금주의 묵상: 시편 105:1-23

본문: 창세기 37:1-11

제목: 요셉처럼 감사로 인내하며 꿈을 이룰 때까지 거룩한 삶을 살자!

       본문에 등장하는 요셉이 하나님께서 보여 주신 꿈을 믿고 증거했을 때 그의 삶 속에서 겪은 고난들과 그 결말을 봄으로써 그리스도께서 받으신 고난들과 지금도 하나님께서 말씀들을 통하여 주신 꿈들을 믿고 행하는 그리스도인들이 겪어야 할 고난들과 보상을 미리 보는 축복의 시간이 되시기 바랍니다.

      이스라엘(야곱)은 그가 늙어서 얻은 요셉을 특별히 사랑했습니다. 이로 인하여 요셉은 형들로부터 미움을 받았습니다. 더구나 그가 꾼 꿈 얘기를 하였을 때 형들은 그를 더욱 더 미워하게 되었습니다. 아브라함이 살아있을 때에도 하나님의 약속을 받지 못한 종의 아들 이스마엘이 아브라함의 약속을 이어받을 약속의 자녀인 이삭을 희롱한 적이 있었습니다. 사도 바울은 갈라디아 교회 성도들에게 “그때에 육신을 따라 난 자가 성령을 따라 난 자를 박해하였던 것처럼 지금도 그러하도다.”(갈 4:29)라고 증거했습니다.

        하나님께서는 약속을 주신 요셉에게 꿈을 통하여 앞으로 그를 통하여 이루실 일들을 미리 보여주셨습니다. 요셉은 하나님께서 자신에게 꿈을 통하여 하신 말씀들을 마음으로 믿었을 뿐만 아니라 형들 앞에서 공개적으로 입술로 시인했던 것입니다. 마찬가지로 하나님의 자녀들은 하나님의 말씀 안에 있는 꿈을 마음으로 믿을 뿐만 아니라 사람들 앞에서 증거해야 하는 것입니다. 지금도 하나님의 약속의 자녀들 역시 육신적인 사람들로부터 여전히 미움과 핍박을 받고 있습니다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 자녀들에게 주신 꿈은 이 세상이 심판 받을 것에 대하여 증거하기 때문입니다. 또한 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주가 오실 때 그와 함께 다스리는 꿈을 주셨기 때문입니다.

      요셉은 형들에게 자신이 꾼 꿈을 믿음으로 증거했습니다: “보소서, 우리가 들에서 곡식단들을 묶고 있는데, 내 단이 일어서서 똑바로 서더니, 보소서, 형들의 단들이 둘러서서 내 단에 경의를 표하더이다.”

그때, 그의 형들은 “네가 참으로 우리를 치리하겠느냐? 아니면 네가 참으로 우리를 다스리겠느냐?”라고 말하며 그의 말로 인하여 그를 더욱 미워하게 되었습니다.

      하나님께서는 또 다른 꿈을 그에게 꾸게 하셨고, 그는 형들에게 또 다시 말했습니다: “보소서, 해와 달과 열한 개의 별들이 내게 경의를 표하더이다.” 그는 그 꿈을 형들뿐만 아니라 그의 아버지 이스라엘에게 말했을 때에 그의 아비가 그를 꾸짖었으나 그의 아비는 그의 말에 주목했습니다. 그러나 형들은 그를 더욱 더 시기하기 시작했습니다.

      여기에서 우리는 하나님께서 사랑하시는 독생자 예수 그리스도께서 이 땅에 오셨을 때 그의 육신적인 형제들인 유대인들로부터 시기받고 박해받으신 것을 기억하게 됩니다. 주님께서는 아버지께서 주신 모든 말씀들을 하나도 남김 없이 전하심으로써 육신적인 유대인들로부터 끊임 없이 수많은 핍박을 받으시고 마침내 종의 형체처럼 십자가에서 죽으셨던 것입니다.

    주님께서는 자신이 하나님의 아들이시며, 창조주시며, 하나님 자신이시고 장차 세상을 심판하시기 위하여 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오실 것들에 대하여 여러 가지 표적들을 통하여 증거하셨지만 마귀의 종들인 바리새인들과 서기관들 그리고 사두개인들을 비롯한 유대인들은 그 사실을 알면서도 그분을 시기하고 미워하여 백성들을 선동하여 그분을 십자가에 못박았던 것입니다.

