금주의 묵상: 시편 1:1-6

본문: 시편 119:73-96

제목: 우리는 어디에서 즐거움을 찾으며 사는가?

           다윗 왕은 하나님의 말씀 안에 있는 약속의 소망을 깨닫고 자신이 오직 바라는 것은 부활의 날에 주님과 같이 변화되는 것을 바란다고 고백했습니다(시 17:15) 비록 주의 명령들이 때로는 자신의 죄로 인하여 자신을 괴롭게 하시는 것을 알았으나 결국은 주의 모든 명령들이 자신에 대한 하나님의 자애하심 가운데 주시는 위로라는 것을 알았던 것입니다. 이로 인하여 그는 “이는 주의 법이 나의 즐거움이기 때문이니이다.”(시 119:77)라고 고백했습니다. 그는 하나님의 말씀들이 영원히 하늘에 세워진 것을 깨닫고 그는영원히 그를 즐겁게 하시는 하나님의 말씀만을 소망하면서 살았던 것입니다.

           또한 그는 만일 주의 법이 그의 즐거움이 되지 않았더라면 그가 그의 고난 중에 멸망하였을 것이라고 고벡했습니다. 그가 고난 당할 때에 주의 법 안에서 그에게 위로를 주시는 하나님을 오해하여 시험에 들어 영원히 멸망할 수밖에 없었지만 하나님께서 그에게 주시는 고난들이 결국은 그로 하여금 회개하여 정결함으로 인도하는 것을 믿고 고난 중에도 즐거워할 수 있었다고 고백했습니다. 이 진리를 깨닫고 그는 “고난과 고통이 내게 닥쳤으나 주의 계명들은 나의 즐거움들이 되나이다.”(시 119:143)라고 고백할 수 있었던 것입니다. 그러므로 그는 고난 가운데서도 하나님께 찬양하는 것이 좋으며 그것이 즐거움이요, 찬양은 합당한 것이라(시 147:1)고 증거했습니다.

             다윗은 이 위대한 진리를 깨닫고 복있는 자가 어떤 자인지에 대하여 증거할 때에 “그의 즐거움이 주의 법에 있으니, 그가 주의 법을 주야로 묵상하는 자로다. 그는 강가에 심겨진 나무와 같아서 계절을 따라 열매를 맺으며, 그의 잎사귀도 마르지 아니하리니, 그가 무엇을 하든지 번성하리로다.”(시 1:2,3)라고 증거했습니다.

             지혜의 사람 솔로몬 왕도 지혜로운 자에 대하여 증거할 때에, “너는 이제 너의 젊은 날에 곧 재앙의 날이 이르지 않고 ‘나에게는 즐거움이 없다.’고 말할 해가 가까워 오기 전에 너의 창조주를 기억하라.”(전 12;1)고 권면했습니다. 그가 젊은 시절에 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑만을 추구하면서 즐거움을 찾다가 결국은 그 모든 것이 헛되고 헛되다는 진리를 깨달은 후에 젊은이들에게 참된 즐거움이 무엇인지에 대해 증거한 것입니다. 누구나 젊은 시절에는 육신적인 즐거움을 추구하다가 결국에 가서 모든 것이 죄악 중에 속한 헛된 잠시 동안의 즐거움인 것을 깨닫게 될 때에 영원한 즐거움을 주시는 하나님을 찾으라는 권면인 것입니다.

           하나님께서는 이스라엘 민족을 번성케 하시는 중에도 그 즐거움은 늘리지 않으셨던 것(사 9:3)은 그들로 하여금 악한 세상 가운데 사탄이 주는 즐거움에 속지 말고 영원한 즐거움을 주시는 창조주 하나님을 잊지 말도록 하시기 위한 것이었습니다. 하나님께서는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 이스라엘 백성들이 영원한 즐거움을 얻을 때에 대하여 말씀하게 하셨습니다:

