금주의 묵상: 시편 98:1-9

본문: 이사야 61:1-6

제목: 하나님만이 주실 수 있는 영원한 자유(Liberty)

        하나님께서는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 칠백 년 정도가 지난후 하나님께서 인자가 되셔서 예수라는 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나셔서 하실 일에 대하여 두 가지로 예언하게 히셨습니다. 첫 번째는 세상 죄를 위하여 죽으려고 오시는 초림이며, 두 번째는 심판하러 오시는 재림에 대한 예언인 것입니다.

       첫 번째로 나타나실 때에는 성령으로 충만하게 기름부으심을 받으시고 온유한 자에게 기쁜 소식들을 전하시고, 마음이 상한 사람들을 싸매시고, 포로된 자에게 자유(Liberty)를, 갇힌 자에게 감옥이 열림을 선포하실 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.

        선지자 이사야의 예언대로, 마침내 하나님께서는 예수라는 이름으로 유대 땅 갈릴리에 나타나셨습니다. 누가는 선지자 이사야의 예언이 성취된 것에 대하여 다음과 같이 증거했습니다:

“예수께서 성령의 권능으로 갈릴리로 돌아오시니 그의 명성이 온 지방에 두루 퍼지더라. 주께서 그들의 회당에서 가르치시니 모든 사람에게서 영광을 받으시더라. 주께서 자라나신 나사렛에 오셔서 자신의 관례에 따라 안식일에 회당에 들어가서 성경을 읽으려고 서시더라. 선지자 이사야의 책을 드리니 그 책을 펴시고 이같이 기록된 부분을 찾으시더라. ‘주의 영이 내게 임하시니 이는 가난한 자들에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으심이라. 그가 나를 보내셨으니 이는 마음이 상한 자를 치유케 하시며, 포로들에게 구원을 선포하고, 눈 먼 자를 보게 하고 짓밟힌 자들을 해방시켜 주고 주의 기뻐 받으시는 해를 전파하게 하려 하심이라.”(눅 4:14-19)

        이 말씀을 읽으신 후에 책을 덮으셨습니다. 그리고 나서 예수께서는 “이 성경이 오늘날 너희 귀에 이루어졌느니라.”고 말씀하심으로써 자신이 바로 선지자 이사야가 예언한 바로 인자로 나타나신 하나님이심을 선포하신 것입니다. 선지자 이사야의 글에는 연이어, “우리 하나님의 복수의 날을 선포하며, 모든 슬픈 자를 위로하고 시온에서 슬퍼하는 자들을 향하여 그들에게 재 대신 아름다움을, 슬픔 대신 기쁨의 기름을 , 무거운 영 대신 찬양의 의복을 주어 그들로 주의 심으신 의의 나무들이라 불리게 하여 주께서 영광을 받으시려는 것이라…..”(사 61:2,3….)고 말씀하고 있습니다.

        다시 말해서 예수께서는 자신의 죽으심과 장사되심과 셋째 날에 부활하심을 통하여 유대인이나 이방인이나 누구든지 자신을 믿는 사람들에게 주실 은혜에 대하여 말씀하신 후, 자신이 심판 주로 지상에 다시 오셔서 이방 나라들을 심판하고 이스라엘을 회복하실 일에 대하여는 더 이상 읽지 않으시고 책을 덮으셨던 것입니다.

      주님께서는 사탄이 이 땅에 가져온 죄로 말미암아 모든 사람들의 마음을 상하게 한 악한 생각과 간음과 음행과 살인과 도둑질과 탐욕과 악의와 사기와 방탕과 악한 눈과 하나님을 모독함과 교만과 어리석음(막 7:21,22)을 자신의 피로 씻어주심으로써 마음을 정결케 하실 것이라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

        사도 베드로는 로마 백부장 고넬료의 집에 가서 복음을 전했을 때 그의 모든 가족들이 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 침례받은 것을 보고 다른 유대인들에게 증거했습니다: “마음을 아시는 하나님께서는 우리에게 행하신 것과 마찬가지로 그들에게도 증거하시어 성령을 주셨으며 우리와 그들 사이에 어떤 차이도 두지 아니하셨으니 믿음으로 그들의 마음을 정결케 하셨느니라.”(행 15:8,9)

