금주의 묵상: 시편 101:1-8

본문: 창세기 3:17-19

제목: 사람의 죄로 인한 가시와 엉겅퀴

         하나님께서는 죄를 지은 아담에게 “…..너로 인하여 땅은 저주를 받고 너는 너의 전 생애 동안 고통 중에서 소산을 먹으리라. 또 땅은 네게 가시나무와 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이요 너는 들의 채소를 먹을 것이며 네가 땅으로 돌아갈 때까지 네 얼굴에 땀을 흘려야 빵을 먹으리니, 이는 네가 땅에서 취해졌음이라. 너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라.”(창 3:17-18)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 흙으로 지음받은 아담이 하나님께 범죄하였을 때 공의의 하나님께서 죄없는 흙까지도 저주하신 것입니다. 그후 부터 지금까지 그 저주로 인하여 땅은 끊임없이 심지도 않은 가시와 엉겅퀴를 내어 그 저주들을 제거하는 일을 위하여 수고하고 있는 것입니다.

           옛날 욥이 그의 친구들로부터 정죄를 받았을 때 “만일 내 땅이 나를 대적하여 소리를 치며 그 고랑들도 이같이 불평한다면, 내가 돈 없이 거기서 나는 열매들을 먹었거나 그 주인으로부터 그 생명을 잃게 하였다면 밀 대신에 엉겅퀴가 보리 대신에 잡초가 나야 하리라.”(욥 31:38-40)고 말함으로써 그가 정죄받을 일을 행했다면 당연히 저주를 받아 그의 땅에서 곡식 대신에 엉겅퀴가 나야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.

         지혜의 사람 솔로몬 왕도 가시나무와 엉겅퀴에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“내가 게으른 자의 밭과 지각 없는 자의 포도원을 지나갔더니, 보라, 농작물이 온통 가시나무와 더불어 자랐으며, 엉겅퀴가 그 지면을 덮었고, 돌담이 무너졌으니라. 그때 내가 보고 곰곰히 생각하였으며, 그것을 쳐다보고 교훈을 받았느니라. 좀더 자자, 좀더 졸자, 손을 모으고 좀더 자자 하면, 네 빈곤이 여행자같이 올 것이요, 네 빈궁이 강도같이 이르리라.”(잠 24:31-34)

             하나님께서 선지자 호세아를 통하여 범죄한 이스라엘 백성들을 향하여 말씀하실 때에도 가시나무와 엉겅퀴로 그들을 저주하실 것을 말씀하셨습니다:

“보라, 그들이 멸망으로 인하여 갔느니라.. 이집트는 그들을 모으고 멤피스는 그들을 묻으리라. 그들의 은을 위한 깊은 곳, 그곳들은 엉겅퀴가 차지할 것이요, 그들의 장막 안에는 가시나무들이 있으리라. 감찰의 날들이 오고 보응의 날들이 오나니 이스라엘이 그것을 알리라. 선지자는 어리석고 영적인 사람은 미쳤나니, 이는 네 죄악이 많고 증오는 크기 때문이라.”(호 9:6-7)

             주 예수께서 천국의 신비에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다. 첫 번째로 씨뿌리는 비유를 말씀하실 때에 가시에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“어떤 씨는 가시떨기 사이에 떨어지니, 그 가시떨기가 자라나서 기운을 막아버렸으나…”(마 13:7)

주님께서는 제자들에게 이 비유에 대하여 설명하실 때 가시떨기가 무엇인지 말씀해 주셨습니다:

“가시떨기 사이에 씨가 뿌려졌다는 것은 말씀을 듣기는 하나 이 세상 염려와 재물의 미혹이 말씀을 억눌러 열매를 맺지 못하게 된 사람이라.'(마 13:22)