      요셉 역시 하나님께서 꿈을 통하여 주시는 말씀을 마음에 새기며 살았던 것을 그의 삶을 통하여 알 수 있습니다. 그는 아버지 야곱의 말씀에 순종하는 아들이었습니다. 어느날 아버지 심부름으로 양들을 치러 간 형들이 어떠한지 보려고 그들을 찾아갔습니다. 그때 그를 본 형들이 서로 말했습니다: “보라, 꿈꾸는 자가 오는도다. 그러므로 이제 오라, 우리가 그를 죽여서 그를 구덩이에다 던져 넣고, 우리가 말하기를 ‘어떤 악한 짐승이 그를 잡아먹었다.’ 하자. 그리고 그의 꿈들이 어떻게 되는지 우리가 볼 것이라“(창 37:19,20).

        에수님 당시 유대인 종교지도자들도 틈만 나면 어떻게든 예수님을 죽이려고 음모했습니다. 그리하여 마침내 주님을 붙잡아 십자가에 못박은 것입니다. 또한 성경대로 믿는 수많은 그리스도인들이 로마 카톨릭 종교단체로부터 미움울 받아 수없이 죽임을 당한 사실이 반 카톨릭 교회사에 기록되어 있습니다.

        요셉에게 주신 하나님의 꿈을 이루시기 위하여 하나님께서는 장자 르우벤을 사용하셨습니다. 르우벤이 그들의 말을 듣고 그가 그들의 손에서 그를 구해내기 위하여 “우리가 그를 죽이지는 말자.”고 다른 형제들에게 말했습니다. 연이어 “피를 흘리지 말자. 그를 광야에 있는 이 구덩이에 던져 넣고, 그에게 손을 대지 말자.”고 말했습니다. 결국 요셉은 구덩이 속으로 던져지게 되었습니다. 이때에 하나님께서는 자신의 뜻을 이루시려고 유다를 사용하셨습니다. “만일 우리가 동생을 죽이고, 피를 감추면 무엇이 유익한가? 오라, 그를 이스므엘인들에게 팔고, 우리 손을 그에게 대지 말자. 그는 우리의 형제요, 우리의 골육이라.”말했을 때, 하나님께서 그의 형제들이 동의하도록 인도하셨습니다.

       마침내 그들은 은 이십 개를 받고 요셉을 종으로 팔았습니다. 하나님께서는 요셉을 이집트로 보내시기 위하여 그에게 꿈을 꾸게 하셨으며 모든 일들을 하나도 착오 없이 진행하시고 계셨습니다. 요셉은 그 당시 미성년자였기에 은 이십 개에 팔렸지만, 우리 주님은 삼십이 넘으셨기애 이스카리옷 유다에 의하여 은 삼십 개에 팔렸던 것입니다. 요셉이 구덩에서 구출된 것처럼 우리 주님도 무덤에 장사되시고 셋째 날에 부활하신 것입니다.

       요셉은 하나님께서 주신 꿈을 구체적으로 알지는 못했지만 그 꿈들이 하나님께로부터 온 것을 믿었기에 엄청난 고난을 당할 때에도 불평하지 않고 믿음을 지킬 수 있었습니다. 그가 종으로 팔렸을 때나, 그가 이집트 파라오의 경호대장 포디발의 집에서 종살이 할 때나, 경호대장의 아내가 말한 거짓말로 인해 억울하게 감옥에 갇혔을 때에도 그는 항상 기뻐하면서 그의 꿈이 이루어질 날을 기다리면서 감사할 수 있었던 것입니다.

   우리 주님 예수께서도 자신이 죄악 세상에 오신 목적이 아버지 하나님의 꿈을 이루시길 위하는 마음으로 모든 고난들을 인내하셨던 것입니다. 그분의 마음 속에서는 아버지께서 부탁하신 일들을 이루시기 위하여 자신의 죽음을 통하여 세상 죄를 제거하시고 죄와 사망의 권세 잡은 자 마귀를 없애심으로써 하늘과 땅에 죄와 사망과 저주를 없애시는 아버지 하나님의 꿈을 이루시기 위한 삶을 사셨습니다. 그리하여 그분께서는 우리 죄들로 인해 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 셋째 날에 부활하신 것입니다.

      마침내 요셉이 이집트의 두 번째 통치자가 된 것처럼 우리 주님께서도 아버지 하나님에 이어 두 번째 신격을 영원토록 가지게 되신 것입니다. 또한 하나님의 계획대로 조만간 때가 차게 되면 이 땅에 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오셔서 하늘과 땅에 있는 만물들을 통치하시게 될 것입니다.

