금주의 묵상: 시편 56:1-13

본문: 시편 39:1-13

제목: 무엇에 올인(ALL-IN) 하며 살고 있는가?

    우리는 본문에 나타난 다윗의 기도를 통하여 그가 어떠한 삶을 살았는지 알 수 있습니다. 그의 삶은 오직 하나님만 바라보는 삶이었습니다. 그에게 주어진 수명이 손 너비처럼 짧다는 것을 깨달았기에 사울왕을 비롯하여 수많은 사람들이 그 앞에서 악하게 행했지만 그가 하나님 앞에서 행여나 죄를 지을 것을 염려한 나머지 입에 재갈을 물린다고 고백했습니다. 비록 억울한 일을 당할 때에 자신을 변호하지 않음으로 인해 마음 속에 억울함으로 슬픔이 일어나게 되어 마음이 뜨거워져서 견딜 수 없을 때에도 그는 악인 앞에서 입을 열지 않고 오직 기도 가운데 주님께만 입을 열어 속 마음을 쏟아놓는 사람이었습니다.

      오직 그는 언제 생을 마감하게 될지 그리고 그의 남은 삶의 분량이 얼마인지를 깨닫게 해 달라고 기도했습니다. 하나님의 사람 모세도 사람의 연수가 칠십이요, 강건하면 팔십이어도 그 연수의 힘은 슬픔이라고 하나님 앞에 자신의 짧은 생에 대하여 고백하면서 그가 죽을 때 어딘가 멀리 날아가게 되는 것을 깨닫고 혹시 그 짧은 기간 동안 죄를 지음으로 인해 하나님께서 자신에게 진노를 발하실까 두려워했습니다. 또한 그는 다윗처럼 자신이 살 날을 계수하는 지혜를 달라고 하나님께 간구했습니다(시 90:10-12).

      다윗은 기도 가운데 주님의 음성을 듣고 자신의 남은 날이 고작 손 너비 정도밖에 되지 않는 것을 깨달았습니다. 대부분 사람들은 이 사실을 깨닫지 못하면서 육신의 정욕을 위하여 하나님 보시기에 헛된 그림자처럼 분주하게 걸어다니며 재물을 모으기에 급급하지만 그들이 아무리 세상에서 성공해서 큰 일을 이루어 가장 좋은 상태에 있을지라도 죽을 때 아무 것도 가져가지 못함으로 인해 다른 사람 좋은 일만 하다가 가게 되니 헛된 일임을 깨닫고 기도 가운데 하나님 앞에서 고백했습니다.

        그는 비록 이스라엘의 왕으로서 해야할 일이 많은 가운데에도 그의 삶의 목적은 장차 죽어서 하나님을 뵈올 날을 소망하면서 자신을 모든 죄과에서 구해달라고 간구했으며 자신의 어리석음으로 인해 하나님으로부터 질책을 받지 않도록 해 달라고 간구했습니다. 또한 그는 사람들이 그에게 악을 행할 때에도 하나님께서 자신을 징계하시기 위하여 주께서 행하시는 것으로 알고 벙어리처럼 입을 열지 않는다고 고백했습니다. 다만 그의 쇠잔함 가운데서 그는 그 징계를 옮겨달라고 하나님께 간구했습니다. 하나님께서 죄악을 행하는 자들을 책망하셔서 바로잡으려 하실 때 어느누구도 견딜 수 없으며 좀처럼 소멸되어 아름다운 모습을 잃게 된다는 것을 알고 그는 하나님만을 두려워했습니다. 그는 하나님을 두려워하는 것이 참 지혜인 것을 깨달았던 것입니다. 하나님께서는 다윗이 자신과 더불어 온전한 자라고 친히 말씀하셨습니다,(왕상 11:4)

