금주의 묵상: 시편 1:1-6

본문: 신명기 30:19. 20

제목:살기위하여 생명을택하자!

         모세가 일백이십 세가 되어 자신이 죽을 날을 바라보면서 마지막으로 이스라엘 민족에게 마지막으로 경고하는 말씀을 듣고 있습니다. 또한 이 말씀은  오늘날 우리들에게도 주시는  아주 중요한 말씀이기도 한 것입니다.

        하나님께서 이스라엘 민족에게 주신 계명은 그들에게 가려진 것도 이니고 그리 먼 것도 아니며, 그것은 하늘에 있는 것도 아니니, 그들이 말하기를  “누가 우리를 위하여 하늘에 올라가서 그것을 우리에게로 가져와 우리로 그것을 듣고 그것을 행하게 하랴?” 할 것이 아니며, 그것은 또한 바다 건녀 편에 있는 것도 아니니 그들이 말하기를 “누가 우리를 위하여 바다를 건너가서 그것을 우리에게로 가져다가 우리로 그것을 듣고 행하게 하랴?” 할 것이 아니니라. 오히려 그말씀은네게아주가까워네입에있고네마음에있으니, 너는그것을행할수있다고 말씀하셨습니다(신 30:11-14).

        사도 바울도 로마에 있는 사람들에게 하나님의 말씀에 대하여 증거할 때에 “‘말씀이 네게 가까워 네 입에 있으며 네 마음에 있노라.’ 하였으니 곧 우리가 전파하는 믿음의 말씀이라.”고 증거했습니다 (롬 10:8)

      하나님께서는 이스라엘 민족 앞에 생명과 선, 그리고 죽음과 악을 두셨다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 또한 그들과 그들의 자손이 살기 위하여 생명을 택하라고 말씀하셨습니다.  모세는 40년이라는 오랜 동안 그들이 주 하나님을 사랑하고 그분의 길에서 행하고 그분의 계명들과 그분의 규례들과 그분의 명령들을 지키게 하였다고 증거했습니다. 그 이유에 대하여는 그들로 살고 번성케 하려 함이라고 말씀했습니다. 그들이 하나님의 말씀에 순종할 때에 그들이 차지하러 가는 그 땅에서 하나님께서 복 주실 것이라고 증거한 것입니다. 그러나 만일 그들이 마음을 돌이켜 듣지 아니하고 유혹을 받아 다른 신들을 경배하며 그들을 섬기면, 반드시 망할 것이며, 요단을 건너가서 차지하는 그 땅에서 그들의 날이 길지 못하리라고 엄숙히 선언했습니다.

        마침내 모세는 하늘과 땅을 불러서 그들에게 증거를 삼아 단호하게 말했습니다: “네 앞에 생명과 죽음, 복과 저주를 두었은즉, 그러므로 너와 네 자손이 살려면 생명을 택할지니라.”(신 30:19)

       하나님의 사람 모세는 일찌기 장차 나타나실 이스라엘의 메시야시요 모든 민족의 구세주이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 이 땅에 오실 것에 대하여 하나님께서 하신 말씀을 증거했습니다: “주 너의 하나님께서 네 가운데로부터 네 형제들 가운데서 나와 같은 한 선지자를 네게 일으키시리니 너희는 그에게 경청할 것이니라. 내가 집회의 날에 호렙에서 주 너의 하나님께 바랐던 모든 것에 따라 말하기를 ‘나로 하여금 주 나의 하나님의 음성을 다시 듣지 않게 하시고, 나로 더 이상 이 큰 불을 보지 않게 하소서. 그래야 내가 죽지 않겠나이다.’ 하였더니, 주께서 내게 말씀하시기를 ‘그들이 말한 것은 잘한 것이라. 내가 그들의 형제 가운데서 너와 같은 한 선지자를 그들에게 일으켜서 내 말들을 그의 입에 두리라. 그리하면 그는 내가 그에게 명령할 모든 것을 그들에게 말하리라. 그가 내 이름으로 말한 내 말들에 경청하지 않는 자는 누구라도 내가 그에게 그것을 요구하리라.”(신 18:15-19)

         이스라엘 백성 앞에 놓여 있었던 생명과 죽음과, 복과 저주는 지금 우리들 앞에도 여전히 놓여 있는 것입니다. 생명은 바로 예수 그리스도를 믿어 받는 것이며, 죽음은 믿지 않는 죄 때문에 불못에서 영원한 둘째 사망 가운데 있게 됨을 말씀하는 것입니다. 또한 복과 저주는 구원을 받았을지라도 하나님의 왕국에서 유업을 누리는 것과 유업을 상실하는 두 가지 선택을 우리 앞에 두신 것입니다.

         시편 기자는 복 있는 사람, 즉 복을 택한 사람에 대하여 증거했습니다: “복 있는 사람은 악인들의 간계를 따르지 아니하며, 죄인들의 길에 서지 아니하며, 조롱하는 자들의 자리에 앉지 아니하는도다. 그의 즐거움이 주의 법에 있으니, 그가 주의 법을 주야로 묵상하는도다. 그는 강가에 심겨진 나무 같아서 계절을 따라 열매를 맺으며, 그의 잎사귀도 마르지 아니하리니, 그가 무엇을 하든지 번성하리로다.”(시 1:1-3)

      그렇습니다. 하나님의 백성이 되었을지라도 여전히 그들 앞에 생명과 죽음, 그리고 복과 저주가 놓여있는 것처럼 오늘날 하나님의 자녀들은 이미 생명을 받았을지라도 지상의 삶 가운데 , 복과 저주가 놓여 있는 것입니다. 그리스도인들은 살기 위하여 생명이신 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 생명을 받은 것입니다. 그러나 그들은 여전히 복과 저주 가운데 하나를 택해야 하는 것입니다. 주님게서는 유대인들을 향하여 “살리는 것은 영이니 육은 전혀 무익하니라. 내가 너희에게 한 말들은 영이요, 생명이라.”(요 6:63)고 말씀하셨습니다.

