금주의 묵상: 시편 22:1-31

본문: 디도서 3:2-7

제목: 하나님이 말씀하시는 “선”(善)의 의미

     하나님께서는 선지자 에레미야를 통하여 율법을 행하여 의롭게 되려고 하는 이스라엘 백성들을 향하여 말씀하셨습니다: “에디오피아인이 그의 피부를 바꿀 수 있으며 표범이 그의 점들을 바꿀 수 있겠느냐? 그렇다면 악을 행하는데 익숙한 너희도 선을 행할 수 있으리라.”(렘 13:23)

다시 말해서, 하나님께서 보시기에 선을 행할 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없다는 것입니다. 어떤 사람도 선을 행할 수 없다는 것은 하나님의 기준으로 볼 때 사람이 행하는 선은 선이 아니라는 말씀인 것입니다.

       이 사실을 깨달았던 다윗왕은 “어리석은 자는 자기 마음에 말하기를 ‘하나님은 없다.’ 하였도다. 그들은 부패하고 가증한 일들을 행하였으니, 선을 행하는 자가 아무도 없도다. 그들은 모두 곁길로 갔으며 그들이 모두 함께 더럽게 되어 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 없도다, 한 사람도 없도다.”(시 14;1-3)라고 고백했습니다.

        사도 바울도 온 세상이 하나님 앞에서 유죄인 것을 성령 안에서 깨닫고 선포했습니다: “유대인들이나 이방인들이나 다 죄 아래 있다고 우리가 이미 증거하였느니라. 의인은 없나니 없도다. 한 사람도 없도다. 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없도다. 모두가 탈선하여 함께 무익하게 되었으며 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 없도다. 한 사람도 없도다. 그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤이요, 그들이 자기 혀로는 속였으며 그들의 입술 아래는 독사의 독이 있고 그들의 입은 저주와 독설로 가득 차고그들의 발은 피흘리는데 빠른지라. 파멸과 비참함이 그들의 길에 있고 그들은 평강의 길을 알지 못했으며 그들의 눈 앞에는 하나님을 두려워함이 없도다.”(롬 3:9-18)

다시 말해서 구원받아 성령으로 다시 태어나기 전에는 누구나 예외 없이 이와 같은 상태에 있다는 것입니다. 또한 구원받기 전 우리의 모습이기도 한 것입니다.

        어떤 사람이 자신의 생각에 선을 행함으로써 자신이 의로워질 수 있다고 생각하고 있다면, 이는 마치 쓰레기 통이 손과 발이 있어서 돌아다니며 다른 쓰레기통에게 좋은 일을 하면서 이 좋은 일로 인하여 자기 안에 있는 더러운 것들이 깨끗해졌다라고 착각하는 것과 다름없을 것입니다. 그 쓰레기 통이 아무리 좋은 일을 행할지라도 그 선행을 받는 사람에게는 유익이 될지 모르지만 그 쓰레기통은 여전히 쓰레기통인 것입니다..

      하나님께서 아무도 선을 행할 수 없다고 말씀하신 것은 사람의 양심 속에 들어있는 더러운 쓰레기 같은 죄악들을 제거할 수 있는 사람은 이 세상에 아무도 없다는 것이며 이는 죄가 없으신 하나님 한 분만이 선하신 분이시라고 성경은 말씀하고 있습니다. 어떤 사람이 예수께 와서 무릎을 꿇고 묻기를 “선한 선생님, 내가 영생을 얻으려면 어떤 선한 일을 해야 하리이까? “(마 19:16) 하고 물었을 때, 주님께서 말씀하시기를 “어찌하여 네가 나를 선하다고 하느냐? 하나님 한 분 외에는 선한 이가 없느니라.”(마 19:17)고 하셨습니다. 그 사람은 예수님이 하나님이신 줄 몰랐기 때문에 그 사람의 수준에서 대답하셨던 것입니다.

