금주의 묵상: 시편 56:1-13

본문: 시편 147:1-3

제목: 이스라엘과 하나님의 교회가 하나님의 말씀을 찬양해야 하는 이유

         본문에서 시편 기자는 이스라엘 백성들을 향하여 주를 찬양하라고 말씀하시고 있습니다. 그 이유에 대하여 하나님을 찬양하는 것이 좋으며 그것이 즐거움이요, 찬양은 합당한 것이라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 또한 그들이 하나님께 찬양을 드려야 하는 합당한 이유에 대하여 앞으로 하나님께서 그들을 위하여 행하실 위대한 일들을 행하신다는 약속의 말씀들을 찬양하라는 것입니다.

       오늘 본문 말씀에서, “주께서 예루살렘을 지으시고(Build up)”라고 밀씀하고 있습니다. 예루살렘을 지으신다는 것은 앞으로 하나님께서 그들을 위하여 예루살렘을 다시 세우신다는 말씀입니다. 다시 말해서 예루살렘을 아브라함에게 약속하신 대로 완전히 회복하시는 날에 대한 약속입니다. 서기 70년에 로마 티투스 장군에 의해 완전히 멸망한 이후 지금까지 예루살렘이 화평의 도시로 세워진 일은 없었습니다. 주 예수 그리스도께서 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오셔서 이스라엘을 통치하시게 될 때에 비로소 이루어질 것입니다.

         하나님께서는 대 환란 끝에 이스라엘의 남은 자들을 사로잡힌 자들 가운데서 돌이키시고 그들을 그들의 이전 땅으로 돌아가게 하실 것입니다. 선지자 에스겔은 앞으로 미래에 그 일이 성취될 것을 예언했습니다:

“네 자매들, 소돔과 그녀의 딸들이 그들의 이전 땅으로 돌아가고 사마리아와 그녀의 딸들이 그들의 이전 땅으로 돌아가리니 그때 너와 네 딸들이 이전 땅으로 돌아오리라.”(겔 16:55)

           또한 주 예수 그리스도께서 재림하실 때 그들이 찔렀던 주님을 보고 회개할 때에 수천년 동안 민족적으로 마음이 상한 이스라엘을 싸매시고 고쳐주실 것입니다. 선지자 이사야는 앞으로 재림하신 주님께서 이스라엘의 상처를 치유하시고 그들을 박해했던 민족들에게 복수하시는 일에 대하여 예언했습니다:

“주 하나님의 영이 내게 임하셨으니, 이는 주께서 내게 기름을 부으사 온유한 자에게 기쁜 소식을 전파하게 하셨음이라. 그가 나를 보내심은 마음이 상한 사람들을 싸매고, 또한 포로된 자에게 자유를, 갇힌 자에게 감옥이 열림을 선포하며, 주의 기뻐받으시는 해를 선포하고, 우리 하나님의 복수의 날을 선포하며, 모든 슬픈 자를 위로하고 시온에서 슬퍼하는 자들을 정하여 그들에게 재 대신 아름다움을, 슬픔 대신 기쁨의 기름을, 무거운 영 대신 찬양의 의복을 주어 그들로 주의 심으신 의의 나무들이라 불리게 하여 주께서 영광을 받으시려는 것이라.”(사 61:1-5)

           그때가 되면 온 이스라엘은 비로소 찬양의 의복을 입고 그들의 하나님이신 주 예수 그리스도를 온 백성들이 찬양하게 될 것이며 그 찬양 소리가 온 땅에 울러퍼지게 될 것입니다.

             뿐만 아니라, 하나님께서는 선지자 이사야가 예언한 것을 이루시기 위하여 이천 년 전에 사람이 되셔서 자신이 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위하여 십자가에서 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 셋째 날에 다시 부활하셨습니다. 또한 유대인이나 이방인이나 차별없이 자신을 믿는 모든 사람들에게 자신의 영인 성령을 주셔서 하나님의 교회를 세우게 하셨습니다. 성육신 하신 하나님이신 예수께서 이스라엘과 온 세상을 향하여 선포하셨습니다:

“주의 영이 내게 임하시니 이는 가난한 자들에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으심이라. 그가 나를 보내셨으니 이는 마음이 상한 자를 치유케 하시며, 포로들에게 구원을 선포하고, 눈먼 자를 보게 하고, 짓밟힌 자들을 해방시켜 주고 주의 기뻐 받으시는 해(은혜의 해)를 전파하게 하심이라.”(눅 4:18,19)