        또한 아담 이후로 땅에 있는 모든 사람들은 죄와 사망과 저주에 의해 포로가 되어 죽는 날까지 어느누구도 그들을 자유케 할 수 없이 살다가 마침내 마귀와 그의 천사들을 위해 예비해 놓으신 지옥이라는 영원한 감옥 속에 이미 들어가 있는 사람들을 구원하시려고 오신 것입니다. 죄와 사망과 저주로부터 자유를 줄 수 있는 사람은 주 예수 그리스도밖에 아무도 없는 것입니다. 또한 어느누구도 지옥 문을 열고 그 안에 갇힌 자들을 구해낼 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없는 것입니다. 범죄로 인하여 세상 감옥에 들어간 사람을 위하여 Bail Bond를 사서 일시적으로 감옥으로부터 꺼내 줄 수는 있으나 영원한 불감옥인 지옥으로부터는 어느누구도 꺼내 줄 수 없는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 다른 사람들을 위하여 사망에 이르는 죄값을 치를 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없으며 오직 죄를 알지도 못하는 하나님이신 예수 그리스도만이 자신의 죽음을 통하여 자신의 피로 우리의 모든 죄값을 치르시고 제거하실 수 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 그분을 믿으로써 그 안에서 하나님의 의로 옷입는 길밖에 없는 것입니다. 그러므로 그분께서 주시는 자유는 일시적인 Freedom이 아닌 영원한 Liberty인 것입니다.

        이천 년 전에 책을 덮으셨던 주님께서 두 번째로 세상에 오실 때에는 더 이상 은혜의 복음이 전파되지 않을 것이며 그때에는 기뻐받으시는 해가 아닌 복수의 날을 선포하실 것입니다. 그분께서는 시온에서 슬퍼하는 자들을 위로하실 것입니다. 이 땅에서 박해받고 있는 유대인들을 위한 복수의 날로 선포하실 것입니다. 이스라엘을 회복하시기 위하여 시온에서 슬퍼하는 자들에게 재 대신 아름다움을, 슬픔 대신 기쁨의 기름을 , 무거운 영 대신 찬양의 의복을 주어 그들로 주의 심으신 의의 나무들이라 불리게 하여 주께서 영광을 받으실 것입니다.

        이스라엘이 회복될 때에 있을 일에 대하여 선지자 이사야는 계속해서 예언했습니다: “그들은 오래 황폐되었던 곳을 세울 것이며 전날의 허물어진 것들을 일으키고, 또 황폐된 성읍들과 많은 세대들의 허물어진 곳을 보수할 것이라. 타국인들이 일어나 너희 양떼를 먹일 것이요, 외국인의 아들들이 너희의 경작자와 포도원 가꾸는 사람이 되리라. 그러나 너희는 주의 제사장들이라 불릴 것이요, 사람들이 너희를 우리 하나님의 일꾼들이라 부를 것이라. 너희가 이방인들의 재물을 먹을 것이며, 그들의 영광으로 너희가 너희 스스로 자랑하리라. 이는 너희 수치로 인해 배나 가질 것이며 치욕으로 인해 그들은 그들의 분깃을 즐거워할 것임이니, 그러므로 그들이 그들의 땅에서 배나 차지할 것이요 영원한 기쁨이 그들에게 있게 되리라.”(사 61:4-7)

        이 땅에 제사장 민족이 되는 유대인들뿐 아니라 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 하나님의 자녀이며 그리스도의 신부된 교회, 즉 성령으로 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들에게도 그리스도와 함께 고난을 받은 것에 대한 보상으로 그리스도와 함께 한 공동상속자들로서 이 땅을 통치하는 왕같은 제사장들이 되는 축복을 주실 것입니다(롬 8:17,벧전 2:9). 그러므로 사도바울은 하나님의 자녀들이 받을 축복에 대하여 “현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 될 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이라…피조물 자체도 그 썩어짐의 속박으로부터 해방되어 하나님의 자녀의 영광스러운 자유(Glorious Liberty)에 이를 것이기 때문이라.”(롬 8:18,21)고 증거했던 것입니다.

        마침내 하나님께서는 자신의 독생자를 믿지 않은 모든 민족들을 그 날에 심판하실 것입니다. 선지자 하박국은 그 날의 심판에 대하여 에언했습니다: “주께서는 분개 가운데 땅을 활보하셨으며 분노 가운데서 이방을 밟으셨나이다. 주께서는 주의 백성의 구원을 위하여, 곧 주의 기름부음받은 자와 함께하는 구원을 위하여 나가시어 그 기초를 끝까지 드러내심으로써 악인의 집에서 그 머리에 상처를 입히셨나이다. 셀라. 주께서는 그의 막대기들로 그의 마을들의 우두머리를 찌르셨나이다. 그들이 회오리바람처럼 나와서 나를 흩으려 하였나이다. 그들의 즐거움은 가난한 자를 몰래 삼키는 것이었나이다. 주께서는 주의 말들을 타시고 바다, 곧 큰 물 무더기를 통과하였나이다.”(합 3:12-15)

       사도 요한은 성령 안에서 흰 말을 타시고 흰말들을 타고 그분을 따르는 성도들과 함께 하늘문을 여시고 하늘에 있는 깊음, 즉 물무더기를 통과해서 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오시는 주 예수 그리스도를 보고 증거했던 것입니다. 그분께서는 그의 입에서 나오는 예리한 칼로 민족들을 칠 것이며 또 철장으로 그들을 다스리실 것이며 전능하신 하나님의 맹렬한 포도즙틀을 밟으실 것이라고 사도 요한은 증거했습니다(계 19:11-16).