        그렇습니다. 하나님 한 분만이 선하십니다. 또한 그분만이 선한 일을 하실 수 있는 분이십니다. 하나님이신 예수께서는 “나는 선한 목자라, 선한 목자는 양들을 위하여 자신의 생명을 내오놓으나 삮꾼은 목자가 아니요, 양들도 자기 양들이 아니므로 이리가 오는 것을 보면 양들을 버려두고 도망치느니라. 그리하여 이리가 양들을 채가고 흩어지게 하느니라.”(요 10:11,12)고 말씀하셨습니다. 다시 말해서 자신이 선한 일을 하시는 목자라는 뜻입니다. 선한 일은 자신의 죽음을 통하여 죄인을 선한 사람으로 만드시는 분이라는 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님의 눈으로 볼 때에 선하게 보이거나 착하게 보이는 어떤 사람도 여전히 죄인이기 때문에 선하거나 착하다고 여겨질 수 없으며 아무리 겉으로 선한 일을 해도 하나님의 눈에는 선한 일로 여겨지지도 않는 다는 것입니다.

         사람이 아담의 자손으로 태어날 때에도 어머니가 흘리는 피 속으로부터 나와 핏덩이로 태어나듯이 죄인을 하나님의 아들로 태어나게 하기 위해서 하나님께서는 자신의 독생자이신 예수 그리스도가 흘리신 피가 죄인 속으로 흘러들어가게 하셔서 안에 있는 죄들을 씻어 제거하시고 성령으로 다시 태어나게 하시는 것입니다. 이 새로운 출생을 설명하시기 위해 예수께서 거듭남에 대해 무지한 니고데모에게 말씀하셨습니다: “진실로 진실로 내가 너에게 말하노니, 사람이 물과 성령으로 태어나지 아니하면 하나님 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라. 육신으로 난 것은 육이요, 또 성령으로 난 것은 영이니라. 내가 너에게 ‘너희는 거듭나야만 한다.’고 말한 것을 이상히 여기지 말라.”(요 3:5-7)

      그러므로 본문에서 사도바울은 “우리도 한때는 어리석고 복종치 아니하며, 미혹당하고, 여러가지 욕심과 쾌락에 종노릇 하며, 악과 시기 속에서 살고, 가증스러우며, 서로 증오하는 자였으나, 그후 인간을 향한 우리 구주 하나님의 인자하심과 사랑이 나타나서 우리가 행한 의로운 행위에 의하지 않고 그의 자비하심에 따라 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 우리를 구원하셨으니 이 성령을 예수 그리스도 우리 구주를 통하여 우리에게 풍성히 부어주셨느니라. 이는 우리가 그의 은혜로 인하여 의롭게 되어 영원한 생명의 소망을 따라 상속자들이 되게 하심이라.”(딛 3:3-7)고 분명하게 증거한 것입니다.

        그렇습니다! 산모가 자신의 아이을 낳는 일에도 엄청난 진통과 피흘림 없이는 불가능한 것처럼 예수 그리스도께서는 한 사람의 죄인을 죄 없는 하나님의 아들로 태어나게 하시기 위하여 죄와 피흘리기 까지(히 9:22; 12:4) 싸우시면서 우리 죄인들을 하나님의 왕국(롬 14:17)에서 다시 태어나게 하신 것입니다. “중생의 씻음“(the washing of regeneration)은 예수 그리스도의 피로 우리를 씻어서 거룩하게하시고 성령을 주셔서 우리의 영을 새롭게 하셨습니다(renewing of the Holy Ghost).  이로 인하여 죄악 세상에 살다가 지옥으로 떨어져 하나님과 영원히 분리되어 영원토록 고통 가운데 살 수밖에 없는 우리들을 구원하신 것입니다. 그러므로 이천 년 전에 갈보리에서 온 세상에 뿌리신 그리스도의 피를 믿어 피뿌림을 받기만 하면 누구나 조건 없는 은혜로 거듭나서 선한 일을 할 수 있는 의인이 되는 것입니다.

        예수님과 함께 못박혔던 한 강도는 주님께서 흘리시는 피를 바라보면서 “주여, 주께서 주의 왕국이 임하실 때 나를 기억하소서“(눅 23:45)라고 주님의 이름을 불렀을 때 단 몇 초만에 구원을 받았습니다. 그러나 오늘날 수많은 종교지도자들, 즉 가인의 후예들은 여전히 자신들의 행위로 구원을 받겠다고 하나님의 교회와 온 세상을 향하여 미혹하면서 은혜로 구원받은 아벨의 자손들을 여전히 박해하며 죽이고 있는 것입니다.

