금주의 묵상: 시편 96:1-13

본문: 고린도전서 2:1-16

제목: 성령충만한 그리스도인에게 나타나는 표적

예수께서 제자들에게 “사람들은 인자인 나를 누구라고 말하느냐?”라고 물으셨습니다. 그때 그들은 “어떤 사람은 침례인 요한이라 하며, 어떤 사람들은 엘리야, 또 어떤 사람들은 예레미야 혹은 선지자들 가운데 한 사람이라 하나이다.”라고 대답했습니다. 그런 후에 예수께서 제자들에게 물으셨습니다. “그러면 너희는 나를 누구라고 말하느냐?” 그때 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 말씀드렸습니다. “주는 그리스도(the Christ), 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.” 그때에 예수께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “바요나 시몬아, 네가 복이 있도다. 이를 너에게 나타낸 것은 혈과 육이 아니라 하늘에 계신 나의 아버지시니라.”(마 16:13-17)

주님께서는 자신이 그리스도시며 살아계신 하나님의 아들이심을 아는 베드로에게 복이 있다고 말씀하셨습니다. 베드로가 대답한 그리스도는 Christ가 아니라, The Christ였던 것입니다. 다시 말해서 이 땅에 오시기로 예언된 그 그리스도라고 고백한 것입니다. 또한 베드로가 예수라는 사람으로 오신 그분이 그 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이라고 고백할 수 있었던 것은 사람들에게서 배운 어떤 지식으로 말한 것이 아니고 살아계신 아버지 하나님께서 직접 그에게 알게 하셨다고 말씀하셨습니다.

그렇습니다. 그 어떤 누구도 예수라는 사람으로 이천 년 전에 태어나신 그분이 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들, 즉 그분이 창조주 하나님이라는 사실을 알 수 없다고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서 직접 알려주시지 않으시면 알 수 없는 사실이라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 베드로는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 하나님께서 이 땅에 보내신 성령 하나님이 오시기 전에 예수님이 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이신 아들 하나님이신 것을 제일 먼저 아는 축복을 받은 사람이었습니다. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 오셔서 예수가 그리스도이심을 증거하기 전에는 아무도 몰랐는데 베드로는 특별한 축복을 받은 제자였습니다.

본문에서 사도 바울은 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못박히심 외에는 아무 것도 알지 않기로 작정하였다고 고린도 교회 성도들에게 증거하고 있습니다. 그의 고백 속에는 예수님이 그리스도이심을 아는 것과 그분께서 십자가에 못박하신 것만 알면 모든 것을 아는 것이라 고백한 것입니다. 다시 말해서 예수님이 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들이심과 왜, 그분께서 십자가에 못박히셨는 가를 알지 못하면 아무 것도 모르는 것이라고 증거한 것입니다.

예수님이 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님이심과 그의 십자가에 못박히신 것을 깨닫지 못했을 때 그의 삶은 그리스도이신 예수님을 믿는 그리스도인들을 박해하고 죽이는 일에 앞장 섰던 사람이었습니다. 그러나 그가 그리스도인들을 체포하기 위하여 다마스커스에 왔을 때 갑자기 하늘로부터 한 줄기 빛이 그를 둘러 비췄습니다. 그때 그는 놀라서 땅에 엎드려 그에게 말하는 음성을 들었습니다. “사울아, 사울아, 네가 왜 나를 박해하느냐?” 바로 그때 그는 빛 가운데 나타나신 예수님을 주라고 불렀습니다. “주여, 당신은 누구시나이까?” 그때 주께서“나는 네가 박해하는 예수라. 가시채를 걷어차는 것이 네게 고통이라.”고 말씀하셨습니다.