       그렇습니다. 주님의 말씀 안에서 우리는 아주 중요한 진리를 발견할 수 있습니다. 아담의 죄로 인해 저주받은 땅에서 나오는 가시나무와 엉겅퀴는 사람의 마음 속에서도 나온다는 것이며, 사람 안에서 나는 가시나무와 엉겅퀴는 세상 염려와 재물의 미혹이며 이 저주로 인해 하나님의 말씀이 열매를 맺지 못하게 되어 구원받지 못하는 저주를 받게 된다는 것입니다. 하나님께서는 히브리서 기자를 통하여 말씀하실 때 가시와 엉겅퀴를 내는 사람이 받을 보응에 대하여 말씀하실 때 더 분명하게 말씀하셨습니다:

“하나님의 선한 말씀과 오는 세상의 능력을 맛본 자들이 만약 떨어쟈 나간다면 다시 새롭게 하여 회개시킬 수 없나니, 이는 그들이 스스로 하나님의 아들을 다시 십자가에 못박아 공개적으로 조롱함이라. 이는 땅이 그 위에 자주 내리는 비를 흡수하여 밭가는 자들에게 적합한 농작물을 내면 하나님께 복을 받으나 만일 가시와 엉겅퀴를 내면 버림을 당하고 저주함에 가까워서 그 마지막은 불사름이 되기 때문이라.”(히 6:5-8)

             이 말씀은 교리적으로 은혜 시대가 지나고 대환란이라는 새로운 시대가 올 때에 대환란을 통과하는 유대인들이 예수 그리스도를 믿었을지라도 믿음에서 떨어져 나갈 때에 오는 저주를 말씀하신 것입니다.

               우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 죄로 인해 저주받아 불사름이 될 수밖에 없는 죄인들을 사랑하셔서 우리가 아직 죄인되었을 때 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로써 하나님께서 우리를 향한 그의 사랑을 나타내셨다(롬 5:8)고 사도 바울이 증거했습니다. 뿐만 아니라 그분의 죽으심을 통하여 아담의 자손으로 태어난 우리가 받아야 할 저주로 부터 그분께서 우리를 구원하심에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 저주가 되셔서 율법의 저주로부터 우리를 구속하셨으니 기록되기를 ‘나무에 매달린 자는 누구나 저주를 받은 자라.’고 하였도다. 이는 아브라함의 복이 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 이방인들에게 미치게 함이며 또 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 성령의 약속을 받게 하려는 것이라.”(갈 3:12-14)

            그리스도께서 가시로 만든 관을 쓰시고 나무 십자가에 달려서 죽으신 것은 우리를 율법의 저주로부터 구원하시기 위함이라고 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 그리스도께서는 우리의 죄들뿐만 아니라 죄들로 인해 우리가 아담으로부터 물려받은 저주들까지도 자신의 몸에 전가받으시고 죽으신 것입니다. 또한 우리가 그분을 믿었을 때 죄로 인한 저주와 사망으로부터 구원을 받은 것입니다. 또한 성경은 불못을 둘째 사망이라(계 20:14)고 말씀하신 대로 그리스도를 믿은 우리는 불못 심판으로부터 이미 구원받은 것입니다. 그 이유에 대하여 우리의 이름이 생명의 책에 기록되었기 때문이라고 하나님의 말씀이 증거하고 있기 때문입니다(계 20:15).

             예수께서 산상에서 말씀하실 때에도 가시나무와 엉겅퀴에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“거짓 선지자들을 조심하라. 그들은 양의 옷을 입고 너희에게 나아오나 속은 약탈하는 이리들이라. 너희는 그들의 열매로 그들을 알게 되리니, 사람이 가시나무에서 포도를, 또 엉겅퀴에서 무화과를 거둘 수 있겠느냐? 이와 같이 좋은 나무마다 좋은 열매를 맺고, 나쁜 나무는 나쁜 열매를 맺느니라. 좋은 나무가 나쁜 열매를 뱆을 수 없으며, 나쁜 나무가 좋은 열매를 맺을 수 없느니라. 좋은 열매를 맺지 못하는 나무마다 찍혀서 불에 던져지리라. 그러므로 너희는 그들의 열매들을 보고 그들을 알게 되리라.”(마 7:15-20)

