금주의 묵상: 시편 30:1-12

본문: 마태복음 16:24-17:1-3(눅 9:23-25, 막 8:34-9:4)

제목: 주님의 눈에 합당한 제자가 되었는가?

       본문에 나타난 주님의 말씀은 주님의 제자가 된 사람들을 향한 말씀입니다. 또한 제자로서의 삶을 사는 사람과 그렇지 못한 사람에게 주시는 보상이 다르다는 것 또한 말씀하고 있습니다. 세상사람들도 이생에서 성공을 하기 위해서 안일한 삶을 살 수 없는데 하물며 하나님의 왕국에서 영원한 유업을 바라보는 제자들이야말로 이 땅에 사는 동안에 편안한 삶을 살 수 없는 것입니다. 이 세상에 있는 기업에 취직을 한다 해도 자신을 철저하게 부인하고 모든 어려움을 주인과 함께 극복하지 않고서는 성공을 기대할 수 없는데 이 온 우주의 주인이신 주 예수 그리스도를 따르면서 자신을 부인하지 않고 또한 온 만물의 소유자이시며 창조주이신 주 예수 그리스도의 뜻이 이 땅에 이루어지는 일을 위하여 고난의 십자가를 지지 않는다면 비록 제자가 되었을지라도 그분과 함께 영광을 받는 것을 기대할 수 없는 것입니다.

       주님께서는 제자들에게 “아버지나 어머니를 나보다 더 사랑하는 사람은 나에게 합당치 아니하고, 아들이나 딸을 나보다 더 사랑하는 사람도 나에게 합당치 아니하며 또 자기 십자가를 지지 않고 나를 따르는 자도 나에게 합당치 아니하니라.”(마 10:37,38)고 말씀하셨습니다. 다시 말해서 하나님 제일주의로 살지 않는 사람은 이 세상에서는 가족들과 사람들에게서는 환영을 받을지 몰라도 하나님의 왕국에서는 인정받지 못하고 가치 없는 자라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

       주님의 이 말씀에 온전히 순종하였던 사도 바울은 “자녀이면 또한 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께한 공동상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라. 이는 현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 될 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이라. 피조물이 허무한 데 굴복하는 것은 자의가 아니요, 오직 소망 가운데 그것들을 굴복케 하시는 그분 때문이며 피조물 자체도 그 썩어짐의 속박으로부터 해방되어 하나님의 자녀의 영광스러운 자유에 이를 것이기 때문이라. 모둔 창조물이 이제까지 신음하며 고통받는 것을 우리가 아노니 그들뿐만 아니라 성령의 첫 열매들을 가진 우리까지도 속으로 신음하며 양자 되는 것, 곧 우리 몸의 구속을 기다리고 있느니라.”(롬 8:17-23)라고 증거하면서 자신뿐만 아니라 모든 창조물들도 자신들을 부인하면서 사람들의 죄 때문에 썩어짐의 고통을 받으면서도 불평하지 않고 주님께서 그들을 회복할 때 까지 기다리는 것은  주님을 따라간 하나님의 자녀들이 영광을 받을 때 그들 역시 썩어짐의 속박으로부터 해방되어 하나님의 자녀의 영광스러운 자유를 누리게 될 것을 소망하고 있다고 증거한 것입니다.

       우리는 성령 안에서 모든 창조물들이 주인되시는 주 예수 그리스도께서 다시 오셔서 만물을 회복하시는 그날을 바라보면서 자신을 철저하게 부인하고 주님을 위하여 썩음의 십자가를 지고 그 날을 바라보고 있는 모습능 볼 수 있어야 하는 것입니다. 주님께서 이 지구상에 있는 만물들을 창조하실 때, 창조하신 빛을 보셨을 때 그것이 좋았다고 말씀하셨으며, 땅과 바다를 보셨을 때 그것이 좋았더라고 말씀하셨습니다. 또한 풀과 씨맺는 채소와 그 종류대로 열매맺는 씨를 가진 나무들을 보았을 때 좋아하셨습니다. 또한 해와 달을 창조하셨을 때 보시기에 좋으셨으며, 창공을 날으는 새들과 물들이 내는 큰 고래들과 모든 생물들을 보시고 좋아하셨습니다. 또한 땅에 사는 모든 생물들과 가축과 기어다니는 것과 짐승들을 보시며 좋아하셨습니다(창 1:3-25).

       그러나 벰인 사탄이 이 땅에 가져온 죄를 받아들인 사람으로 인하여 저주와 사망으로 인한 썩어짐이 온 땅과 땅 위에 있는 만물들 위에 임하게 된 것입니다. 그때부터 하나님께서는 이 땅에 저주와 사망  가운데 썩어짐의 종이 되어진 모든 사람들과 모든 창조물들을 파괴한 마귀를 멸하시고 마귀로 인하여 더럽혀진 하늘들과 땅을 회복하시기 위하여 계획을 세우시고 독생자 예수를 이 땅에 보내시어 하늘과 땅에 이루실 위대하신 프로젝트를 위하여 함께 일할 사람들을 부르신 것입니다. 그러므로 만물의 주인되시는 주 예수 그리스도가 어떤 분이심을 알고 믿는 사람들에게 영원한 생명을 주셔서 하나님의 왕국을 위하여 자신을 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 주님을 끝까지 따라오라고 말씀하신 것입니다..