예수님이 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이심을 알게 된 순간 그는 예수께 “내가 어떻게 하기를 원하시나이까?”라고 물었습니다. 다시 말해서 그가 예수님이 그리스도이신 것을 알지 못하던 때에 하던 모든 일들은 악하고 헛된 일인 것을 깨닫는 순간 그는 어떻게 해야 하는지 앞이 캄캄해졌던 것입니다. 예수께서는 아나니아라는 제자를 그가 묵고 있던 곳으로 보내셔서 그에게 안수하여 그로 보게하고 성령으로 충만케 하였습니다. 그리고 그는 침례를 받았습니다 (행 9:10-18). 그후부터 그의 삶은 180도로 바뀌어서 그리스도를 박해하던 그가 그리스도를 위하여 박해받는 삶으로 바뀌게 된 것입니다. 그후에 그가 에베소 교회를 방문했을 때 그들에게 “너희가 믿은 후에 성령을 받았느냐?”라고 물었을 때, 그들은 그들은 성령이 있다는 것조차 듣지 못했다고 대답했습니다. 그때 사도 바울은 그들에게 그리스도이신 예수를 믿어야 한다고 설교했을 때 그들이 그리스도예수를 믿고 침례를 받았으며 사도 바울이 안수하였을 때 성령께서 그들에게 임하심으로 그들이 방언으로 말하며 예언하였습니다(행 19:1-6).

성령을 받아 그리스도인이 된 사도 바울은 그때부터 그가 말할 때나 설교할 때나 더 이상 인간의 지혜로 말하지 않고 성령과 능력을 나타냄으로 하였다고 증거하고 있습니다. 다시 말해서 예수께서 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이심을 설교할 때에 성령께서 능력으로 나타나시지 않으면 어느누구도 십자가에 못박히신 예수님이 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 창조주 하나님이심을 알 수 없다고 증거한 것입니다. 또한 세상에서 배우는 지식, 즉 세상의 지혜도 예수님이 그리스도, 곧 하나님의 아들이심을 알 수 없으며, 아무리 위대한 통치자라 할지라도 알 수 없다고 그는 단언하고 있습니다. 그가 성령으로 거듭나기 전에는 인간의 지혜, 세상 지혜 뿐만 아니라 통치자의 지혜까지 겸비하였지만 그는 예수님이 그리스도이심을 알 수 없었을뿐만 아니라 오히려 그를 박해하는 편에 섰던 경험이 있기에 담대하게 증거할 수 있었던 것입니다.

그렇다면, 왜 사도 바울은 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못박히심 외에는 아무 것도 알지 않기로 작정했는지 깊히 묵상해 보아야 할 것입니다. 성령이 없는 사람은 그를 어리석은 사람 중에 어리석은 자며 미친자라고 여길 수밖에 없는 것입니다. 그가 아그립파왕에게 그가 만난 그리스도이신 예수님을 증거했을 때에 그가 큰 음성으로 바울에게 “바울아, 네가 미쳤구나. 많은 지식이 너를 미치게 하였구나.”라고 말했으며 그는 “내가 미친 것이 아니요, 다만 진리와 분별의 말을 하고 있나이다.”라고 대답했습니다(행 26:1-25).

아그립파왕의 말 가운데 사도 바울이 그리스도를 알기 전에 얼마나 많은 세상 지식과 지혜를 공부했는지 알 수 있습니다. 그는 그가 알던 세상 지식과 지혜를 배설물(dung)처럼 여기고 버리고 또한 그에게 유익했던 모든 것을 그리스도를 위하여 버렸으며 그리스도이신 예수, 곧 주 하나님이신 그리스도를 아는 지식이 가장 고상하다고 빌립보에 있는 성도들에게 편지했던 것입니다 (빌 3:7-9).

사도 바울은 자신이 그리스도이신 예수를 아는 것이 가장 고상하다고 여긴 이유에 대하여 본문에서 증거하고 있습니다: 그는 선지자 이사야 를 통하여 예언된 기록된 말씀을 인용했습니다: “하나님께서 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 것들은 눈으로 보지도 못하였고 귀로 듣지도 못하였으며 인간의 마음 속에 들어온 적도 없었느니라.”

“그러나 하나님께서 이것들을 우리에게 그의 영으로 나타내셨으니, 이는 성령께서는 모든 것, 심지어 하나님의 영이 아니면 아무도 모르니느라”고 증거했습니다.

