금주의 묵상: 시편 56:1-13

본문: 아모스 8:11-14

제목: 하나님의 말씀을 듣지 못하는 기근

      하나님께서는 선지자 예레미야를 통하여 하나님을 신뢰하는 사람의 축복과, 하나님을 떠나서 육신을 그의 무기로 삼는 사람과 그의 마음이 주로부터 떠난 사람이 받을 저주에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“주가 이같이 말하노라. 사람을 신뢰하는 사람과 육신을 그의 무기로 삼는 사람과 그의 마음이 주로부터 떠난 사람은 저주를 받으리라. 그는 사막의 히스 나무같이 되어 좋은 일이 오는 것을 보지 못하고 광야와 소금 땅과 사람이 살지 않는 바싹 마른 곳에 거하리라. 주를 신뢰하고 그의 소망을 주께 두는 사람은 복이 있도다. 그는 물가에 심겨진 나무 같아서 더위가 와도 걱정하지 않고 그 잎이 푸르러 가뭄의 해에도 염려하지 않고 열매를 맺는 것도 그치지 않을 것임이라.”(렘 17:7,8)

        또한 사람의 마음이 거짓되고 심히 악하다고 말씀하시면서 아무도 그 사실을 알 수 없을 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 각 사람의 마음을 살피시고 속을 시험하며 그 사람의 행위와 행실의 결과대로 각 사람에게 주신다고 말씀하셨습니다(렘 17:9,10).

       하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들의 마음이 거짓되고 악함을 보시고 말씀하시면서 그들은 이스라엘의 소망이신 주 하나님을 버린 자가 받을 수치에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다. 또한 주 하나님을 떠난 이스라엘은 흙에 기록될 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 이유에 대하여 하나님께서는 그들이 생수의 근원이신 자신을 버렸기 때문이라고 말씀하셨습니다(렘 17:9-13).

        하나님께서는 그들이 광야를 행진할 때 사막 한 가운데서 반석을 치게 하셔서 그들에게 생수를 주어 마시게 하셨습니다. 그것도 두 번이나 마시게 했던 것입니다. 그것은 반석이신 하나님의 몸을 치게 하셔서 물과 피를 쏟으시고 그분을 신뢰하는 사람들에게 생수인 영원한 생명을 주시는 은혜를 미리 보여주신 것입니다.

      사도 바울은 성령 안에서 그 반석에 대하여 증거했습니다:
“형제들아, 이제 나는 너희가 모르는 것을 원치 아니하노니, 이는 우리 조상들이 모두 구름 아래 있었고 모두 바다를 통과하였으며, 모두 구름과 바다 속에서 침례를 받았고, 또 모두 같은 영적 음식을 먹었으며, 모두 같은 영적 음료를 마셨다는 것이라. 이는 그들이 따랐던 그 영적 반석에서 나온 것을 마셨음이요, 그 반석은 그리스도셨느니라. 그러나 하나님께서 그들 대부분을 그리 기뻐하지 아니하셨으므로 그들이 광야에서 죽어 넘어졌느니라. 이제 이런 일들은 우리의 봄보기가 되어, 그들이 열망하였던 것같이 우리도 악한 일들을 열망하는 자가 되지 않게 하려 함이라.”(고전 10:1-6)

        예수께서 사마리아에 있는 여인이 물을 긷기 위하여 우물가에 왔을 때, ” 이 물을 마시는 사람은 누구든지 다시목마르려니와 내가 주는 물을 마시는 사람은 누구든지 영원히 목마르지 아니하리라. 그러나 내가 그에게 주는 물은 그 사람 안에서 영원한 생명으로 솟아오르는 샘물이 되리라.”(요 4:13,14)고 말씀하셨습니다. 사실 그녀는 자신이 영적으로 목마르다는 사실은 전혀 깨닫지 못하고 있었습니다. 다만 육신적이 목마름만 느끼고 있었지만 에수님을 만나 그분의 말씀을 들었을 때 비로서 자신의 목마름이 육신적은 갈증이 아니라 영적인 것을 비로소 알게 되었던 것입니다.

          주님께서 행하신 기적을 보고 주님ㅇㄹ 따라온 수천명의 유대인들을 먹이시기 위하여 한 소년이 드린 보리빵 다섯 덩어리와 작은 물고기 두 마리로 기적을 일으키셔서 그들 모두를 배부르게 먹게 하신 후 남은 것이 열두 광주리가 되는 것을 보여주셨습니다. 그들 역시 사마리아 여인처럼 육신적인 배고픔만을 따라가는 자들인 것을 미리 아셨습니다. 그들이 예수님을 왕으로 세우기를 원하는 것을 아시고 다시 홀로 산으로 피하시다가 밤에 물 위로 걸어가셔서 제자들과 다시 만나셨습니다.

