금주의 묵상: 시편 90:1-17

본문: 시편 39:1-17

제목: 손 너비 같은 삶 가운데 어떻게 살아 왔는가??

       하나님께서 사람들을 이 땅에 태어나게 하셔서 살다가 언젠가는 죽어 땅에 묻히게 하신 뜻을 깨닫는 사람은 하나님을 두려워하는 지혜의 삶을 살 수 있는 것입니다. 고난 가운데 지혜를 깨달았던 욥은, 하나님을 두려워함이 곧 지혜요, 악에서 떠나는 것이 명철이라고 증거했습니다(욥 28:28) 또한 지혜의 사람 솔로몬왕도 명철은 거룩하신 분을 아는 지식이라고 증거했습니다(잠 9:10).

       다윗왕은 하나님의 지혜와 명철을 받아 하나님이 어떤 분이심을 알았기에 하나님을 두려워함으로 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 기도를 드렸습니다. 우리는 그가 하나님께 드린 기도를 통해서 그가 받은 지혜와 명철이 어떤 것인지 알 수 있습니다:

“나는 나의 길을 조심하여 내 혀로 죄짓지 아니하리라. 악인이 내 앞에 있을 때 나는 내 입에 자갈을 물리리라.. 내가 침묵하여 벙어리가 되었으며 심지어 선한 것에조차도 잠잠하였더니 나의 슬픔이 일었나이다.”

     그는 하나님을 두려워함으로 그가 잘못된 길로 가지 않기 위하여 항상 조심하는 삶을 살았던 것입니다. 그는 항상 주의 말씀만을 그가 가는 길에 빛으로 삼아 말씀을 떠나 좌로나 우로나 치우치지 않으려고 조심했습니다. 그는 “주의 말씀은 내 발에 등불이요, 내 길에 빛이니이다.”(시 119:105)라고 고백했습니다. 그는 하나님을 두려워함으로 자신의 입 앞에 파숫군을 세우시고 입의 문을 지켜달라고 기도했습니다(시 141:3). 그는 악인들이 그를 비방하고 대적하였을 때에도 침묵을 지키면서 입으로 죄짓지 않으려고 잠잠하여 그의 마음 속에 슬픔이 일어났지만 하나님을 두려워함으로 참을 수 있었습니다.

        그가 하나님 앞에서 그렇게 행할 수 있었던 것은 그의 삶의 분량이 얼마나 짧은지, 그리고 그 자신이 하나님 앞에서 얼마나 연약한 존재인지 알게 해 달라는 기도를 드렸을 때 그자신의 삶의 기간이 영원하신 하나님 앞에서 마치 아무 것도 없는, 마치 손 너비밖에 되지 않는 다는 것을 깨달았던 것입니다. 인생이 짧다는 사실은 어린 아이들도 잘 알고 있는 사실입니다. 그러나 들어서 지식으로 안다는 것과 깨달았다는 것은 하늘과 땅의 차이인 것입니다. 그의 삶의 분량이 눈깜짝하는 정도의 시간밖에 안되는 것을 깨달은 다윗은 그가 그 당시 가장 좋은 상태에 있는 사람 가운데 하나였지만 그의 인생이 헛되다는 고백을 할 수밖에 없었습니다. 모세도 칠십이요 강건하면 팔십인 생의 기간 동안 겪는 것은 수고와 슬픔인 것을 깨닫고 이 짧고 슬픔의 날들을 세면서 살 수 있는 지혜를 달라고 기도했습니다(시 90:10-12).

        다윗왕은 율법 아래에서 죄를 지을 때마다 하나님의 책망을 받음으로 인해 모든 아름다움이 마치 좀처럼 소멸된다는 것을 알았습니다. 그는 그 자신이 이 땅에 잠깐 왔다 가는 타국인이며 체류자인 것을 알았던 것입니다. 그는 이 땅에 잠깐 살다 가는 동안 그가 준비해야 하는 유일한 것에 대하여 하나님께 고백했습니다. “나, 나는 의 가운데서 주의 얼굴을 보리니 내가 깨면 주의 모습으로 만족하리이다.”(시 17:15) 그는 율법 아래서 죄짓지 않는 거룩한 삶을 살다가 죽은 후에 아브라함의 품에 잠자다가 주 예수 그리스도께서 모든 율법의 죄들을 구속하시기 위해 죽으신 후 부활하실 때 그가 주님의 모습으로 부활하는 소망 속에 살았던 것입니다. 마태는 그리스도의 부활의 때에 일어났던 일을 증거했습니다: “예수께서 다시 큰 음성으로 소리지르신 후 숨을 거두시더라. 그런데, 보라, 성전의 휘장이 위에서 아래까지 둘로 찢어지고 땅이 흔들리며, 바위들이 갈라지고 무덤들이 열리며 잠들었던 많은 성도들의 몸이 일어났으며 주께서 부활하신 후에 무덤에서 나와 거룩한 도성으로 들어가 많은 사람들에게 나타나더라.”(마 27:50-53)