      누구든지 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 성령을 받은 사람들은 주 예수 그리스도께서 주신 꿈을 받은 사람들입니다. 주 예수 그리스도께서 오실 때까지 우리들도 우리에게 주신 꿈에 대하여 증거해야 하는 것입니다. 우리에게 주신 꿈은 무엇입니까? 조만간 주님께서 나타나실 때 우리가 자고 있든지 살아 있든지 그날 우리는 눈깜짝하는 순간에 죽지 않고 썩지 않는 몸으로 변화되어 부활하게 되어 공중에서 주님을 만나는 꿈을 주셨습니다. 그후에 우리는 그리스도의 심판석에 서서 우리가 고난 가운데 요셉처럼 감사하며 주님의 뜻을 이룬 것에 대한 면류관의 보상이 있을 것입니다. 또한 우리는 그리스도와 한 몸이 되고 그리스도의 신부가 되어 어린양의 혼인식에서 주님과 결혼하여 그분과 영원히 한 몸을 이룰 것입니다. 칠 년 동안 이 세상에 대환란의 심판이 펼쳐지는 동안 우리는 하늘에서 주님과 함께 혼인잔치를 하게 될 것입니다. 마침내 주님께서 자신의 왕국을 이 땅에 세우시기 위하여 지상으로 다시 내려오실 때 우리는 그와 함께 내려와서 그분과 함께 세상을 심판하고 그리스도와 함께 한 공동상속자들로서 이 땅을 천년 동안 그와 함께 통치하게 될 것입니다.

        요셉이 고난 받았던 땅에서 통치자가 된 후에 그의 형제들을 이집트 땅에서 만난 것처럼, 이 땅에서 고난 받으셨던 주님께서 이 땅에 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오셔서 통치하실 때 그의 백성들이 회개하여 그분의 왕국에 들어가게 될 것입니다. 그러나 그리스도의 신부된 교회는 그분과 함께 하늘의 새 예루살렘에서 영원히 함꼐 살게 될 것입니다. 솔로몬 왕은 “환상(꿈)이 없는 곳에서는 백성이 망하나, 율법을 지키는 자는 행복하니라.”(잠 29:18)고 증거했습니다.

        그렇습니다. 꿈을 가진 사람은 하나님의 왕국에서 받을 유업을 바라보면서 요셉처럼 고난 가운데 인내하면서 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑을 따라가며 죄를 짓지 않고 하나님의 말씀의 빛 가운데 의롭게 행하다가 영광스러운 유업을 받게 되는 것입니다. 하나님을 사랑하는 자, 곧 그분의 목적에 따라 부르심을 받은 우리에게는 모든 일이 합력하여 선을 이루는 보장이 있습니다(롬 8:28). 이제는 하룻밤의 꿈이 아닌 하나님의 말씀 안에서 우리에게 영원히 확실한 꿈을 주신 하나님께 성령 안에서 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 영광과 존귀와 찬양을 드려야 하는 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 105:1-23

Main scripture: Genesis 37:1-11

Subject: Let us live godly as Joseph who endured with thanksgiving until his dreams were fulfilled

     In the main passage, we see Joseph who believed the dreams from the LORD God, and testified of them; so that he had to pass through sufferings. We also see the fulfillment of his dreams at the end. This message gives us blessing for us to understand the suffering of Christ as well as sufferings and rewards of Christians that believe dreams given through the words of God.

       Israel(Jacob)loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he was hated by his elder brothers. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren; and they hated him yet the more. When Abraham was alive, Ishmael not the son of promise, the son of servant made fun of Isaac, the son of promise who shall inherit the covenant given unto Abraham. Apostle Paul testified of this unto the Galatians: “But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.”(Gal. 4:29)

        The LORD God showed to Joseph through his dreams of what he will fulfill through Joseph in the future. Joseph not only believed the words of God spoken through the dreams, he also confessed the dreams openly with his mouth before his brothers. In the same manner, the children of God not only have to believe the dreams in the words of God, but also they have to testify before men. Even now, the children of promise of God are hated and persecuted by carnal men, because the dream that is given unto the children of God testifies of the judgment against the world; and their dream is to reign with the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, when Jesus Christ come to the world again.

        Joseph testified of his dreams unto his brothers:

“For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.”

Then his brothers spoke unto Joseph, “Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us?” And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

        And Joseph dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brothers:

“Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.”

And he told it to his father, and to his brothers; and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is the dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethrens envied him; but his father observed the saying.