                 예수께서는 자신이 좋은 나무이며 자신 안에 거하는 자들이 받을 축복에 대하여 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다:

“나는 참 포도나무요, 나의 아버지는 농부시라. 내 안에서 열매를 맺지 못하는 가지마다 그분께서 제거해 버리시고, 열매를 맺는 가지마다 정결케 하시어 더 많은 열매를 맺게 하시느니라. 이제 너희는 내가 너희에게 일러준 말을 통하여 깨끗해졌느니라. 내 안에 거하라. 그러면 나도 너희 안에 거히리라. 가지가 포도나무에 붙어 있지 아니하면 스스로 열매를 맺을 수 없듯이 너희도 내 안에 거하지 아니하면 역시 그렇게 되리라. 나는 포도나무요 너희는 그 가지들이라. 그가 내 안에 내가 그 안에 거하면 그 사람은 많은 열매를 맺느니라. 이는 나를 떠나서는, 너희가 아무 것도 할 수 없기 때문이라.”(요 15:1-5)

           이 말씀은 에수께서 겟세마네 동산으로 걸어 올라가시면서 제자들에게 마지막으로 하신 유언의 말씀입니다. 그들은 주님을 믿었지만 아직 성령께서 오시기 전이었으므로 조만간 그들이 성령을 받게 될 때에 그들이 성령 안에서 주님 안에 거하게 되며 주님 또한 그들 안에 거하시게 될 때에 그들이 많은 열매를 맺을 것에 대한 말씀인 것입니다.

                             사도들은 구원받은 하나님의 자녀들을 향하여 저주로부터 온 모든 염려를 하나님께 믿음으로 맡김으로써 평강 가운데 성령 안에 거하도록 권면했습니다:

“아무 것도 염려하기 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로 너희의 구하는 것들을 감사함으로 하나님께 알려지게 하라.”(빌 4:6)

“너희의 염려를 다 하나님께 맡기라. 이는 그분께서 너희를 돌보심이니라.”(벧전 5:7)

                 사도 바울은 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 성령을 받아 좋은 나무가 된 사람과 성령을 받지 못하여 자연인 그대로 나쁜 나무로 남아 있는 두 가지 사람에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이제 육신의 일들은 분명히 나타나나니 곧 간음과 음행과 더러운 것과 음욕과 우상 숭배와 마술과 원수 맺음과 다툼과 질투와 분노와 투쟁과 분열과 이단들과 시기와 살인과 술 취함과 흥청거림과 또 그와 같은 것들이라. 내가 전에 말한 바와 같이 미리 말하노니 그런 짓들을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못할 것이라. 그러나 성령의 열매는 사랑과 기쁨과 화평과 오래 참음과 친절과 선함과 믿음과 온유와 절제니 그러한 것을 반대할 법이 없느니라. 그리스도께 속한 사람들은 그 육신을 욕정과 정욕과 함께 십자가에 못박았느니라.”(갈 5:19-24)

             그렇습니다! 주님의 말씀대로 성령이 있는 사람은 좋은 나무이며, 없는 사람은 나쁜 나무인 것입니다. 또한 성령이 있는 사람은 성령의 열매를 저절로 맺게 되는 것입니다. 그러나 성령이 없는 나쁜 나무, 즉 자연인은 육신의 열매들을 저절로 맺게 되는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 사람들의 말로 그들을 분별하는 것이 아니라 그들의 삶 속에서 맺는 열매들을 통하여 분별해야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이 마지막 때에 거짓 교사들을 분별하는 일에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이제 형제들아, 내가 너희에게 권고하노니 너희가 배운 교리에 역행하여 분열을 일으키고 공박하는 자들을 주의하고 그들에게서 떠나라. 그러한 자들은 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 섬기는 것이 아니라 자기들의 배를 섬기는 것이니 정중한 말과 그렇듯한 언변으로 순진한 사람들의 마음을 미혹하느니라. 너희의 순종이 모든 사람에게 알려졌느니라. 그러므로 나도 너희를 위하여 기쁘도다. 그러나 나는 여전히 너희가 선한 데 현명하고 악한 데 어리석기를 원하노라. 평강의 하나님께서 사탄을 속히 너희의 발 아래서 부수실 것이라. 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 너희와 함께 있을 지어다. 아멘”(롬 16:17-20) 할렐루야!