        그는 오직 하나님께만 부르짖어 기도하면서 하나님께만 눈물을 보였습니다. 그는 하나님만이 그의 원한을 갚아주시는 분이심을 믿었던 것입니다. 오직 그는 부활의 날에 그리스도의 모습으로 변화되기 위한 삶을 살면서(시 17:15) 사람들이 그에게 행하는 악행에 대하여는 전혀 개의치 않았습니다. 육신으로 나타나신 예수께서 하나님을 두려워 하지 않고 사람도 무시하는 재판관과 자신의 원수를 같아달라는 과부에 대해 말씀하실 때, “하나님께서 자신에게 밤낮 부르짖는 자신이 선택한 사람들의 원한을 갚아주시지 않고, 그들에게 오래 참고만 계시겠느냐? 내가 너희에게 말하노니 하나님께서는 그들의 원한을 속히 갚아주시리라.”(눅 18:7,8)고 친히 말씀하셨습니다.

      다윗의 자손으로 이 세상에 나타나신 창조주 하나님이신 예수 그리스도께서도 사람들에게 멸시받고 거부됨으로 인해 슬픈 삶을 사시면서 박해받는 것이 그분의 일상사가 되는 삶을 사셨습니다. 또한 그렇게 질고에 익숙한 삶을 사시면서 억압을 당하고 고난을 당하는 가운데서도 그의 입을 열지 않으셨으며 어린양처럼 도살장으로 끌려가면서도 털깎는 자들 앞에서 입을 열지 않는 양처럼 입을 열지 않으셨습니다 (사 53:3-7). 주님께서는 아버지 하나님께서 말씀하신 한 가지 일, 즉 세상 죄를 위하여 죽으실 일만을 생각하시면서 다윗처럼 악인들이 그에게 행하는 악행에 대하여 전혀 개의치 않으셨던 것입니다.

        하나님의 사람 바울도 그리스도를 위하여 자주 매를 맞았고 감옥에도 빈번하게 갇혔고 죽을 고비도 여러 번 당했으며 유대인들로부터 사십에 하나 뺀 매를 다섯 번이나 맞았고 세 번 몽둥이로 맞았고 한 번은 돌에 맞았으며 세 번이나 배가 파선되어 밤과 낮을 깊은 바다에서 보냈으며, 동족으로부터의 위험과 이방인들로부터의 위험과 거짓 형제들 가운데서 위험을 겪으면서도 그는 항상 모든 교회들을 위해 염려했습니다. 그런 가운데서도 그는 그의 약한 것을 자랑한다고 말했습니다.

그 역시 다윗처럼 주님을 만나는 날에만 소망을 두었기에 그 날을 바라보면서 주님의 일을 위하여 자신의 몸을 주님처럼 산 제물로 드림으로써 그의 모든 삶을 그리스도의 날을 바라보면서 올 인(All-in)했던 것입니다.

      세상 사람들도 이미 알고 있는 것처럼 인생은 짧은 것입니다. 이 짧은 삶 속에서 누구나 어떤 목표를 가지고 올인(All-in)하는 것입니다. 올인(All-in)하지 않고서는 누구도 성공할 수 없는 것입니다. 그러나 무엇을 위하여 올인(All-in)한다는 것은 자신의 선택에 달린 것입니다. 자신의 육신의 삶의 종말을 목표로 하는 사람은 결국은 그가 성공해서 얻은 것들이 모두 헛된 것임을 그때가서야 깨닫게 될 것입니다. 모든 육체는 풀같이 말라 시들어 죽게 되며 평생을 이룬 영광도 꽃처럼 떨어지게 되는 것을 자신 스스로 보게 될 것이기 때문입니다(벧전 1:21). 영원하신 하나님의 말씀 안에 믿음의 닻을 내리고 조만간 공중에 나타나실 주 예수 그리스도를 만나는 그날에 초점을 맞추는 사람만이 지혜로운 삶을 살 수 있는 것입니다.

