금주의 묵상: 시편 23:1-6

본문: 에베소서 3;1-21

제목: 그리스도의 영광스러운  복음 안에 있는 신비의 지식

      사도 바울은 에베소 교회에 있는 성도들과 그리스도 안 에 있는 신실한 자들에게 하나님의 교회 안에 있는 신비로운 지식에 관하여 증거하고 있습니다. 그 당시 사도 바울이 마음 속으로 안타까워하며 힘들었던 것은 주 예수 그리스도께서 그에게만 그리스도 안에 있는 신비에 대하여 계시하셨기 때문이었던 것입니다. 이로 인하여 그는 에베소에 있는 성도들, 특별히 그 가운데 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 신실한 자들에게 신비로운 지식에 대하여 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 또한 로마에 있는 사람들 가운에 하나님으로부터 사랑을 받고 성도로 부르심을 받은 사람들에게도 동일한 증거를 했습니다(롬 1:7).

       사도 바울은 그들이 그의 편지를 읽을 때에 거기서 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 자신의 지식을 이해하게 될 것이라고 말했습니다. 이 그리스도의 신비에 대하여 사도 바울은 골로새에 있는 그리스도 안의 성도들과 신실한 형제 들에게 편지할 때에 ” 이 신비는 여러 시대와 세대에 감추어졌다가 이제 그의 성도들에게 나타났고 하나님께서는 이들에게 이방인들 가운데서 이 신비의 영광의 풍요함이 어떠한지를 알리고자 하셨으니 이 신비는 너희 안에 계신 그리스도시요, 곧 영광의 소망이라.”(골 1:26,27)고 증거했습니다.

다시 말해서 그리스도가 안에 내주하는 사람들이 알게 되는 신비의 지식이라는 것이며 그리스도 안에서 앞으로 주실 영광의 소망이라는 것입니다.

        그리스도 예수 안에 있는 신비를 깨달은 사도 바울은 그리스도 예수가 머리된 하나님의 교회를 위하여 그가 받는 고난들을 기뻐한다고 고백했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 그리스도가 고통받으신 이후에 있는 것을 그의 몸인 교회를 위하여 자신의 육신에 채운다고 증거했습니다. 또한 그는 그리스도 안에서 세우신 하나님의 경륜 안에 있는 하나님의 말씀을 이루기 위하여 복음의; 일꾼이 되었다고 확실하게 증거했습니다(골 1:24-25)

        또한 사도 바울은 이 신비의 지식에 대하여 증거하기 전에, 하나님께서 자신의 기쁘심에 따라 자기 안에서 계획하신 바 그의 뜻의 신비를 우리들에게 알게 하셨다고 증거하면서 하나님의 뜻의 신비는 때가 찬 경륜으로서, 다시 말해서 특정한 기간 안에서 하늘에 있는 것들이나 땅에 있는 것들이나 자신 안에 있는 있는 것들까지도 만물을 그리스도 안에서 하나로 함께 모으려는 것이라고 증거했습니다(엡 1:9,10).

        그러나 이 신비의 지식은 거룩한 사도들과 선지자들에게 계시된 것처럼 그 이전 세대들, 다시 말해서 아담으로부터 노아 시대나 아브라함이 살았던 시대나 모세이후 율법시대에 살았던 어떤 사람의 아들들에게도 계시되지 않았던 신비의 지식이라고 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 오직 선지자들과 그리스도께서 성경대로 세상 죄들로 인해 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 성경대로 셋째 날에 살아나셔서 승천하신 후 성령께서 그의 이름으로 이 땅에 오신 후에 사도들에게 비로서 계시하셨다고 증거하고 있습니다.

        마침내 사도 바울은 이 신비의 지식이 무엇인지에 대하여, “이방인들이 복음을 동하여 그리스도 안에서 공동상속자가 되고 한 몸이 되며 그의 약속의 동참자가 된다는 것이니라.”(엡 3:6)고 증거했습니다. 또한 그리스,도 안에서 공동상속자가 되는 것에 대하여 그는 로마에 있는 성도들에게 더 구체적으로 증거했습니다:

“성령이 친히 우리의 영과 함께 우리가 하나님의 자녀임을 증거하시거니와 자녀이면 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께 공동상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라. 이는 현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 된 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이라.”(롬 8:16-18)

        우리가 받을 영광에 대하여 사도 바울은 그리스도의 은혜의 복음을 통하여 우리가 받은 영원한 생명과 더불어 받을 영광으로서 이것을 그리스도의 영광스러운 복음이라고 증거했습니다. 그러나 그가 고린도교회 성도들에게 편지할 때에, 이 세상 사단이 믿지 않는 자들의 마음을 어둡게 하여 하나님의 형상이신 그리스도의 영광스러운  복음의 광채가 비치지 못하게 한다고 증거했습니다. 다시 말해서 사단은 세상 사람들을 미혹하여 잠까 동안 자신이 통치하는 죄악 세상의 영광을 보여주면서 그리스도 안에서 영원히 누리는 영광스러운 복음에 대하여 보지 못하게 한다고 경고한 것입니다. 또한 마귀는 하나님이신 예수님에게까지 온 천하를 보여주면서 자기에게 경배하면 이 땅의 영광을 주겠다고 미혹했던 것입니다.