Meditation: Psalms 101:1-8

Subject: Thorns and Thistles because of the sin of man

                 The LORD God said unto Adam after he sinned:

“……cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;”(Gen. 3:17-18)

When Adam made of the dust of ground sinned, God of righteousness cursed even the dust of ground of no sin. Since then, men have been laboring because of thorns and thistles that never planted.

                Job said unto his friends upon hearing from them:

 “If my land cry against me, or that the furrows likewise thereof complain;

If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley.”(Job. 31:38-39)

He answered them, he is supposed to harvest thistles instead of grains, if he did something guilty before God.

              The man of wisdom also testified of thorns and thistles:

“And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”(Prov. 24:31-34)

                 When the LORD God spoke unto the people of Israel that sinned through prophet Hosea, he was going to curse them with thorns and thistles:

“For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.”(Hosea 9:6-7)

               Jesus spoke of the mystery of the kingdom of heaven in a parable:

 “And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:”(Matt. 13:7)

He explained about the parable of thorns and thistles:

“ He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”(Matt. 13:22)

                 Yeah! We find a very important truth in the word of the Lord Jesus. The thorns and thistles coming out of the earth because of the sin of Adam are even in the heart of man. Thorns and thistle in the heart of man are the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches; and those two kinds of curse keep man from reaping of the words of God, and even keep from salvation. The Holy Ghost spoke unto the Hebrews of the result thorns and thistles in the heart of man very clearly:

 “And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.”(Heb. 6:5-8)

               This is regarding the Jews that shall believe the Lord Jesus Christ passing through the Great Tribulation, but falls away from the faith. In doctrine wise, such kind of curse shall happen unto them that give up their faith in the dispensation of the Great Tribulation not of grace.

                 Our Lord Jesus Christ loved us while we were yet sinners even though we were supposed to be burned because of our sins; and he died for us to show his love toward us(Rom. 5:8) as testified by Apostle Paul. He also testified of redemption for us from the curses because of us born in Adam through the death of Jesus Christ:

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”(Gal. 3:13-14)

             He testified, Christ died hanging on a cross made of tree wearing the crown of thorns to redeem us from curse of the law. Christ died charging our sins as well as the curses inherited from Adam because of his sin on his body. An we were redeemed from curses and death because of sin, when we believed on him. The scripture testifies, the lake of fire is the second death (Rev. 20:14); therefore we have been already redeemed from the judgment of the lake of fire. Of the reason, the scripture testifies, our names are written in the book of life(Rev. 20:15).

                 Jesus also spoke of thorns and thistles, when he taught the Jews on the mountain:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”(Matt. 7:15-20)

                   Jesus spoke of himself as a good tree, and of the blessing who abides in him:

 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have

spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”(John 15:1-5)

               This is the final word given unto his disciples walking on the way to Gethsemane. They believed in him, but they couldn’t abide in him in the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost had not come yet. But they shall abide in him in the Holy Ghost when they receive the Spirit, and shall bring forth much fruits.

              Apostles encouraged the children of God to cast all their cares coming from the curse upon the Lord so that they may be able to abide in peace:

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”(Phil. 4:6)

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”(1Pet. 5:7)

               Apostle Paul testified of the two kinds of man; first one becomes to be good tree through the Holy Ghost, and the other one is natural man as a bad tree:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”(Gal. 5:19-24)

               yeah! As the word of the Lord, man of the Sprit of God is good tree, the other one is bad one. The man in the Spirit brings forth fruit of the Spirit, but natural man bring forth the fruit of the flesh. Therefore, we are not supposed to discern men through their words, but through the fruits brought forth through their life. Apostle Paul testified of the way to discern false teachers:

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.”(Rom. 16:17-20)

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