     사도 바울은 그리스도인들이 택해야 할 두 가지에 대하여 증거했습니다: “내가 이것을 말하노니 성령 안에서 행하라. 그리하면 육신의 정욕을 이루지 아니하리라. 육신은 성령을 거슬려 욕심을 부리며 성령은 육신을 거스리나니 이들은 서로 반목하여서 너희가 하고자 하는 것을 하지 못하게 하느니라. 그러나 너희가 성령의 인도하심을 받는다면 너희는 율법 아래 있지 아니하느니라. 이제 육신의 일들은 분명히 나타나나니 곧 간음과 음행과 더러운 것과 음욕과 우상 숭배와 마술과 원수 맺음과 다툼과 질투와 분노와 투쟁과 분열과 이단들과 시기와 살인과 술 취함과 흥청거림과 또 그와 같은 것들이라. 내가 전에 말한 바와 같이 그런 짓들을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못할 것이라…..자신의 육신에 심는 자는 육신으로부터 썩은 것을 거두고 성령에 심는 자는 성령으로부터 영생을 거두리라“(갈 5:16-21; 6:8)

           이 세상에 있는  것 가운데 우리 앞에 놓인 유일한 생명과 복은 하나님의 말씀입니다. 이 세상 누구라도 생명을 얻기 위해서는 하나님의 입에서 나온 말씀들을 기록해 놓은 성경을 택해야 하는 것입니다. 또한 생명을 얻은 하나님의 자녀들이라 할지라도 그들이 복을 받는 길은 오직 하나님의 말씀 안에서 성령의 인도함을 받아 영생을 거두는 것입니다. 그러므로 성경 말씀을 떠나서 생각하고 상상하고 행하는 것들은 모두거 썩어질 육신과 함께 없어지는 사망의 열매만 거두게 되는 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀으로 온 마음을 가득 채우고 주야로 말씀을 묵상함으로써 영생의 열매를 거두어야만 그리스도의 날에 영원한 보상을 받게 되는 것입니다. 그리하여 하나님의 말씀대로 사는 것이 규칙대로 경기하는 것이며 그런 자들에게만 면류관이 주어지는 것입니다. 새해에는 하나님의 말씀으로 옷 입으심으로써 새 사람이신 주 예수 그리스도로 옷 입어 그리스도의 향기인 생명의 향기를 뿜으심으로써 영생의 열매를 맺는 새로운 해가 되어야 할 것입니다. 아멘. 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 1:1-6

Main scripture: Deuteronomy 30: 19, 20

Subject: Choose life to live

           Looking forward the death in the age of 120 years, Moses warned to the people of Israel; this is also very important massage for us.

         Moses testified to them saying,

“For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it“(Deut. 30:11-14)

        Apostle Paul testified of the word of God unto the inhabitants in Rome saying,

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;”(Rom. 10:8)

         The LORD God spoke unto the people of Israel, he has set before them life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both they and their seed may live.  Moses spoke unto them, he  commanded them to this day for 40 years to love the LORD their God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statues and his judgments, that they may live and multiply: and the LORD their God shall bless them in the land where they go to possess. He also declared solemnly, but if their heart turn away, so that they will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; they shall surely perish, and that they shall not prolong their days upon the land.

        At last, Moses spoke unto them solemnly calling heaven and earth to record that day:

 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”(Deut. 30:19)

       Earlier,  Moses, the man of God testified of the word of the LORD God of the Lord Jesus Christ to come as the Messiah of Israel as well as the Saviour of all nations:

 “The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”(Deut. 18:15-19)

           The LORD God set the same things before us still such as life and death, and blessing and cursing. Life is to receive on the Lord Jesus Christ by faith; and of death, whosoever not believe on him shall be cast into the lake of fire to the eternal death just because they not believed on him.  And of blessing and cursing, we have to make choice whether we shall have the inheritance in the kingdom of God or lose it.

        The psalmist testified of the man of blessing saying:

 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”(Ps. 1:1-3)

         Yea! Even though they were chosen as the people of God, they had to choose life from the things of life and death, and blessing and cursing. In the same way, even though the children of God have already received life eternal, there are blessing and cursing before them in this current life. Christians have already have received life through believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. But they still have to choose the one between blessing and cursing in the earthly life. Jesus spoke unto the Jews:

 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63)

         Apostle Paul testified of the two things to be chosen by the children of God saying,

 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God….. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”(Gal. 5:16-21; 6:8)

         There is only one that gives us life and blessing; this is the word of God. To have life, every man should receive the word spoken out of the mouth of God, that is written in the scriptures. Even though the children of God are supposed to abide the word of God to be blessed to be led by the Holy Ghost to reap the life everlasting. All the thoughts and imaginations departing from the word of God are supposed to reap death that shall be perished with the body of corruption. To be rewarded eternally in the day of Christ, we have to fill our heart with the word of God, and reap the life eternal. Running according to the rule is to walk in the word of God to receive the crowns. The new year to come shall be for all of us to be clothed with the word of God to be clothed with the new man, Jesus Christ; and all of us shall make the sweet savor of Christ, and reap the life eternal. Amen. Hallelujah!