“주의 속량받는 자들이 돌아오리니, 그들의 머리 위에 노래와 영원한 기쁨을 가지고 시온으로 오리라. 그들이 기쁨과 즐거움을 얻으리니 슬픔과 탄식은 달아나리라….주가 시온을 위로할 것이요, 그가 그녀의 모든 황폐한 곳들을 위로할 것이며, 그녀의 광야를 에덴같이 , 그녀의 사막을 주의 동산같이 만들리니 기쁨과 즐거움이, 감사와 노래 소리가 그 안에 있으리라.(사 35:10; 51:3)

             선지자들을 통하여 말씀하셨던 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나셔서 크게 즐거워 해야 하는 일에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“나로 인하여 사람들이 너희를 욕하고 박해하고, 거짓으로 꾸며 갖은 악한 말로 너희를 거슬러 말할 때에 너희에게 복이 있나니 기뻐하고 크게 즐거워하라. 이는 하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라. 너희 앞서 있었던 선지자들도 그들이 이같이 박해하였느니라.”(마 5:11,12)

             또한 주님께서 하나님의 자녀들에게 즐거움을 주시는 일에 대하여, “거두는 사람은 삯을 받고 영원한 생명에 이르는 열매를 모으느니라. 이는 뿌리는 사람과 거두는 사람이 다 함께 즐거워하려 함이라.”(요 4:36)

다시 말해서 , 하나님의 자녀들이 복음을 전하면서 생명의 복음의 씨앗을 뿌릴 때나 다른 사람이 수고한 것을 거둘 때에 안에 계신 주님께서 기뻐하심으로 그들에게 즐거움을 주신다는 약속인 것입니다.

             사도 바울도 하나님께서 주시는 즐거움에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그분으로 인하여 우리가 서 있는 이 은혜 안에 믿음으로 나아가며 하나님의 영광의 소망 안에서 즐거워하느니라. 이뿐만 아니라 우리가 환난 중에서도 즐거워하나니 환난은 인내를 이루고 인내는 연단을, 연단은 소망을 이루는 줄 읾이라. 소망이 부끄럽지 않은 것은 우리에게 주신 성령에 의하여 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음 속에 부어졌기 때문이라……그뿐 아니라 이제 우리로 속죄를 얻게 하신 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여, 하나님 안에서 또한 즐거워하느니라.”(롬 5:2-4,11)

그러므로, 주님께서 영광 가운데 나타나실 때를 바라보는 사람은 모든 환경 가운데서 기뻐하며 즐거워할 수 있다는 고백인 것입니다.

                 사도 베드로도 어려움 가운데서도 즐거워하는 하나님의 자녀들에게 격려의 편지를 보냈습니다:

“너희가 그를 보지 못하였으나 사랑하며, 지금도 그를 보지 못하나 믿고 있으며, 또 말할 수 없이 영광으로 가득 찬 기쁨으로 즐거워하나니 이는 너희 믿음의 결과, 곧 너희 혼들의 구원을 받음이니라…..사랑하는 자들아, 너희를 연단시키려는 불 같은 시련에 관하여 너희에게 어떤 이상한 일이 나는 것처럼 이상하게 여기지 말고, 도리어 너희가 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 자들이 되는 것이니 즐거워하라. 이는 그의 영광이 나타나실 때에 너희도 큰 기쁨으로 즐거워하게 하려 함이니라. 너희가 그리스도의 이름을 위하여 욕을 당하면 복이 있느니라. 이는 영광의 영 곧 하나님의 영께서 너희 위에서 안식하고 계시기 때문이니라. 그들의 편에서는 그분께서 비방을 당하시나, 너희의 편에서는 영광을 받으시느니라“(벧전 1:8,9; 4:12,-14)

……………우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 사도 요한을 통하여 우리가 하늘로 들려올라간 후에 누릴 영원한 즐거움에 대하여 본 것을 증거하게 하셨습니다:

“그러므로 너희 하늘들과 그 안에 거하는 너희는 즐거워하라. 땅과 바다에 사는 자들에게는 화 있으리라! 이는 마귀가 자기 때가 얼마 남지 않았음을 알고 크게 분노하며 너희에게로 내려갔음이라…..기뻐하고 즐거워하며 그분께 존귀를 돌리세, 이는 어린양의 혼인식이 다가왔고 그의 아내도 자신을 예비하였음이라.”(계 12;12; 19:7)