      지금 이 시간 우리는 현재 무엇을 위하여 무엇을 바라보면서 하루하루 살고 있는지 또한 어떤 목표를 정하고 있는지 그렇지 않으면 그날 그날 그럭저럭 바쁘게 살면서 목숨만 이어가고 있는지 스스로 점검하는 지혜로운 시간이 되어야 하는 것입니다. 자신의 남은 삶이 손 너비같은 것을 깨닫는 지혜가 필요하며 자신을 이 세상의 삶의 종말에 미리 갖다 놓고 후회하게 되는 삶을 살지 않도록 미리 준비하는 지혜가 필요한 것입니다. 결국 세상도 모든 정욕도 사라질 것이지만 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 자는 영원히 거하는 날이 올 것이기 때문입니다(요일 2:17).

      사도 바울은 그가 예수 그리스도를 만나기 전에는 헛된 것에 푯대를 정하고 헛된 삶을 살았지만 예수 그리스도를 만난 후에 그는 다윗처럼 그리고 주님처럼 그리스도의 날에 목표를 정하고 그의 육신의 삶 속에서 그분을 만나는 날에 받을 상을 바라보면서 그의 약함을 자랑했던 것입니다. 그는 그리스도께서 오실 때 부활하는 날을 바라보면서 “이는 내가 그를 알고 그의 부활의 능력과 그의 고난의 교제를 알아 그의 죽음의 본을 따르려 함이며 어떻게 해서든지 죽은 자들의 부활에 이르려는 것이라. 내가 이미 이르렀다 함도 아니요, 이미 온전해졌다 함도 아니라. 다만 나는 붙잡으려고 좇아갈 뿐이라. 나 역시 그것을 위하여 그리스도 예수께 붙잡혀 있노나. 형제들아, 나는 내가 붙잡은 것으로 여기지 아니하노라. 다만 한 가지 일, 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것들에 손을 뻗쳐 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 고귀한 부르심의 상을 위하여 그 푯대를 향해 좇아갈 뿐이라.”(빌 3:10-13)고 고백했습니다.

      사도 바울은 그가 상 받을 그리스도의 심판석을 바라보는 삶을 살았기 때문에 그는 그의 삶 속에서 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 모욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤경을 기뻐하면서 그가 그리스도를 위하여 약해질 때에 그리스도께서 능력을 주셔서 모든 것을 할 수 있게 하셨다고 증거한 것입니다(고후 12:9,10, 빌 4;13).

        그는 고린도교회 성도들을 향하여 단호하게 증거했습니다: “그가 모든 사람을 위하여 죽으신 것은 산 자들이 이제부터는 더 이상 자신들을 위하여 살지 않고 자기들을 위하여 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 그분을 위하여 살게 하려는 것이라.”(고후 5:15)

그분의 죽으심을 통하여 은혜로 구원받은 사람은 아무도 그의 증거에 대해 “아니요“라 말할 수 없는 것입니다.

      어짜피 이 세상은 수고와 슬픔(시 90:10)이 계속되는 세상입니다. 그러나 그리스도의 날을 바라보면서 당하는 고난은 우리에게 영원한 상으로 변하게 되는 것입니다. 그리스도를 위하여 십자가를 지면서 살아가다가 어느날 주님을 만나는 그 날에 십자가를 내려 놓고 면류관으로 바꾸게 될 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 56:1-13

Subject: What are you submitting ALL-IN for?

        Through the prayer of king David in the main passage, we see his lifestyle. His life was focused on only waiting for the LORD. Understanding his days in the earth are as short as an handbreadth, he kept his mouth with a bridle taking heed to his ways, that he sinned not with his tongue, while many wicked men including king Saul were before him. Even when he was mistreated by men, he never defended for himself. Even when his sorrow was stirred, and was musing the fire burned in his heart not endurable for him because of mistreatment done by wicked people, he didn’t open his mouth before the wicked men, but opened his mouth only before God, and poured out the things in his inner heart.

        He prayed unto the LORD for him to know his end, and measure of his days. Moses, a man of God also confessed unto the LORD of his short life saying, the day of our years are three score years and ten (seventy years): and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years(eighty years), yet is their strength labour and sorrow, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. And he feared the anger of the LORD, when he sins against God. As David, he also asked the LORD to teach him to number his days, that he may apply his heart unto wisdom (Ps. 90:10-12).