         이로 인하여 주님께서 세상을 떠나가시기 전 마지막 기도 가운데서 “영생은 이것이니, 곧 사람들이 유일하시고 참 하나님이신 아버지와 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이옵니다.”(요 17:3) 말씀하셨습니다. 다시 말해서 예수 그리스도가 누구신지, 또한 어떤 목적으로 이 땅에 사람으로 내려오셔서 죄인들의 모든 죄들을 제거하시기 위하여 성경에 예언된대로 고난받으시고 죽으시고 죄인들처럼 장사되셨다가 성경대로 셋째 날에 부활하셨는지 아는 사람만이 그분을 믿어 영생을 받아 하나님의 자녀가 되며 동시에 예수 그리스도와 함께 동역하는 제자들이 될 것을 말씀하신 것입니다.

       예수 그리스도가 누구신지 확싫히 께달았던 사도 요한은 “태초에 말씀이 계셨고, 그 말씀이 하나님과 함께 계셨으니, 그 말씀은 하나님이셨느니라. 그 말씀이 태초에 하나님과 함께 계셨느니라. 만물은 그에 의하여 지은 바 되었으며, 이미 지음받은 것 가운데 그가 없이 지어진 것은 아무 것도 없더라. 그분 안에 생명이 있었으니 그 생명은 사람들의 빛이라….그 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시므로, (우리가 그 영광을 보니, 아버지의 독생자의 영광으로) 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라. ….태초부터 계셨고, 우리가 들었으며, 우리 눈으로 보았고, 주목하여 살폈으며, 우리 손으로 직접 만졌던 생명의 말씀에 관해서라. 그 생명이 나타나시매 우리가 보았고 증거하였으며 너희에게 그 영원한 생명을 보여주었으니, 그 생명은 아버지와 함께 계셨으며 우리에게 나타나셨느니라. 우리가 보고 들은 것을 너희에게 전함은 너희도 우리와 교제를 갖게 하려는 것이니 참으로 우리의 교제는 아버지와 그의 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께 하는 것이라. 우리가 너희에게 이런 것들을 씀은 너희의 기쁨이 충만하게 하려는 것이라”(요 1:1-4,14, 요일 1:1-4)

       자신을 철저하게 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 끝까지 주님을 따라가다가 자기 생명을 내어놓았던 사도 바울도 주 예수 그리스도가 어떤 분이심을 알았기에 그가 그렇게 하였다는 것을 골로새에 있는 성도들에게 증거했습니다: “그는 보이지 않는 하나님의 형상이시며 모든 피조물의 첫태생이시니 이는 만물이 그에 의하여 창조되되 하늘에 있는 것들과 땅에 있는 것들과 보이는 것들과 보이지 않는 것들과 보좌들이나 주권들이나 정사들이나 권세들이나 만물이 그에 의하여 또 그를 위하여 창조되었기 때문이라. 그는 만물 이전에 계시고 또 만물은 그로 말미암아 존속하느니라. 그는 몸인 교회의 머리시라. 그는 시작이시며 죽은 자들로부터 첫 번째로 나셨으니 이는 그가 만물 안에서 으뜸이 되려 하심이라. 이는 모든 충만함이 그의 안에 거하는 것이 아버지를 기쁘게 하였음이라.”(골 1:15-19)

         또한 그는 빌립보에 있는 성도들에게 “너희 안에 이 생각을 품으라. 곧 그리스도 예수 안에도 있는 생각이라. 그는 하나님의 형체로 계시므로 하나님과 동등하게 되는 것을 탈취라 생각지 아니하셨으니 오히려 자신의 영예를 버리고 종의 형체를 입으시어 사람들의 모습을 취하셨느니라. 그리하여 사람과 같은 모습으로 나타나셔서 자신을 낮추시고 죽음에까지 순종하셨으니 십자가의 죽음에까지라.”(빌 2:5-8)고 증거하면서 주님을 따라가는 제자들이 마땅히 주님처럼 자신을 부인하고 십자가를 지고 따라가는 마음으로 살아야 함을 증거한 것입니다.