                 그렇습니다! 우리가 이 땅에 사는 동안 우리는 안에 계신 주님과 함께 말씀의 소망 가운데 기뻐하고 즐거워하는 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 그러나 주님께서 오셔서 우리를 하늘로 데려가실 때, 그때 우리는 마귀가 없는 하늘에서 주님과 함께 영원한 즐거움 가운데 살게 되는 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 하나님의 교회요 주 예수 그리스도의 몸된 교회의 지체들은 한 몸이 되어 어린양이신 주님과 혼인을 하게 됨으로써 더 이상 물리적으로 멀리 떨어져 사는 것이 아니라 완전한 한 몸이 되어 영원무궁토록 기쁨과 즐거움 속에 살게 될 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 주님과 혼인한 하나님의 교회는 그리스도와 함께 한 공동상속자들로서 그분과 함께 이 땅을 천년 동안 통치하게 될 것입니다. 그러므로 이 소망이 있는 사람은 이 영광의 소망 안에서 모든 고난을 이겨내며 즐거워할 수 있는 것입니다.

             선지자 스카랴는 성도들이 받을 영광에 대하여 예언했습니다:

“……주 너의 하나님께서 오시리니, 모든 성도들이 주와 함께 하리라. 그 날에는 빛이 명료하지 아니하고 어둡지도 아니하리라. 그러나 주께 알려질 한 날이 있으리리, 낮도 아니요 밤도 아니나 저녁 무렵에 빛이 있게 되리라. 그 날에는 생수가 예루살렘으로부터 솟아나서 그 절반은 앞 바다(사해)로 그 절반은 뒤 바다(지중해)로 흐르리니 여름과 겨울에도 그러하리라. 주께서는 온 땅을 치리할 왕이 되시리니, 그 날에는 한 분 주께서 계실 것이며, 그의 이름 하나만 있으리라.”(슥 14:5-9)

                 오래 전에 이미 하늘로 끌려올라갔던 아담의 칠대 손 선지자 에녹도 휴거된 성도들이 주 예수 그리스도와 함께 이 땅에 영광스럽게 내려올 일에 대하여 예언했습니다:

“보라, 주께서 수만 성도와 함께 오시나니 이는 모든 사람을 심판하시고 그들 가운데 있는 경건치 않은 모든 자가 경건치 않게 행한 모든 경건치 않은 행위와 경건치 아니한 죄인들이 주를 거슬러 말한 모든 거친 말에 대하여 정죄하시려는 것이라. 이들은 원망하는 자들이요, 불평하는 자들이요, 그들의 정욕을 따라 행하는 자들이라. 또 그들의 입으로는 과장하는 말을 하고, 유익을 위해 사람들의 외모를 칭찬하는 자들이라.”(유 1:14-16)

               그러므로 우리는 말씀 안에서 우리에 주신 소망 안에 우리 혼의 닻을 깊히 내리고 확실하고 견고한 소망 가운데 지금부터 세상이 주는 즐거움이 아닌 하나님께서 주시는 영원한 즐거움을 맛보면서 살아야 하는 것입니다. 세상이 주는 육신적인 즐거움에 속지 않고 온전히 그리스도께 속한 자들로서 육신을 욕정과 정욕과 함께 십자가에 못박아야 하는 것입니다. 이런 영적인 즐거움을 맛보는 유일한 길은 주 예수 그리스도를 온 마음을 다해 믿음으로써 하나님의 성령을 받아 그 능력으로 썩을 육신과 세상을 이기는 길밖에 없는 것입니다.

         이에 대하여 솔로몬 왕은 육신의 정욕을 쫓아가는 젊은 이들에게 권면했습니다:

“그러므로 네 마음에서 슬픔을 제하고 네 육체에서 악을 버리라. 이는 어린 시절과 청년 시절이 헛됨이라.”(전 11:10)

Meditation of the week: Psalms 1:1-6

Main scripture: Psalms 119:73-96

Subject: Where are we looking for delight?