           그렇습니다! 하나님께서는 주 예수 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내심으로써 그분 안에서 하나님의 자녀들을 입양하시기 위하여 하나님의 교회를 세우신 것입니다. 지난 이천 년 동안 유대인과 이방인들 가운데 미리 아신 자들을 부르시어 의롭게 하시고 또한 그분 안에서 영화롭게 하신 것입니다. 하나님의 교회 또한 이스라엘 백성들 못지 않게 많은 민족들로부터 엄청난 박해를 받아왔으며 짓밟혀 왔습니다. 지금도 세계 도처에서 수많은 하나님의 자녀들이 잔인한 박해와 더불어 하루도 쉬지 않고 죽임을 당하고 있는 것입니다. 북한이나 중국 같은 공산 권에서 또한 이슬람 국가들과 힌두교, 불교권에 있는 많은 하나님의 자녀들이 갇히고 짓밟히고 있는 것입니다. 그러나 그들은 주님을 찬양하고 있습니다. 그들은 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 믿기 때문이며 그 말씀을 믿는 믿음으로 말씀을 찬양하면서 세상을 이기고 있는 것입니다.

         어떻게 그들이 그렇게 비참한 환경 가운데 있으면서 주님을 찬양할 수 있겠습니까? 그들은 그러한 와중에서도 하나님의 교회를 위하여 하늘과 땅에 이루실 약속의 말씀을 믿기 때문인 것입니다.

           하나님께서는 이스라엘을 위하여 이 땅에 있는 예루살렘을 다시 회복하시는 것처럼, 박해받는 하나님의 교회 안에 있는 하나님의 자녀들을 위하여 하늘에 있는 새 예루살렘을 세우실 것이기 때문인 것입니다. 또한 온 땅에 흩어져서 짓밟힌 이스라엘 백성들을 다시 본토로 다시 모으시는 것처럼 온 세상에 흩어져 살면서 박해받는 하나님의 자녀들을 하늘로 모으시기 위하여 주 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 것이기 때문입니다. 이스라엘 백성들의 상한 마음을 싸매시는 주님께서는 하나님의 자녀들의 상한 마음도 온전하게 치유하실 것입니다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 박해받는 성도들에게 편지했습니다:

“자녀이면 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께 한 공동상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라. 이는 현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 될 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이라……그 복된 소망, 곧 위대하신 하나님이신 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다리게 하셨음이니, 그가 우리를 위하여 자신을 주신 것은 우리를 모든 죄악에서 구속하시고 자신을 위해 정결케 하사 선한 일에 열심을 내는 독특한 백성이 되게 하려 하심이라.”(롬 8:17,18,딛2:13,14)

           하나님께서는 하나님의 자녀들에게 엄청난 영적인 복을 주셨습니다. 또한 영원한 자비를 베푸셨습니다. 우리는 마땅히 이러한 축복들을 베푸신 하나님께 감사하고 그분의 이름을 송축해야 할 것입니다. 다윗은 하나님께서 주신 축복들을 잊지 말고 송축해야 함에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“오 내 혼아 주를 송축하라. 내 안에 있는 모든 것들아 그의 거룩한 이름을 송축하라. 오 내 혼아 주를 송축하고 그의 모든 베푸심을 잊지 말라. 그는 네 모든 죄악을 용서하시며 네 모든 질병을 치유하시고 너의 생명을 파멸에서 구속하시며 자애와 온유한 자비들로 네게 관을 씌우시고, 좋은 것들로 네 입을 흡족케 하시니 네 젊음이 우리의 젊음같이 새로워지는도다. 주께서는 압제당하는 모든 사람들을 위하여 의와 심판을 행하시는도다.”(시 103:1-6)

             그러나 이스라엘이나 하나님의 자녀들이 하나님을 찬양하는 이유는 하나님께서 조만간 창세 전에 계획하신 일들을 하늘과 땅에 이루시는 약속의 말씀을 믿음으로써 그분의 말씀을 찬양하는 것이라고 성경은 말씀하고 있는 것입니다. 성령께서는 사도 바울은 통하여 하나님께서 계획하시고 이루시려는 뜻에 대하여 증거하게 하셨습니다;