        그는 하나님을 모르는 사람들의 삶에 대하여 그들은 마치 헛된 그림자같이 걸어다니며 진실로 그들이 헛되이 분주하니 재물을 쌓으나 누가 그것을 가질지 알지 못한다고 말하면서 자신은 오직 주님을 기다리는 소망 가운데 살겠다고 고백한 것입니다. 또한 그들은 이생에서만 그들의 몫을 받은 자들로서 하나님께서는 그들을 불쌍히 여기심으로 그들의 배를 감추어진 보화로 채우시고 그들로 자녀들이 가득하게 하시고 그들의 남은 재산을 그들의 아기들에게 남겨주게 하신다고 증거했습니다(시 17:14).

      진실로 이생의 삶은 마치 손너비처럼 10대, 20대, 30대, 40대, 50대, 60대, 70대, 80대…를 지나면서 마치 열 손가락을 채우지도 못하는 손 너비 같이 짧은 기간인 것을 깨닫는 사람은 이 짧은 기간 동안 어떻게 살아야 하는지 깨닫는 지혜를 얻을 수 있는 것입니다. 다윗왕은 그가 사는 동안에 무엇보다 먼저 입으로 죄짓지 않는 삶을 사는 것이 그의 삶의 목표라고 고백했습니다. 다윗왕의 아들 솔로몬은 “의의 길에서 얻게 된다면 흰머리는 영광의 면류관이라.”고 증거했습니다(잠 16:31).

        사도 바울은 에베소 교회의 성도들에게 성령 안에서 권면했습니다: “무엇이 주를 기쁘시게 할 것인지 입증하라. 열매 없는 어두움의 일들에 관여하지 말고 오히려 그것들을 책망하라. 이는 그들이 비밀리에 행한 그런 것들에 대하여는 말하기조차 부끄럽기 때문이라. 그러나 책망받는 모든 것이 빛에 의하여 드러나니 무엇이든지 드러나게 하는 것은 빛이니라. 그러므로 그가 말씀하시기를 잠자는 자여 깨어나. 그리고 죽은 자들로부터 일어나라. 그러면 그리스도께서 네게 빛을 주시리라..’고 하셨느니라. 그러므로 너희가 얼마나 정확히 행하고 있는지 주의 하라. 미련한 사람같이 행하지 말고 현명한 사람같이 행하여 시간을 사서 앋으라. 이는 그 날들이 악하기 때문이라. 이로 인하여 너희는 어리석게 되지 말고 주의 뜻이 무엇인지 이해하라.”(엡 5:10-17)

        그렇습니다. 성령으로 다시 태어난 그리스도인들은 다윗왕처럼 부활의 날을 기다리는 소망 가운데 사는 사람들입니다. 또한 그 날에 그리스도의 형상으로 변화되는 소망을 가진 사람들입니다. 이 소망을 가진 자마다 누구나 그분께서 정결하신 것처럼 자신을 정결케 하는 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다(요일 3:3). 뿐만 아니라 그분께서 오실 때 주실 보상을 바라보면서 인내하면서 그리스도의 고난에 동참해야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 목회자 디모데에게 “우리가 참으면 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2;12)고 증거했습니다. 그는 또한 로마에서 박해 가운데 있는 그리스도인들에게 “자녀이면 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께한 공동상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라. 이는 현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 될 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이이라.”(롬 8:17-18)고 증거했습니다.  