그가 인용한 선지자 이사야의 말씀은 “오 원컨대 주께서 하늘들을 가르고 내려오시며, 산들도 주의 면전에서 흘러내리기를 용해하는 불길이 타서 그 불이 물을 끓게 하는 것같이 되게 하시며, 주의 이름을 주의 대적들에게 알게 하셔서 민족들로 주의 면전에서 떨게 하소서! 주께서 내려오셔서 우리가 바라지 않았던 두려운 일들을 행하셨을 때, 산들이 주의 면전에서 흘러내렸나이다. 이는 세상이 시작된 이래로 사람들이 들은 적도 없고, 귀로 깨닫지도 못하엿으며, 눈으로 보지도 못하였음이니 오 하나님이여, 주 외에는 주께서 주를 기다리는 자를 위하여 예비하신 것을 아는 자가 없나이다.”(사 64:1-4)

사도 요한은 이 광경을 성령 안에서 보고 그의 계시록에 기록하였습니다. 마침내 하늘문이 열리고 그리스도이신 예수께서 “만왕의 왕, 만주의 주“로 오셔서 아마겟돈에서 모든 민족들을 심판하시고 짐승인 적그리스도와 거짓선지자를 불못에 던져넣으시고 큰 용, 마귀를 결박하여 끝없이 깊은 구렁 속으로 던져 천 년 동안 가두신 후에 이 땅에 그리스도의 천년왕국을 세우시는 장면을 보고 기록했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 마지막 백보좌 심판의 광경과 그후에 영원한 새 하늘과 새 땅과 새 예루살렘을 보고 증거하면서 앞으로 이천 년 동안 지상에 살게 될 모든 사람들을 향하여 말했습니다. “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 너희 모두와 함께 할지어다. 아멘“(계 19:11-22:21)

에덴 동산에서 하나님께서 뱀인 마귀에게 “그녀의 씨(그리스도)는 너의 머리를 부술 것이요, 너는 그의 발꿈치를 부술 것이라.”(창 3;15)고 뱀인 마귀에게 말씀하신 것처럼, 남자의 씨가 아닌 여자의 씨로 죄없이 나타나신 하나님의 독생자이신 그리스도 예수께서 이 세상에 나타나셔서 십자가에 못박히신 것은 예수 그리스도의 왕국을 하늘과 땅에 세우시기 전에 사람이 해결할 수 없는 세 가지를 해결하시기 위한 것임을 사도 바울은 알았던 것입니다. 즉 그가 못박혀 죽으시고 셋째 날에 죽은자로부터 살아나시지 않았다면 어느누구도 죄와 사망과 저주로부터 구원받을 수없게 되어 모든 사람은 지옥형벌의 저주로부터 피할 수 없는 것을 깨달은 사도 바울은 평생을 성경대로 그리스도의 은혜의 복음(고전 15:1-5)을 전했던 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 성령 하나님께서는 지난 이천 년 동안 성령으로 거듭나서 예수가 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이심을 깨달은 수많은 성령으로 거듭나서 성령충만 받은 제자들을 통하여 복음을 전하여 하나님의 왕국으로 인도했던 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 96:1-13

Main scripture: 1Corinthians 2:1-16

Subject: The sign manifested from Spirit filled man knowing Christ by faith

        Jesus asked unto his disciples, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” Then, they answered unto him, “Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” Afterwards, Jesus asked them again, “But whom say ye that I am?” Simon Peter answered unto Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus spoke unto Peter, “Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”(Matt. 16:13-17)

        Jesus spoke unto Peter, he is blessed for he know Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God. Peter not answered unto him as Christ, but as the Christ. In other word, Peter confessed unto Jesus as the Christ prophesied to come to the earth. The Father God himself revealed him of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God; Peter didn’t speak of Jesus according to any kind knowledge from the world as Jesus testified.

Yea! Jesus means, no one can understand about Jesus who was born two thousand years ago as the Christ, the Son of living God as well as the God the Creator unless God let him know. Peter is the real blessed man, for he had known Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God for the first time, even before the Holy Ghost came to the world in the name of Jesus Christ from Father God. No one knew about Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God, before the Holy Ghost testified of him coming in the name of Jesus; Peter was so much blessed for knowing him before the Holy Ghost came.

Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of Corinthians, he determined not to know any thing among them, save Jesus Christ and him crucified. In his confession, he means, knowing Jesus Christ and him crucified is knowing all things. In other word, not knowing Jesus as the Christ as well as him crucified is knowing nothing.

When he not understood of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God, his life was standing at the front line to persecute and kill Christians. When he came near Damascus to arrest Christians; and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. And he fell down to the ground, and heard a voice saying unto him, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” At that moment, he called Jesus as the Lord, saying, “Who art thou, Lord?” Then Jesus answered him, “I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”

      As soon as he knew Jesus as the Christ, the Song of living God, he asked Jesus, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”

In other word, knowing all things what he had done not knowing Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God as evil as well as in vain, his heart was darkened not knowing what he was supposed to do. Then, Jesus sent a disciple at Damascus, named Ananias, and let him put his hand on him; and he received his sight again and be filled with the Holy Ghost, and he was baptized(Acts 9:10-18). Afterwards, his life was changed as 180 degrees, and he became the disciple of Jesus to be persecuted for the sake of Jesus whom he persecuted before. When he visited the church of Ephesians he asked them, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?”  They not knew whether there be any Holy Ghost. Then he preached them the gospel of Christ for them to believe on Jesus as the Christ, they believed on Jesus Christ and baptized. And when he laid his hands on them; they spoke with tongues and prophesied (Acts 19:1-6).

Since he became a Christian receiving the Holy Ghost, his speech and his preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power, as he testified. In other word, upon preaching about Jesus Christ, the Son of living God, it is impossible for any one to understand Jesus Christ, and him crucified without the demonstration of the Spirit and power. And he asserted, the wisdom of the world that is the knowledge learned in the world cannot understand Jesus as the Christ, the Son of living God, even any great prince either. Before he was born again of the Spirit of God, he was equipped with the wisdom of man and of the world, and of the princes of the world; but he couldn’t understand who Jesus is so that he rather persecuted him. Based on his personal experience, he was able to testify boldly of the very important truth.

Then, we need to meditate deeply why Apostle Paul determined not to know any thing except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Man without the Holy Ghost cannot help recognizing him as the fool of fools as well as crazy one. When he testified unto king Agrippa of Christ Jesus, he said with a loud voice, “Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.” And he answered him, “I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.”(Acts 26:1-25)

Through the word of Agrippa, we know how much knowledge of the word as well as the wisdom of the world Apostle Paul used to have before he became a Christian. He sent a letter to testify, he forsake the knowledge of the world as well as the wisdom thereof as dung; and what things were gain to him was counted loss for Christ knowing the knowledge of Christ Jesus his Lord as the excellence (Phil. 3:7-9).

Of the reason why the knowledge of Christ Jesus his Lord as excellence, he testifies in the main passage quoting a prophesy of prophet Isaiah: “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

        The word of prophesy of Isaiah that he quoted is:

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.”(Isa. 64:1-4)

        Apostle John saw this scene in the Spirit, and wrote in the book of Revelation. Finally, heaven opened, and Christ Jesus comes as “King of Kings, Lord of Lords” to judge all the nations at the Armageddon; and cast out the Antichrist and the false prophet into the lake of fire; and he cast the dragon, Satan into the bottomless pit for thousand years to establish the Millennium of Christ Jesus in the earth. he also wrote about the final judgment seat of God, and the eternal world thereafter as New heavens, hew earth, and New Jerusalem as well. Finally he spoke unto all people that shall live two thousand years in the earth, “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”(Rev. 19:11-22:21)

As God spoke unto the serpent, that is the devil, “it (the seed of womanthat is the Christ)shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”(Gen. 3:15), Apostle Paul understood, the only begotten Son of God was crucified to take away sin and death and curses before he establish his kingdom in heaven and earth. In other word, no one cane be delivered form sin and death and curses in the hell , unless Christ Jesus was crucified, and rose again from the dead the third day. Therefore, Apostle determined to spend his whole life to preach the gospel of Christ of grace according to the scriptures (1Cor. 15:1-5). Not only he, but so many born again disciple of Christ Jesus filled with the Holy Ghost have been preaching the gospel to invite souls to the kingdom of God. Amen! Hallelujah!