             King David understood the hope in the words of God; he confessed, the only thing that he hope for is to be like the Lord in the day of resurrection (Ps. 17:15). Even though the commandments of God trouble him sometimes, he understood that all his commandments are comfort from the mercy of God. So he confessed, “for thy law is my delight.”

He knew, the word of the LORD is settled in heaven forever; and he hope only for the words of God that give him eternal delight.

              He also confessed, unless the law of the LORD had been his delights, he should then have perished in his affliction. He should be perished in his affliction because of temptation through misunderstanding the comfort in the law of the LORD, but he believed, all the affliction given unto him led him unto repentance so that he was purified. Therefore, he could be delighted even in the affliction. And he testified, “Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.”(Ps. 119:77)

And he testified, it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant: and praise is comely (Ps. 147:1)

                King David understood such a great truth, and he testified of the blessed one: “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”(Ps. 1:2,3)

             King Solomon, man of wisdom testified of the one that is wise to encourage the youth:“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”(Eccl. 12:1)

He testified unto young men and women of the true delights, after he understood all things are in vanity through his life pursued the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life in his youth. He encouraged them knowing them pursuing the delights in the flesh to find God that gives eternal delights, when they found that carnal delights are something in vain that are evils.

                God had multiplied the nation of Israel, and not increased the joy (Isa. 9:3) so that they might not be deceived by false delights from Satan, and not forgot God the Creator that gives them eternal joy. The LORD God spoke unto the people of Israel through prophet Isaiah of the day when they may have eternal joy:

 “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away…. For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.”(Isa. 35:10; 51:3)

                 The LORD God that had spoke through his prophets appeared to the earth in the name of JESUS, and he spoke unto the Jews of exceeding glad:

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”(Matt. 5:11,12)

               And the Lord Jesus also spoke unto the children of God of rejoice: “And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.”

In other word, it is the promise of God to give them joy to whomsoever sow the seed of life preaching the gospel or harvest that was sown by others.

                  Apostle Paul also testified of the joy given by God:

 “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:… And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”(Rom. 5:2-4,11)

                   Apostle Peter sent a letter unto the children of God that rejoiced in the midst of afflictions saying,

 “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls…Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”(1Pet. 1:8,9; 4:12-14)

                     Our Lord Jesus Christ had Apostle John testify of the eternal joy that we may have after we are translated into heaven:

 “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time…. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”(Rev. 12:12)

                         Yeah! We may be able to live rejoicing with the Lord within us in the hope of the words of God dwelling in the earth. When our Lord Jesus Christ take us home in heaven, we shall live forever with eternal joy with the Lord in heaven without the Devil anymore. And the members of the church of God as well as the body of Christ shall be perfectly in one body to be married to the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God. And we shall not separated with the Lord physically anymore, but shall be one body with him to live with him with joy and delights forever. Not only this, but the church of God shall be the joint-heir with Christ to reign with him for thousand years in the earth. Therefore, whosoever has this hope is able to overcome all kinds of afflictions, and to rejoice in the glorious hope.

                    Prophet Zechariah prophesied of the glory that the saints shall receive in the future: ” ……… the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.”(Zech 14:5-9)

               Enoch also, the seventh from Adam that was translated to heaven, prophesied of the saints raptured that shall come down gloriously to the earth with the Lord Jesus Christ:

 ” Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.”(Jude 1:14-16)

…………Therefore, we have to draw down the anchor of our soul deeply into the hope given unto us to live tasting the eternal delights in the hope that is sure and firm from God no more the delights from the world. Not being deceived by the carnal delights from the world, we have to crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts as the ones that are Christ’s. The only way to taste such a spiritual delights is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in all the heart to receive the Holy Ghost so that we may be able to overcome corruptible flesh as well as the world. Of this. king Solomon encouraged unto young men and women that are pursuing the lust of the flesh saying,

 “Therefore, remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.”(Eccl. 11:10)