      그는 또한 고린도교회 성도들에게 그리스도의 날에 일어날 영광스러운 부활에 대하여 증거하면서 그들에게 권면했습니다: “보라, 내가 너희에게 한 가지 신비를 말하노니 우리가 다 잠잘 것이 아니요 오히려 우리가 모두 변화될 것이니 마지막 나팔 소리에 눈깜짝하는 순간에 그러하리라. 나팔 소리가 나면 죽은 자들이 썩지 아니하는 몸으로 일으켜지며 우리도 변화되리라. 그리하여 이 썩을 몸이 반드시 썩지 아니할 몸을 입고 이 죽을 몸이 죽지 아니할 몸을 입으리라. 이 썩을 몸이 썩지 아니함을 입고 또 이 죽을 몸이 죽지 아니할 몸을 입게 되면 그때 ‘사망이 승리 속에 삼킨 바 되었느니라.’고 기록된 말씀이 이루어지리라. 오 사망아, 너의 쏘는 것이 어디 있느냐? 오 음부야, 너의 승리가 어디 있느냐? 사망이 쏘는 것은 죄요, 죄의 능력은 율법이라. 그러나 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리에게 승리를 주시는 하나님께 감사하노니, 그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라, 흔들리지 말라. 항상 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 아니한 줄 너희가 앏이니라.”(고전 15:51-58) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 90:1-17

Subject: How have we been living in the life as an handbreadth?

        The one that understand the will of God why he allowing to be born and die to be buried could have wisdom of life fearing God.

Job understood the will of God in the midst of all kinds of affliction testified, “Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”(Job. 28:28) A man of wisdom, king Solomon also testified, “the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”(Prov. 9:10)

        King David understood what is the LORD God through the wisdom of God; and he could submit the prayer that pleased him in the fear of God. We are able to understand what kind of wisdom and understanding that he received through his prayer:

“I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.”

        In the fear of God, he always tried to heed not to be wrong way of life. He always tried abide in the words of God as light not to be off the track to the right and to the left. He confessed, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”(Ps. 119:105) He prayed unto the Lord in the fear of him saying, “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”(Ps. 141:3) He tried to keep silence before the wicked that was against him with slandering not to sin; and he could endure with patience in the fear of the Lord even though his sorrow was stirred.

          It was possible for him to behave like this, because he understood how much short his life was, and how frail he was when he asked the Lord to understand. He understood how much short his life was before the eternal God as his age is as nothing as an handbreadth. Every one knows, life is short even a little children. But knowing something and understanding it is quite different each other as between heaven and earth. King David understood, his length of life is as much as twinkling of an eye, he couldn’t help confessing, every man at his best state is altogether vanity, even though he was one of them that were at best state as the king of Israel. Even Moses also understood, the days of our years three score years and ten(seventy); and if by reason of strength they be four score years(eighty), yet their strength labour and sorrow; and he prayed unto the LORD God to teach him to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Ps. 90:10-12)

        King David knew that his beauty had to be consumed away like moth under the law whenever he sins against God because of the rebuke of God. he also understood of himself as a strange as well as a sojourner only staying in the earth short period of time before le leaves. And he confessed unto the LORD God what he was supposed to prepare for himself during his life: “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”(Ps. 17:15) He lived in the hope of resurrection when the Lord Jesus Christ rises again after he die for his sins of the law awaking form the bosom of Abraham in the likeness of Jesus after he lives in righteousness abstaining from sinning. Matthew testified of the thing that happened when Jesus rose again from the dead:

 “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”(Matt. 27:50-53)

        King David testified of them that not know the LORD God saying,

“Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.” But he testified of himself saying, And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. He also testified of them in the world and he asked the Lord to deliver his soul from men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.(Ps. 17:14)

      Whosoever understands how short length of life passing through the generations of tens, twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, sixties, seventies …..and so on as short as an handbreadth not enough to fill ten fingers can have the wisdom how to live through such a short life time. King David set a goal not to sin with his mouth. King Solomon, a son of David testified, “The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.”(Prov. 16:31)

        Apostle Paul encouraged the saints in the church of Ephesians in the Spirit:

 “Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”(Eph. 5:10-17)

      Yea! Born again Christians born of the Spirit of God are living in the hope of the day of resurrection in the day of Christ as king David expecting to be changed in the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. And every man that has this hope in him has to purify himself, even as he is pure (1John 3:3). Not only this, but they have to live with patience participating in the suffering of Christ in the hope of the reward when he appears. Apostle Paul testified unto Timothy, a pastor saying, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”(2Tim. 2:12)

 He also testified unto the saints in Rome under persecution saying,

 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”(Rom. 8:17,18)

               Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of the church of Corinthians of the glorious resurrection to be happening in the day of Christ, and encouraged them saying,

 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”(1Cor. 15:51-58) Amen! Hallelujah!