        주님을 찾아헤매던 사람들이 바다 건너편에 와 계신 주님을 찾아왔을 때 주님께서는 그들의 마음 속에 있는 것을 아시고 “진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 너희가 나를 찾는 것은 기적들을 보았기 때문이 아니라 빵을 먹고 배부른 까닭이라. 썩는 음식을 위하여 일하지 말고 영생에 이르는 음식을 위하여 일하라. 인자가 너희에게 그것을 주리니, 이는 아버지께서 그를 인치셨기 때문이라.”(요 6:26,27)고 말씀하셨습니다.

또한 그들이 하나님의 일에 대하여 물었을 때 “이것이 하나님의 일이니, 즉 그분이 보내신 이를 너희가 믿는 것이라.”(요 6:29)고 말씀하셨습니다.

        마침내 주님께서는 사마리아 여인에게 말씀하셨던 것처럼 영적인 양식에 대하여 말씀하시기 시작하셨습니다:

“나는 하늘에서 내려온 살아있는 빵이니 누구든지 이 빵을 먹으면 영원히 살리라. 또 내가 줄 이 빵은 세상의 생명을 위하여 줄 나의 살이라….진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 너희가 인자의 살을 먹지 않고 또 그의 피를 마시지 아니하면 너희 안에 생명이 없느니라.. 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 누구든지 영원한 생명을 가졌나니 내가 그를 마지막 날에 살리리라. 이는 내살은 참된 양식이요, 내 피는 참된 음료임이라. 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 내안에 거하며 나도 그 사람 안에 거하느니라. 살아 계신 아버지께서 나를 보내셨고 내가 아버지로 말미암아 사는 것같이 나를 먹는 사람 역시 나로 말미암아 살리라. “(요 6:50,51,53-56)

      마침내 주님께서는 자신의 살과 피가 무엇인지에 대하여 말씀하셧습니다:

“살리는 것은 영이니, 육은 전혀 무익하니라. 내가 너희에게 한 말들은 영이요 생명이라.”(요 6:63) 예수께서는 그들의 썩을 몸 안에 있는 죽은 영으로 인해서 썩을 음식만 찾고 있다는 사실을 께닫게 하시려고 하셨으나 열한 제자들 외에는 아무도 깨닫는 자가 없음으로 인해 모두 주님을 떠났던 것입니다.

        오늘날에도 수많은 무리들이 교회에 와서 예배드리고 기도하고 하나님의 말씀을 듣기도 합니다. 그러나 그들 가운데 몇 사람이 자신이 영적으로 죽어있는 것을 깨닫고 영원한 생명을 얻기 위하여 주 예수 그리스도의 살과 피를 먹고 마심으로써 영원한 생명을 얻기 위하여 그분을 전심으로 믿고 있는지 알 수 없는 것입니다. 이천 년 전의 사람이나 지금 사람들이나 모두 같은 사람들이니 가히 짐작할 수 있는 것입니다. 주님께서는 유대인들에게 말씀하실 때 ” 너희는 생명을 얻으려고 내게 오기를 원치 아니하는도다.”(요 5:40)라고 말씀하심으로써 주님께 나아오는 목적이 육신적임에 대하여 말씀하셨던 것입니다.

        오늘 우리는 선지자 아모스가 예언한 말씀 가운데 앞으로 일어날 그 날들에 대하여 말씀하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있습니다:

“주 하나님이 말하노니, 보라, 그 날들이 오리라. 내가 땅에 기근을 보내리니 빵의 기근도 아니요, 물로 인한 갈증도 아니라. 오직 주의 말씀들을 듣지 못하는 기근이니라. 사람들이 바다에서 바다까지, 북쪽에서 동쪽까지 방황할 것이요, 사람들이 주의 말씀을 찾으려고 이리저리 달릴 것이나 그것을 찾지 못하리라. 그 날에는 아름다운 처녀들과 청년들이 갈증으로 인하여 기진 하리라.”(암 8:11-13)