        주님께서는 또한 제자들 가운데 세 사람, 즉 베드로, 요한, 야고보에게 특별한 것을 보여주셨습니다. 앞으로 자신이 마귀를 멸하시고 이 땅에 자신의 왕국을 세우실 때 그의 얼굴이 변형되어 해처럼 빛나는 모습과 모세와 엘리야가 좌우편에 서게 될 것을 보여주신 것입니다. 그렇습니다. 오늘날에도 주님을 위하여 자신을 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 자신의 생명까지도 주님을 위하여 잃어버리는 것을 개의치 않으며 주님을 따르는 자들에게는 앞으로 임할 그분의 천년왕국을 분명하게 계시하시며 본문에 주님께서 “이제 인자가 자기 아버지의 영광으로 자기 천사들과 함께 오리니, 그때에 그가 각자에게 그들이 행한대로 상 주실 것이라.”고 말씀하심으로써 그리스도의 왕국이 이 땅에 이루어질 때에 받을 상에 대하여 분명하게 말씀하신 것입니다. 사도 요한에 나타나신 주님께서 “보라, 내가 속히 오리니 내가 줄 상이 내게 있어 각 사람에게 그의 행위에 따라 주리라.”(계 22;12)고 친히 말씀하셨습니다. 주님께서는 므나 비유를 통해서 그 상이 무엇인지에 대하여 열 고을과 다섯 고을을 다스리는 통치권이라는 것을 분명하게 말씀하셨습니다(눅 19:11-27) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 30:1-12

Main scripture: Matthew 16:24-17:1-3(Luke 9:23-25, Mark 8:34-9:4)

Subject: Are you worthy disciple unto the eyes of the Lord?

       In the main passage, Jesus is speaking unto them that are his disciples. He also is talking about different reward from  worthy disciple to not worthy one.. Even worldly men are not willing to have comfortable life to have successful life in this current world; they that are looking for eternal inheritance in the kingdom of God cannot expect to enjoy comfortable life. Even as a employee in profit making organization is asked to deny himself and to overcome all kinds of troubles to secure successful career. No one can expect glory with the Lord Jesus Christ, unless we follow him that is the owner as well as creator of the whole universe denying ourselves, even though we are his disciples.

        Jesus said, “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”(Matt. 10:37,38)

He means, someone that not put him as the first priority could be welcomed by his family members as well as other people; but in the kingdom of God, he must be worthless.

       Apostle Paul that followed this word of Jesus testified:

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”(Rom. 8:17-23)

What he intended to say, not only him, but even all other creations are denying themselves in the suffering of corruption, not complaining to wait upon the time when the Lord Jesus restores them all. They hope to be free from the bondage of corruption when glorious children of God receive glory form the Lord in the future.

       In the Spirit, we should be able to see all creations that are looking forward the day when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again to restore  denying themselves, and taking up the cross of corruption. When God created all things in the earth, he saw the light, that it was good; and earth and oceans, that were good; and grass and herb yielding seed, and fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind that was good to him; and the Sun and the Moon also were good to him; and fowls flying above the earth as well as great whales and every living creature the moves that were good to him as well; and cattle after their kind and everything that creeps upon the earth were good to his eyes (Gen. 1:3-25)

         But, because of man that received the sin that was brought unto the earth by the serpent that is Satan, the corruption of curses and death has come upon the earth as well as all things within it. Henceforth, God has made a plan to destroy the Devil that destroyed all men as well as all creations to restore heaven and earth that were corrupted by the Devil; and God sent his only begotten Son to implement his great project, and he calls his co-labors. Therefore, God gives the life eternal unto them that understand the Lord Jesus Christ that is the owner of all things, and believe on him so that they may deny themselves and take up their cross to follow him to the end.

       The Lord Jesus said in his last prayer in the earth, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”(John 17:3)

In other word, only they that know Jesus Christ, and know why he came down in flesh to the earth for what kind of purpose, and died to take away all sins of sinners according to the scriptures, and buried, and rose again the third day receive the life eternal to be the children of God as well as co-laboring servants with Jesus Christ.

        Apostle Paul knew Jesus Christ for sure testified:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. …. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth…..hat which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”(John 1:1-4, 14, 1John 1:1-4)

        Apostle Paul denied himself completely, and took up his cross to follow Jesus Christ to the end when he gave up his life; and he testified unto Colossians of Jesus Christ: “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;”(Col. 1:15-19)

          He also testified of him unto the Philippians:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”(Phil. 2:5-8) He emphasized that the disciples of Jesus Christ must deny themselves and take up their cross as Jesus did.

        Lord Jesus showed something special unto the three of his disciples; they saw the shining face of Jesus with glory standing with Moses and Elias when he establishes his kingdom in the earth after he destroys the Devil. Yea! Even nowadays, God reveals his Millennium kingdom unto them that deny themselves for the sake of Christ and take up their cross and even give up their life for him.

Jesus said in the main passage of the reward when his kingdom comes, “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” Lord Jesus appeared unto Apostle John and said unto him, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”(Rev. 22:12) Jesus revealed what is the reward prepared for us through the parable of pound(mina); that is the reigning power in his Millennium for ten cities or five cities. Amen! Hallelujah!