“그의 기쁘심을 따라 자기 안에서 계획하신 바 그의 뜻의 신비를 우리에게 알게 하셨으니 이는 때에 찬 경륜 안에서 하늘에 있는 것들이나 땅에 있는 것들이나 자신 안에 있는 것들(하나님의 교회들)까지도 만물을 그리스도 안에서 함께 모으시려는 것이라.”(엡 1:9,10)

           하나님의 신비로운 뜻을 깨달은 다윗왕은 자신의 유일한 소망은 부활의 날에 주의 모습으로 변화되는 것으로 만족한다고 고백했습니다(시 17:15). 이로 인하여 그는 그에게 영광스러운 약속을 주신 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하는 기도를 드렸습니다:

“내가 하나님 안에서 주의 말씀을 찬양하리니 내가 나의 신뢰를 하나님께 두나이다. 나는 육체가 내게 행할 수 있는 것을 두려워하지 아니하리이다….하나님 안에서 내가 주의 말씀을 찬양하리니 주 안에서 내가 주의 말씀을 찬양하리이다.”(시 56:4, 10)

         사도 바울이 이방인들에게 복음을 전했을 때 말씀을 들은 모든 이방인들이 하나님을 찬양했습니다. 누가는 이렇게 증거했습니다:

“그때 바울과 바나바가 담대하게 말하기를 ‘하나님의 말씀을 먼저 너희(유대인들)에게 전해야 하는 것이 마땅하나 너희가 그 말씀을 외면하고 너희 스스로가 영생을 받을 자격이 없다고 판단하니, 보라, 우리가 이방인들에게로 향하노라. 이는 주께서 우리에게 명하시기를 ‘내가 너를 이방인의 빛으로 세웠으니 너는 땅끝까지 구원을 메풀라.’하였음이라.’ 하더라. 이방인들이 이 말을 듣자 기뻐하며 주의 말씀을 찬양하였고 영원한 생명을 얻기로 정해진 자들은 다 믿더라. 그리하여 주의 말씀이 온 지역에 퍼지더라.”(행 13:46-49)

           그렇습니다! 그리스도의 은혜의 복음을 듣고 구원받은 모든 유대인이나 이방인들은 하나님의 말씀을 찬양했습니다. 하나님의 말씀 안에서 그분께서 하늘과 땅에 이루실 뜻을 믿는 믿음만이 모든 고난을 이길 수 있는 것입니다. 우리들도 사도 바울과 바나바를 통하여 전해주신 복음을 선교사들을 통하여 듣고 구원을 받게 된 것입니다. 우리들 또한 하나님께서 값었이 은혜로 주신 영원한 생명과 또한 우리에게 배푸신 모든 축복들과 자비들에 대하여 감사하고 송축해야 함은 물론 그분의 말씀 안에 있는 약속을 믿음으로써 하나님의 말씀을 찬양해야 하는 것입니다. 이것이 진정한 찬양이라고 성경이 말씀하시기 때문입니다.

             사도 바울은 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게 편지할 때에 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 자들 안에서 역사하심으로써 진정한 찬양을 드릴 수 있음에 대하여 증거했던 것입니다:

“이로 인하여 우리가 하나님께 쉬지 않고 감사함은 너희가 우리에게 들은 바 하나님의 말씀을 받을 때에 사람의 말로 받아들이지 아니하고 사실 그대로 하나님의 말씀으로 받았음이니, 이 말씀이 믿는 너희 가운데서도 효과적으로 역사하느니라.”(살전 2:13)

Meditation of the week: Psalms 56:1-13

Main scripture: psalms 147:1-3

Subject: The reason why Israel and the church of God praise the word of God

                 In the main passage, the writer of psalms is asking the people of Israel to praise the LORD. Of the reason, it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant ; and praise is comely. And also of the appropriate reason why they have to praise their God is to praise the words of the LORD that he will do the great things for them in the future.

               In the main passage, it is said, the LORD doth build up Jerusalem. To build Jerusalem means, their God will rebuild Jerusalem for them in the future. In other word, the word of God is of the promise to restore Jerusalem as the LORD gave unto Abraham. Since Jerusalem was devastated not leaving a stone on a stone by Titus, the Roman general, there has never been built again as a city of peace. The restoration of Jerusalem as the city of peace shall be done when the Lord Jesus Christ reigns Israel in his Millennium kingdom coming as the Lord of Lord and the King of Kings.