        우리는 이 말씀을 통하여 지금이야말로 그 날들이 우리 앞에 이른 것을 알 수 있습니 다. 많은 젊은 이들이 영적인 기근과 영적인 갈증을 깨닫게 되어 이리저리 달리 는 것을 볼 수 있어야 합니다. 늙은 사람들은 세상에 찌들려서 영적인 배고픔이나 영적인 목마름을 전혀 느끼지 못하는 것을 흔히 볼 수 있습니다. 이제 거듭난 교회가 휴거되고 대 환란이 오게 될 때에는 그야말로 하나님의 말씀을 들을 기회가 전혀 없어질 것입니다. 모든 영적인 설교자들이 이미 이 땅에 없게 될 것이기 때문입니다. 이 세상은 점점 악한 세상으로 변하고 있습니다. 젊은이들이 이 세상에서 소망이 없음을 더욱 절실히게 느끼는 때가 된 것입니다. 이때야말로 영적인 목마름을 깨닫고 영원한 생명을 주시는 생수의 근원이신 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로써 영원한 생명을 받아야 하는 마지막 기회의 시간이 된 것입니다. 또한 생명의 말씀들을 풍성하게 먹고 수많은 혼들을 생수의 근원이신 주 예수 그리스도께로 이겨와야 하는 그리스도의 군사가 되어야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 “우리가 참으면 우리도 그리스도와 함께 다스릴 것이요 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2:12)고 권면했습니다.

Meditation of the week: Psalms 56:1-13

Main scripture: Amos 8:11-14

Subject: Famine of not hearing the word of God

      The LORD God spoke of the blessing for them that trust in him, and the curse for them that trust in man, and make flesh their arm, and whose heart depart from the LORD through prophet Jeremiah:

 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”(Jer. 17:7,8)

        The LORD God declared that the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, but he doubted who can know it? And he continued to say, I the LORD search the heart, and he tries the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings (Jer. 17:9,10)

        Seeing the heart of the people of Israel is deceitful and wicked, the LORD God testified of the shame of them that forsake the LORD God that is the hope of Israel; he also said, they shall be written in the earth. Of that reason, for they had forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters (Jer. 17:9-13)

        When the people of Israel were marching in the desert, the LORD God gave living waters to drink striking the Rock; not once but twice. The LORD God showed them the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ striking his body that is the Rock to shed waters and blood so that they may believe in him to receive the eternal life as living waters.

        Apostle Paul testified of the Rock in the Spirit:

 ”Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.”(1Cor. 10:1-6)

        Jesus said unto the woman in Samaria, when she came to the well to draw water:

“Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall.”(John 4:13,14)

She didn’t understand at all that she is thirsty spiritually, only feeling carnal thirst. Upon hearing the word of Jesus, she became to understand that her thirst is not the carnal one, but spiritual one.

        Afterwards, Jesus fed thousands of the Jew that followed him seeing the miracles of him using five barley and two fishes from a boy to make them filled with the food, and showed them twelve basket full left over. Jesus knew, they were also pursuing to fill their hunger with corruptible food only as the woman in Samaria. Perceiving that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, Jesus departed again into a mountain himself alone. And he walked on the sea at night to meet with his disciples.

        The crowd of people were searching for Jesus, and found him at the other side of the sea; Jesus said unto them knowing their heart:

 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”(John 6:26,27)

They asked how they might do the work of God; and he said unto them, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”(John 6:29)

          Finally, Jesus began to speak unto them of the spiritual food as he did unto the woman in Samaria:

 “This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

… Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”(John 6:50,51,53-56)

        Finally, Jesus explained about what is his flesh and his blood saying, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63)

Jesus tried to make them understood that they were looking for the corruptible food because of their dead spirit in their corruptible body, no one understood except his disciples. They departed him not leaving any one of them.

        Nowadays, crowds of people come to churches to worship and pray and hear the word of God. No one knows how many of them truly understand of their dead spirit, and receive the flesh of Jesus as well as drink his blood for eternal life believing on him in all their hearts. People in the time of Jesus as well as them nowadays must be in same situation. Jesus said unto the Jews saying, “Ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”(John 5:40) knowing, they came to him for carnal ones.

        Now, we hear of the days to come in the prophesy of prophet Amos:

 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.”(Amos 8:11-13)

        We may understand, the days have already come before our eyes. We should able to see many of young men and women running to and fro to seek the words of God to fill their spiritual famine and thirst. On the other hand, elderly people tend to be possessed by the world deeply because of their burden of weary life so that they may not be able to seek their spiritual famine as well as spiritual thirst at all. After the rapture of the born again churches, there shall be no opportunity to hear the words of God in the Great tribulation; then all the spiritual preachers shall be no more in the world.

      This world are getting worse and worse daily. This is the right time for young generation of people to fine out no hope at all in this world. Nowadays is the final opportunity for them to understand their spiritual famine and thirst, and to hearken the words of God that is the fountain of the living waters to receive the eternal life by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; and they are supposed to be fed by the living words of God abundantly to be the army of Christ to win souls unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul encouraged saying, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”(2Tim 2;12)