       사도 바울은 그리스도 안에서 받은 영광에 대하여 골로새에 있는 성도들에게 편지했습니다:

 “그러므로 너희가 그리스도와 함께 살아났으면 위에 있는 것들을 구하라.거기에는 그리스도께서 하나님의 오른편에 앉아계시느니라. 위에 있는 것들에 너희 마음을 두고 땅에 있는 것들에 마음을 두지 말라. 이는 너희가 죽었고 또 너희 생명이 그리스도께서 나타나실 때 그때 너희도 그와 함께 영광 가운데 나타날 것이라.”(골 1:1-4)

        다시 말해서 그리스도의 날, 즉 휴거의 날에 우리의 몸이 영화로운 몸으로 변화될 때에 공중에서 주님을 만나서 그리스도의 심판석에 선 다음 어린양의 혼인식으로 인도되어 그분과 영원히 한 몸이 되어 그분과 함께 하늘과 땅을 통치하는 영광을 받게 되는 영광을 증거한 것입니다.

      이로 인하여 사도 바울은 이 영광을 받을 사람들이 한 몸을 이루는 하나님의 교회, 즉 유대인이나 이방인이나 그리스도 안에서 한 몸을 이룬 그리스도의 몸된 교회의 영광을 미리 보고 교회를 위하여 모든 고난을 받는 것은 기쁨으로 여겼던 것입니다. 그는 돌에 맞아 죽었다가 살아난 후에도 계속해서 성읍마다 다니면서 복음을 전하고 많은 사람들을 가르치고 제자들의 혼을 강건케 해 주고 그들이 믿음 안에 거하도록 권고하면서 “우리가 많은 환난을 거쳐서 하나님의 나라에 들어가야 한다.”고 말하면서 그들을 자기들이 믿은 주께 의탁하였던 것입니다.(행 14:19-23).

         사도 바울은 에베소 성도들이 자신이 받는 많은 환난들을 보고 마음이 상하는 것을 보면서 오히려 그들을 격려했습니다: “그러므로 너희가 너희로 인한 나의 환난들 때문에 낙심하지 않기를 바라노라. 그것은 너희의 영광아니라.”(엡 3:13)

        그렇습니다! 사도 바울은 그리스도 안에서 공동상속자가 되는 신비로운 소망을 알았기에 어떤 환난도 기뻐하면서 하나님의 교회를 위하여 모든 고난을 받았던 것입니다. 하나님께서는 그리스도 안에서 받는 영적 축복인 장자권을 수단과 방법을 가리지 않고 형 에서로부터 취했던 야곱은 사랑하였고, 그 장자권을 팥죽 한 그릇에 팔아버린 에서는 미워했다고 말라기 선지자는 증거했습니다(말 1:2-3).  하나님의 선지자 오바댜도 에서의 자손인 에돔 족속들이 주의 날에 받을 심판에 대하여 증거했습니다(옵 1:15,16) 오늘날에도 하나님께서는 이 세상에서 온갖 환난을 당해도 그리스도의 날에 주실 영원한 유업의 축복을 소망하는 그리스도인들은 사랑하시나 땅에 있는 정욕을 따라가면서 그리스도 안에 있는 축복을 경시하는 그리스도인들을 미워하는 것입니다. 이에 대하여 야고보는 그런 자들에 대하여 간음하는 남자들과 여자들이라고 증거했습니다(약 4:4). 히브리서 기자는 “음행하는 자나, 한 그릇 음식을 위하여 장자권을 판 에서와 같이 속된 자가 없도록 하라. 너희가 아는 바와 같이 그후 그가 축복을 유업으로 받으려고 했을 때 거절당하였으며, 눈물로 간절히 구했지만 회개의 기회를 얻지 못하였느니라.”(히 12:16,17)고 경고했습니다.

         마지막으로 사도 바울은 에베소에 있는 신실한 성도들을 위하여 무릎을 꿇고 기도했습니다: “하나님께서 그의 영광의 풍요함을 따라 그의 성령을 통하여 너희 속 사람 안에서 능력으로 너희를 겅건케 하시고, 믿음으로 그리스도가 너희 마음 속에 거하게 하시며 너희가 사랑 안에서 뿌리를 내리고 터를 닦아 모든 성도들과 함께 그 너비와 길이와 높이가 얼마인가를 깨달을 수 있게 해 주시며 또 지식을 초월한 그리스도의 사랑을 알아너희가 하나님의 모든 충만함으로 가득 차기를 구하노라. 이제 우리 안에서 역사히시는 능력을 따라 우리가 구하는 것이나 생각하는 모든 것보다 훤씬 풍성하게 행하실 수 있는 그분께 그리스도 예수를 통하여 교회 안에서 그분께 영광이 모든 시대들, 곧 끝없는 세상에 걸쳐 있을지어다. 아멘.”(엡 3:16-21)

