니다. “너희는 슬퍼하지 말라. 이는 주를 기뻐함이 너희의 힘이기 때문이라.”(느 8:10)  그렇습니다. 우리도  앞으로 임할 예수 그리스도의 왕국에서 누릴 소망을 붙들고 약속하신 주님을앙망하며 기뻐할 때에 새힘을 얻어 낙심하지 않고 독수리가 하늘로 치솟는 것과 같은 새 힘으로 세상을 이기는 삶을 살 수 있는 것입니다(사 40:31) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 43:1-5

Subject: The born again Christian that overcome depression

       In the main passage, a man of God is under depression being discouraged. children of God have already enter into the spiritual kingdom of God through the new birth of the Holy Ghost being delivered from the hand of the Devil. But they have to live in the sinful world physically. Even though they are freed from the law of sin and death to live in the law of the Spirit of life(Rom. 8:2), they have to live in the body in the wicked world where the law of sin and death prevails. Even though their souls are on the way to heaven no more to the hell, their souls have to live in their body.

        There is a very important truth that the born again children of God must understand. In the past, their body, soul and spirit lived in the world as the friend of the world; but now the world became there enemy to be the friend of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the Devil, the prince of the world tries to tempt them, and insult and persecute through his servants. Jesus spoke unto his disciples of this: If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.(John 15:19,20)

        Jesus spoke unto them again to surprise them:

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”(Matt. 10:34-38)

        King David, man of the Holy Ghost was persecuted severely by King Saul as well as his children who were led by the spirit of the Devil. Even his son, Absalom who was the dearest son tried to kill him to take over his throne. In the books of Psalms, there are lots of words of the sufferings of David. Especially Psalms  22 and 69 became the prophesies of the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross testified by David in the Holy Ghost.

        The children of God born again of the Spirit are not natural men anymore that are born of blood. They cannot avoid persecution from none believing family as well as secular friends, for they seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Even though they are family and friends, they are in the enmity spiritually. Therefore, the children of God have to behave themselves wisely to deal with them to preach the gospel, and invite them into the kingdom of God.

        In the main passage, king David, the man of God has the only hope in the living God in the midst of severe suffering. He confessed as the hart eager after the water brooks, so his soul eager for the LORD God.  His tears had been his meat day and night, while people continuously said unto him, Where is thy God? And he poured his soul in him to see the LORD God. In other word, he wanted to die. Even carnal men of God might have mocked him as carnal Christians do the same thing unto the spiritual Christians these days.

        Only one thing that David could do was to say unto his soul,

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” He couldn’t help appealing unto God with prayer continuously crying, “Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?” Afterwards, he cried unto his soul saying  not to cast down nor fear, but hope in God. He ended his prayer with praising God saying, “I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

         Apostle Paul who followed Jesus Christ to the end of life testified of his life confessing, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”(2Cor. 12:10) He could have pleasure even in the midst of suffering, because he heard the voice of the Lord Jesus saying,

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”(2Cor. 12:9) After he heard the voice of the Lord, he testified saying, “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”(2Cor. 12:9)

        Yea!  We can overcome the wicked world by the power of God that is love of God. We can overcome sufferings through love of God. Apostle Paul testified unto the saints in Rome in the midst of tribulations, saying, hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Rom. 5:5)

        David testified of his understanding for the true hope of life even in the midst of severe suffering saying, “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”(Ps. 17:15) He believed not in his throne in this world as the true hope of life, but he believed the word of promise of God saying the throne of his kingdom shall be forever (2Sam. 7:13). God spoke through prophet Ezekiel of king David to be the prince in the Millennium of Jesus Christ in the future: “And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.”(EZ. 34:23,24)

         Only seeing the present world, all men in the world whether they are Christians or not tend to be under depression; but Christians can overcome all the tribulations through the power of the Holy Spirit; and they can cast out all the depression through the joy of the Lord. But it is impossible for none Christians to know the power of the God nor to have it so that they are emerged into all kinds of mental illness through depression. Nehemiah, the servant of the LORD God cried out unto the people of Israel that had been wearing extremely through the captivity in Babylon for long time saying, “neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”(Neh. 8:10)

Yea! Being steadfast for the hope that we shall have in the Millennium of Jesus Christ, and waiting upon the Lord Jesus to come with joy, we could overcome the world with new energy as the eagle mounting up with wings (Isa. 40:31) Amen! Hallelujah!