       Now, it reminds us of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God were hated and persecuted by the Jews, the carnal brothers. The Lord Jesus testified of all the words from his Father God unto the Jews; and he was persecuted continuously by the Jews, and at the end, he was crucified unto death by them as a slave.

       The Lord Jesus testified of himself as the Son of God, the Creator, God himself, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords to come to judge the world through various signs; but the servants of the devil such as Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Scribes as well as the Jews, even knowing who he is, envied and hated him, and crucified him.

        Joseph engraved the dreams given by God in his heart; we understand his faith through his life afterwards. He was always obedient to his father. One day, he was sent to his brother by the father to see whether it will be well with his brothers. And his brothers saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him, and they said to one to another, “Behold, this dreamer cometh.

Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.”(Gen. 37:19,20)

          Even the religious leaders tried to conspired to kill Jesus at any opportunity come for them. Finally, they arrest him and crucified him. Even the church history written against Roman Catholic church testifies, tens of millions of the bible believers had been hated by Roman Catholic church, and killed by them.

       To fulfill the dreams of Joseph, the LORD God used Reuben, the eldest bother. Reuben said to his brother to save Joseph from their hands, “Let us not kill him.” He continued to say to rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father, “Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness“. Finally, he was cast into the pit. Then again, The LORD God used Judah to fulfill his will, and let him say to his brothers: “What profit is it if we slay our brother and conceal his blood? Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh.” Then God guide his brother to content with Judah’s proposal.

        Finally, they sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver; and they brought Joseph into Egypt. The LORD God gave Joseph the dreams so that he may go to Egypt; and the plan of God for Joseph had been done without any mistake by God. Joseph was minor at that time in his age of seventeen; so he was sold in exchanged with twenty pieces of silver. Our Lord Jesus was sold with thirty pieces of silver by Iscariot Judah, for he was over thirty years old, no more minor. As Joseph was delivered from the pit, our Lord Jesus rose again from the dead the third day after he was buried.

       Even though Joseph was not familiar with his dreams in details, he believed the dreams from God; he was bale to endure all kinds of sufferings not complaining at all to keep his faith. When he was sold as a slave or when sold again as a slave to the house of Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, or when put into the prison because of his wife who told a lie against him, he was able to rejoice always with thanksgiving looking forward the day of his dreams come true.

        Our Lord Jesus could endure all kinds of affliction to fulfill the purpose of his coming to the sinful world to fulfill the dream of his Father God. He also lived his life on the earth to fulfill the dream of the Father. He was willing to take away the sin of the world through his death on the cross, and to destroy the devil that has the power of sin and death so that he destroy sin and death and curses in heaven and in earth.

Finally, he died for our sins, and buried, and rose again the third day to give us eternal life.

       As Joseph became the second ruler next to Pharaoh at the end, our Lord Jesus happened to have the second God-head eternally next to the Father God. And as the plan of God, sooner or later, when the time is come, Jesus will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to reign in heaven and in earth forever.

         Whosoever receives the Holy Ghost through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has already received the dream that is given by the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore we have to testify of the dream given unto us.

        Then what is the dream given unto us? Sooner or later, when the Lord Jesus Christ appears in the air, whether we are sleeping or awaken, we shall be changed as immortal and incorruptible in an eye twinkling moment to see the Lord. And afterward, we shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ to be rewarded with the crown according to our works to fulfill the will of God with thanksgiving as Joseph did. Then we shall be one body with Christ finally to be his bride; and marry to him to be one with him forever. During the Great Tribulation in the earth for seven years, we shall be with him at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Finally, when the Lord Jesus Christ come down the earth again, we shall be with him to judge the world together with him, and we shall reign with him for thousand years as the joint-heir with him.

      As Joseph met with his brothers in Egypt after he became the second ruler, his people of Israel shall repent when our Lord Jesus reign as King of King and Lord of Lords so that they shall enter into his kingdom. But the church of God, the bride of Christ shall dwell in the New Jerusalem in heaven. King Solomon testified, “Where is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”(Prov. 29:18)

        Yea! He that has dream can endure sufferings fighting with the lust of the flesh, the lust of eyes, and the pride of life not to sin walking in the light of the law of God following righteousness until he receives the inheritance as Joseph, He has eternal security, because he loves God, and God called him according to the purpose of God (Rom. 8:28). This is the reason why we have to give glory, honor, and praise unto the Lord who gave us eternally sure dream in the words of God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Ghost. Amen! Hallelujah!