             . God will deliver the remnant of Israel from their captivity at the end of the Great Tribulation; and let them return their old land of promise. Prophet Ezekiel prophesied of this:

“When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate”(EZ 16:55)

                 When they repent looking at the Lord Jesus that they pierced, God will heal the broken hearts of the people of Israel that had been lasted thousands of years, and bind their wounds. Prophet Isaiah prophesied of healing of Israel, and of revenge against the nations that persecuted them at the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”(Isa. 61:1-5)

                 When the time is fulfilled, all the people of Israel shall be clothed with the garment of praise, and praise their God that is the Lord Jesus Christ. And the sound of their praise shall be spread out to all the earth.

                  Two thousand years ago, God became a man to fulfill the prophesy of Isaiah, and died on the cross to take away the sin of the world, and buried and rose again the third day. He has given his Spirit that is the Holy Ghost unto whosoever believes in him whether they are Jew or Gentiles for them build his church. Jesus, God incarnated proclaimed toward Israel as well as all the earth saying,

 “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”(Luke 4:18,19)

             Yeah! God have built his church to adopt his children in the Lord Jesus Christ sent by him. For the last two thousand years, God has called them that he foreknew from the Jews and the Gentiles to justify them, and to glorify them in him. The church of God has been persecuted severely by may nations as the Jews, and bruised as well. Even nowadays, many children of God are persecuted severely without ceasing, and killed in many nations. They are the Christians in the communist countries such as North Korea and China as well as in the nations of Hinduism and Buddhism. In the midst of severe persecution, they are praising the Lord, because they believe the words of promise of God; they are now overcoming the world by faith in the words of God praising the word of God.

                 How they could praise the Lord in the midst of miserable environments? Because they believe in the word of God of the things to be fulfilled in heaven and earth for the church of God.

                 As God will restore Jerusalem in the earth for Israel, he will build the New Jerusalem in heaven for the children of God in his church. And as God will gather the people of Israel bruised in all the earth to their old promised land, the Lord Jesus Christ will appear in the air to gather together the children of God to heaven that have been persecuted in all the earth. As God will heal the broken hearts of Israel, he will heal the broken hearts of the children of God thoroughly. Therefore Apostle Paul wrote unto the saints under persecution:

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us…. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”(Rom. 8:17,18, Tit. 2:13,14)

                 God has given a great spiritual blessings unto the children of God, and also gave the same kind of mercy. We have to give thanks unto God for his blessings , and bless the name of the Lord as well. King David encouraged to bless the name of the LORD for his blessings unto us:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.”(Ps. 103:1-6)

                     The scriptures testify unto us of the appropriate reason for Israel as well as the church of God; it is to praise the word of God that will fulfill his will plan in heaven and earth established before the foundation of the world sooner or later. The Holy Ghost testified through Apostle Paul of the will of God to be fulfilled:

“Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”(Eph. 1:9,10)

                   King David understood the mystery of the will of God, and confessed that he shall be satisfied if he shall be like Christ Jesus in the day of resurrection in the future(Ps 17:15). He prayed unto the LORD praising the word of God that gave him the glorious promise:

“In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me….. 10In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.”(Ps. 56:4,10)

                 When Apostle Paul preached the gospel unto the Gentiles, they praised the word of God. Luke testified of this in the book of Acts saying,

“Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.”(Acts 13:46-49)

                 Yeah! All the Jews and Gentiles praise the word of God upon hearing the gospel of grace of Christ. Only they that believe in the will of God to be fulfilled in heaven and earth in his words are able to overcome the world. We have been saved through hearing the gospel that was preached by Apostle Paul and Barnabas through the missionaries. We are obliged to give thanks and to bless the Lord for the eternal life freely with grace, as well as all kinds of blessing and his mercies. But more important thing that we have to do is to praise the word of God believing all the promises in his words. The scriptures testify that this is the true praising God.

             Apostle Paul wrote a letter unto the saints of Thessalonians to testify of the true praising unto God through effective working in them that believe the words of God:

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”(1Thes. 2:13) Amen! Hallelujah!