 사도 바울은 지금 이 순간에도 하늘에서 우리들을 위하여 또한 지상에 있는 모든 하나님의 교회들을 위하여 주님과 함께 영광 가운데 나타날 때까지 동일한 기도를 하고 있을 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 23:1-6

Subject: Mysterious knowledge in the glorious gospel of Christ

       Apostle Paul testifies of the mysterious knowledge in the church of God unto the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. One thing that made him anxious for him at that time was that the Lord Jesus Christ revealed  the mysterious in Christ only unto him. This was because he wrote this letter of the mysterious knowledge in Christ only unto the specially faithful saints in Ephesus. Not only to the faithful in Ephesus, but he also wrote a same kind of letter unto all that was in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints (Rom. 1:7).

        Apostle Paul said unto them, “When ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.”(Eph. 3:4) Of this mystery of Christ, Apostle Paul also testified unto the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: “ 26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”(Col. 1:26,27)

In other word, this is the mysterious knowledge that is revealed only unto them that Christ dwells within, and this is the hope of glory to receive in Christ in the future.

        Because of the mysterious knowledge in Christ that he understand, Apostle Paul confessed he rejoice in his suffering for the saints in the church of God of which head is Christ. Not only rejoicing, but he filled up that which is behind of the affections of Christ in his flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church. And he also testified of himself firmly  that was made a minister according to the dispensation of God which is given to him for them to fulfill the word of God (Col. 1:24, 25)

        And before Apostle Paul testified of the knowledge of mystery, he testified, having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself; that is the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him (Eph. 1:9, 10).

       But the knowledge of mystery was not made known unto the sons of men in the time if Adam, or Noah, or Abraham, and or in the time of the law since Moses. This knowledge of mystery has been known unto the prophets as well as the apostles since Christ died for the sin of the word according to the scriptures, and buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures; and he was lifted into heaven; and the Holy Ghost came to the earth in the name of Jesus Christ.

        At last, Apostle Paul testified of the knowledge of mystery: “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”(Eph. 3:6) And of being the fellowheirs in Christ, he testified unto the saints in Rome in ore details: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”(Rom. 8:16-18)

        Of the glory that we shall receive,  he testified, this is the glory that we shall receive along with the gospel of grace giving us the eternal life; and he called it the glorious gospel of Christ.. When he wrote a letter unto the saints in Corinthians church, he  testified, the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believed not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of God in the face of Jesus Christ(2Cor. 4:4). In other word, Apostle Paul warned, Satan that is the god of this world is seducing the people in the world showing the glory of the wicked world that he is reigning for short period of time lest they should see the eternal glorious gospel in Christ Jesus. The Satan that is the devil showed all this world even to the Lord Jesus asking him to worship him promising to give him the whole world.

          Apostle Paul wrote a letter unto the saints in Colosse of the glory in Christ Jesus saying, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”(Col. 4:1-4)

In other word, he testified of the glory for us, in the day of Christ, the day of Rapture, when we are changed into the glorious body to meet with the Lord in the air, and stand before the judgment seat of Christ, and led to the wedding of the Lamb of God, and to be one body with him to reign in heaven and earth.

        Because of this glory, Apostle Paul foresaw the glory of the church of God that is one body with Christ where the people are united as one body to receive this glory, whether they are Jew or Gentiles; and he rejoiced in his suffering for the body of Christ that is the church of God. Even when he was stoned to death, and rose again from death, he continued to travel to city to city to preach the gospel; and taught many people; and strengthened the soul of the disciples; and encouraged them to be in faith, and said unto them, “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” And he put them in the hand of the Lord. (Acts 14:19-23)

 Apostle Paul even encouraged the saints in Ephesus seeing them discouraged by his sufferings  saying, “Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.”(Eph. 3:13)

        Yea! Apostle Paul understood the mysterious hope that he shall be the joint-heir in Christ, he rejoiced all kinds of tribulation to receive tribulation for the church of God. God loved Jacob, for he took the birthright from his brother, Esau even with crafted method, but he hated Esau, for he sold his own birthright exchanging with pottage, as testified by prophet Malachi (Mal. 1:2,3). The prophet of God, Obadiah prophesied of the judgment  of Edom in the day of the LORD (Oba. 1:15,16). Nowadays, God loves the Christian that endures all kinds of tribulation in the hope of eternal inheritance in Christ to receive in the day of Christ, he still hates them that follow the lust of the world ignoring the blessing in Christ. Of them, James called them as adulterers and adulteresses (Jam. 4:4). The writer of Hebrews warned toward them saying, “Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”(Heb. 12:16,17)

        Finally, Apostle Paul bowed his knees unto the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ for them saying, “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”(Eph. 3:16-21)

Apostle Paul may be praying in heaven  for us and all the churches of God in the earth until he appears gloriously with the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! Hallelujah!