        그렇습니다. 지금도 여전히 은혜의 문은 열려있는 것입니다. 자신의 죄를 위하여 주 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 장사되심 그리고 셋째날에 부활하심을 믿음으로써 모든 죄들이 용서되어 제거되어 마음이 정결케 되어 상한 심령이 치유받으며 죄와 사망과 저주로부터 영원히 자유롭게 되어 열려있는 지옥문으로부터 걸어나올 수 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 오늘이 은혜받을 날이며 구원의 날이며 영원한 자유(Liberty)를 얻는 날인 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 98:1-9

Main scripture: Isaiah 61:1-6

Subject: The eternal freedom that is liberty that only God can give us

        The LORD God had prophet Isaiah prophecy of appearing as the Son of man in the name of Jesus in the earth; and of what he should do two different things. The first one is to die for the sin of the world for his first coming; and the second coming to judge the world.

        In his first coming, he shall be anointed with the Holy Ghost fully so that he may preach good tidings unto the meek; and bind up the brokenhearted; and proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prison to them that are bound.

        As prophet Isaiah prophesied, God was manifested as the Son of man in the name of Jesus in Galilee, Judea. Luke testified of the fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah as follows:

“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”(Luke 4:14-19)

        Then, he closed the book; and he said, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Jesus proclaimed himself as God manifested as the Son of God as prophet Isaiah prophesied. And the prophecy of Isaiah is continued to say, “…and to proclaim the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”(Isa. 61:2,3)

        In other word, after Jesus testified of the grace to be given unto them that believe on his death and burial and resurrection the third day whether the Jews or the gentiles, he not continued to read of his second coming to judge the nations of the Gentiles, and restore the nation of Israel; and he closed the book.

        He meant to cleanse the heart of men that had been broken because of the sin that was brought forth by Satan with his blood. He was going to take away all kinds of evils in the heart of men such as evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness (mark 7:21,22).

        Apostle Peter preached the gospel unto the family of Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band; and he found them to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be baptized. He testified unto the other Jewish Christians saying, “And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.”(Acts 15:8,9)

        And Jesus came to deliver them that had been in captivity because of sin and death and curses without any hope in the eternal prison that was prepared for the devil and his angels. There in no one else that can give the liberty from sin and death and curses but the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one else Jesus that can open the gate of hell to deliver them that are in captivity. It may be possible to free men from jail using bail bond temporally; but no one can deliver men from the eternal fiery hell. In other word, no one can pay for the wage of sin unto death, but our Lord Jesus Christ who knew no sin could pay the price of all sins to take them away. The thing that the Lord Jesus Christ gives us the liberty, not the freedom that is temporal.

       Two thousand years ago, Jesus closed the book of Isaiah not mentioning the judgment; but he shall not preach the gospel of grace anymore in his second coming. He shall proclaim the day of vengeance, no more the acceptable year of the LORD. He shall comfort them that mourn in Zion; it shall be the day of vengeance for the Jews being persecuted. To restore Israel, he shall appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called the trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that might be glorified.

        Prophet Isaiah continued to say what is going to happen in the days of the restoration of Israel:

“And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.”(Isa. 61:4-7)

        Not only the people of Israel that shall be named to be the Priests of the LORD in the earth, but also the church of God that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ that is the children of God as well as the bride of Christ shall be also the Priests in the earth reigning with Christ as the joint-heir with Christ as rewarded as much as they suffer with Christ (Rom. 8:17, 1Pet. 2:9).

Apostle Paul testified of the blessing of the children of God saying,

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

…. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”(Rom. 8:18,21)

        After all, all the nations that not believe the only begotten Son of God shall be judge in that day. Prophet Habakkuk testified of the judgment against the nations of the Gentiles:

“Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.

Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters.”(Hab. 3:12-15)

        Apostle John saw the Lord Jesus Christ coming as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords in the Spirit, and he testified of him as well as the saints following him riding white horses opening the heaven, and smiting the nations with a sharp sword out of his mouth, and ruling them with a rod of iron, and treading the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God (Rev. 19:11-16).

        Yeah! Even now, the door of grace is still open. Whosoever believe on death for his sins, and burial and his resurrection the third day of the Lord Jesus Christ shall receive the remission of sins, and shall purify his heart to be healed the broken heart, and shall be able to walk out of the gate of hell to receive the eternal liberty out of sin and death and curses. Therefore, today is the day for receiving the grace as well as eternal liberty. Amen! Hallelujah!