      그러므로 사도 바울은 우리를 거듭나게 하신 이유에 대하여 “이 말씀은 신실하도다. 나는 네가 이런 것들에 관하여 강력하게 확언하기를 원하노니, 이는 하나님을 믿는 사람들이 선한 일들에 유념하여 진력하게 하려 함이라. 이런 것들은 선하며 사람들에게 유익하니라.”(딛 3:8)고 그의 참 아들 디도에게 편지 한 것입니다. 다시 말해서 성령으로 다시 태어난 사람만이 선한 일을 할 수 있는 것입니다.

        지금 이 순간에도 주님께서는 성령님을 통하여 죄에 대하여, 의에 대하여, 심판에 대하여 세상을 착망하시기 위하여 우리 안에서 말할 수 없는 신음 가운데 그리스도의 피 복음을 전하라고 재촉하고 있는 것입니다. 한 사람이라도 더 거듭나기를 바라시면서 참고 계시는 것입니다. 주님께서 다시 이 땅에 나타나실 때 사람의 죄로 인해 저주받은 이 지구도 다시 태어나게 하실 것입니다. 주님께서 이 세상을 떠나시기 전에 모든 것을 버려두고 주님을 따랐던 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다: “진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 나를 따르는 너희들은 인자가 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉을 새 세대(regeneration: 중생)에 너희도 열두 보좌에 앉아 이스라엘 열두 지파를 심판하리라.”(마 19:28)

        주님께서는 때가 차서 그분의 뜻이 이 땅에 이루어져야 할 때기 오면 사람의 죄로 인해 저주받았던 이 땅도 다시 태어나게(중생 <重生>) 하실 것에 대하여 말씀하신 것입니다. 선지자 이사야는 주님께서 다시 오셔서 이 땅을 새롭게 하시는 천년왕국에 일어날 일에 대하여 분명하게 예언했습니다: “또한 이리가 어린양과 함께 거하며 표범이 새끼 염소와 함께 누울 것이요, 송아지와 어린 사자와 실진 짐승이 함께하며 어린 아이가 그들을 이끌리라. 암소와 곰이 함께 먹으며 그것들의 새끼들이 함께 누울 것이요, 사자가 소처럼 짚을 먹으리라. 또 젖먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 장난하며, 젖뗀 아이가 독사의 굴에 손을 넣으리라. 그들은 나의 모든 거룩한 산에서 해치거나 파괴시키지 않으리니 이는 마치 물들이 바다를 덮음같이 세상이 주의 지식으로 충만할 것임이니라….광야와 메마른 곳이 그들을 기뻐하고, 사막이 기뻐하며 장미처럼 피리라. 그것들이 무성하게 되어 기쁨과 노래로 즐거워할 것이요, 레바논의 영광, 곧 칼멜과 샤론의 아름다움이 그것에게 주어지리라. 그들이 주의 영광과 주의 하나님의 아름다움을 보리로다….그때에 소경의 눈이 뜨이며 귀머거리의 귀가 뚫리리라. 그때에 절름바리가 사슴처럼 뛰고 벙어리의 혀는 노래하리라.”(사 11:6-9; 35:1,2,5,6)

        그러므로 우리는 이 날을 바라보면서 다윗왕처럼 우리를 괴롭히던 원수의 목전에서 밥상을 베푸실 주님을 바라보면서 주님께서 오시는 날까지 그분이 인도하시는 쉴만한 물가와 푸른 초장이 있는 하나님의 교회(시 23:1,2,5)와 연합하여 하나님의 왕국과 하나님의 의를 전파하는 선한 일에 진력할 때에 어느날 그분께서 오셔서 상을 주실 것입니다. 이멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 22:1-31

Main scripture: Titus 3:2-7

Subject: The meaning of “good” in the word of God

        The LORD God spoke through prophet Jeremiah unto the people of Israel that were looking for the righteousness through keeping the law :

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.”(Jer. 13:23)

In other word, there is none that is able to do good to the eyes of God. He means, even though man does good, it can’t be good according to the standard of God.