        In the midst of prayer, David understood his days left for him as an hand breadth upon hearing from God. He confessed unto the LORD in his prayer, every man around him not understands their short days to pursue the lust of flesh, and walks in a vain shew; surely they are disquieted in vain heaping up riches, and not knows who shall gather them. But verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.

        even in the midst of too many things to care about as king, he prayed unto the LORD to deliver him from all his transgressions : and make him not the reproach of the foolish only in the hope of the day when he sees the Lord. Even wicked men did evil against him, he thought it as the blow of the hands of the LORD to chasten him, and asked the LORD to remove his chastening from him in his weakness. He never opened his moth as dumb. He only feared the LORD knowing, when the LORD does correct man with rebuke for iniquity, he makes his beauty to consume away like moth; surely every man is vanity. He surely understood of wisdom that is fear of the LORD. The LORD God said, the heart of David is perfect with him (1Kings 11:4).

        David only prayed and cried unto the LORD God showing his tears only before him. He believed, only God revenge for him. His only hope of his life is to be changed like Christ in the day of resurrection (Ps. 17:He never cared about evil done by people. Jesus Christ gave a parable about a judge that feared not God, neither regarded man, and a widow:

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily”(Luke 18:7,8)

        Jesus Christ, the Creator born in flesh as the son of David was despised and rejected of men; he was a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. Even in the midst of grief and oppression and affliction, he never opened his mouth to defend himself as a lamb that is brought to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers (Isa. 53:3-7).The Lord Jesus was only thinking the word of the Father to die for the sin of the world; therefore he never opened his mouth not caring about wicked people.

       Apostle Paul. a man of God was in stripes above measure, ; in prisons more frequent ;in death often; he received forty stripes save one from the Jews; beaten three times with rods; once was stoned; three times suffered shipwreck; a night and a day has been in the deep; in the journeys often, in the perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in [perils by his own countrymen, in the perils of heathen, in the perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren.

In the midst of all kinds of perils, he cared about all the churches day by day. He confessed, he glory the things that concern his infirmities. He put his hope only in the day of Christ; and he presented his own body for the work of the Lord as the Lord Jesus did; he put his life all in for the day of Christ.

        Life is short as the Gentiles also know. They try to make all-in to achieve their goal of life in such a short life. Without All-in, no one can succeed in the world. But they have their own choice for what they make all-in. They that make all-in for the lust of flesh shall understand, all things in vain at the end of their life. They shall see, all flesh shall be withered as grass unto death; and all their glory shall fall away as the flower of grass (1Pet. 1:21). Only they that anchor in the word of God that is eternal focusing on the day of Christ when they meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air shall be ended with wisdom.

        It is right time to examine ourselves whether we are living setting the certain purpose of life or just living day by day just to survive ourselves without any purpose of life. We need the wisdom to know our life left as an handbreadth; and the wisdom that we prepare not to repent for our life at the end of the day to come. Finally, the world passes away; and the lust thereof; but he that does the will of God abides forever (1John 2:17).

        Before Apostle Paul see the Lord Jesus, he put his mark in vain living in vanity; but after he saw the Lord Jesus, he put his mark in the day of Christ that is the day of resurrection as David did, and pressed toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. he confessed of the mark of his life saying,

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”(Phil. 3:10-13)

        Looking for the day when he shall be rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ, Apostle Paul was able to take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions in distresses for Christ’s sake. He testified, in his weakness, strengthened by Christ, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”(Phil. 4;13)

      He testified unto the saints in Corinthians church strictly saying,

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”(2Cor. 5:15)

Whosoever is saved by grace through his death cannot say “NO” against his testimony.

        Whether we want or not, there are labor and sorrow in this world (Ps. 90:10). All the afflictions that we receive for the sake of Christ looking for the day of Christ shall be returned unto us as eternal prize. Taking up our cross living day by day, we shall exchange the cross with crown when Christ appears in the air suddenly. Amen! Hallelujah!