        King David understood this truth, and testified:

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”(Ps. 14:1-4)

        Apostle Paul also understood in the Holy Ghost that the whole world is guilty before God, and testified:

“What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

And the way of peace have they not known:

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”(Rom. 3:9-18)

In other word, unless man is saved to be born of the Spirit, everyman is under sin without any exception. And this miserable situation is ours, before we are saved.

        If any one is thinking of himself to be righteous by doing good in his thought, it is as if trash can were thinking of itself to be clean within it because it has done good using its hands and feet for other trash cans. Even though the trash can may do such good thing for others, it could be benefit for others, but the trash can itself is still a trash can.

        When God proclaimed, no one can do good, no one can take away the sins as trashes inside the conscience of man in the world. This means, only God is good, because he has no sin at all as testified by the word of God. A man kneeled down, and asked Jesus: “Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”(Matt. 19:16)

Jesus answered him saying, “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.”(Matt. 19:17)

Jesus answered him in his level of understanding, for he didn’t know, Jesus is God.

        Yea! God is the one that is good; and he is the only one that can do good also. Jesus said unto his disciples as God:

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.”(John 10:11,12)

In other word, he is the shepherd that dose good. He meant, the good thing that is going to be done by him is to make sinners good men through his death. Therefore, any one that seems to be good is still sinner to the eyes of God; and he cannot be considered as good one. Even though he do good outwardly, it is not good at all.

      As man is born as the son of Adam  of his mother in the midst of the blood shed by her as bloody body, to be born of God, the blood of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God has to flow into sinners to clean the sins to take them away, and to be born of the Spirit. Jesus explained about the new birth unto Nicodemus:

“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”(John 3:5-7)

        In the main passage, Apostle Paul testified very clearly:   

 “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”(Tit. 3:3-7)

        Yea! As it is impossible for a woman delivers a child unless she passes through so much labor pains as well as bleeding, Jesus Christ fought with sins in the midst of suffering shedding his blood to give birth unto sinners to deliver them into the kingdom of God (Rom. 14:17). “The washing of regeneration” is to wash us with the blood of Jesus Christ to make us holy, and to renew our spirit through the Holy Ghost; Through these process, he saved us; we were destined to be separated from God eternally to live in the midst of pain in the hell. Therefore, whosoever believes on the blood of Christ sprinkled unto the whole world two thousand years ago can be born again by grace without any condition through receiving the sprinkling of his blood, and he is justified to be able to do good.

        A thief that was crucified together with Christ looked upon the blood of Christ shedding on the cross, and he just called upon the name of the Lord by faith saying, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.”(Luke 23:45)

And he was saved in several seconds. But so many religious leaders that are the children of Cain have been seducing the churches of God as well as the world crying out the salvation by good works, And they are still persecuting the children of Abel that are saved by grace of God even to kill them.

        Therefore, Apostle Paul testified of the reason why God made us to be born again of the Spirit unto his true son, Titus saying, “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”(Tit. 3:8) In other word, only they that are born of the Spirit of God  can do good.

        Even this moment, the Lord Jesus is urging us  through the Holy Ghost with groaning within us to preach the gospel of the blood of Christ so that we may reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. He is waiting for someone to be born again with patience. When he appears again to the earth, he will regenerate the earth that was cursed because of sin of man. Jesus spoke unto the disciples that followed him leaving everything behind: “Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”(Matt. 19:28)

        He testified of the new birth of the earth unto them when time is fulfilled to make his will be done in the earth. Prophet Isaiah prophesied of the Millennium of Christ when he regenerated the earth:

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

……. The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.

….. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert”(Isa. 11:6-9; 35:1,2,5,6)

      Therefore, looking forward this day, if w are united with church of God  as the green pasture as well as still water, and  preach the kingdom of God and his righteousness as king David waited upon the Lord that will prepare a table before him in the presence of his enemies, he will reward us when he come again. Amen! Hallelujah!
