금주의 묵상: 시편 146:1-10

본문: 욥기 7:1-10

제목: 옛 세상, 현 세상 그리고 오는 세상

       지금으로부터 약 사천 년 전에 이 세상을 살았던 욥은 자신의 몸에 임한 치유불가능한 상처들을 입고서 모든 사람들에게 언젠가는 죽음이 임하는 사실을 처음으로 절감하면서 친구에게 답변하고 있습니다. 세상에 태어난 모든 사람에게 정해진 시간이 있다는 것과 결국은 허무하게 마지막을 보내다가 떠나게 된다는 사실을 증거하고 있습니다. 결국 몸에 죽을 병이 걸리게 되면서 그나마 사는 날들도 고난 가운데 소망 없이 지나다가 떠나게 된다는 것을 증거하고 있습니다. 또한 이 세상을 떠나게 되면 더 이상 좋은 것을 볼 수 없으며 결국은 무덤으로 들어갈 수밖에 없음을 고백하고 있는 것입니다.

     오늘날에도 수많은 사람들이 같은 고백을 하면서 세상을 떠나고 있는 것입니다. 아담이 범죄하여 이 세상에 죄와 사망과 저주가 들어온 이후 너무나도 많은 사람들이 태어났다가 이렇게 속절없이 한탄하면서 세상을 떠났다는 것을 마음 속에 새겨볼 때 너무나도 슬픈 일이 아닐 수 없는 것입니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 이 세상에 태어난 모든 사람들을 일일히 살펴보시면서 그들로 하여금 하나님을 알도록 기다리시는 것입니다. 다윗왕은 자신의 아들 솔로몬에게 권고했습니다:

“너, 내 아들 솔로몬아, 너는 네 아버지 하나님을 알라. 그리고 온전한 마음과 기쁜 뜻으로 그분을 섬기라. 주께서는 모든 마음을 살피시고 생각의 모든 상상을 아시나니, 만일 네가 그분을 찾으면 그가 너를 만나실 것이나, 만일 네가 그분을 버리면 그가 너를 영원히 버리시리라.”(대상 28:9)

      하나님께서는 욥이 당시에 온전하고 정직하며, 하나님을 두려워하고 악을 피하는 사람인 것을 아셨습니다. 하나님께서는 그를 참소하는 사탄에게 “너는 내 종 욥을 유의해 보았느냐? 세상에 그와 같은 사람은 아무도없나니 그는 온전하고 정직한 사람으로 하나님을 두려워하고 악을 피하는 자니라.”고 말씀하셨습니다(욥 1:8). 그 당시에는 하나님께서 율법을 주시기 전이었으므로 자신의 양심에 따라 행한 사람을 온전하고 정직하고 악을 피하는 사람이라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 하나님께서는 어느 시대에나 그 시대에 하나님께서 원하시는대로 행하는 자들을 친히 살피시고 아시는 것입니다.

        아담이후 천 년이 지난 어느날 하나님께서는 노아를 부르셨습니다. 아담 이후 천 년 동안 얼마나 많은 사람들이 살고 있었는지 모르지만 천 년 동안 번성한 사람들은 온 땅을 채울 정도가 되었어도 그 당시 노아만이 하나님의 눈에서 은혜를 찾았다고 성경은 말씀하고 있습니다(창 6:8). 노아는 욥처럼 당대의 의인이며 완전한 사람으로서 하나님과 동행한 사람이었습니다(창 6:9) 그러나 당시에 지구상에 살고 있던 모든 사람들의 사악함이 세상에 창대하였으며 그 마음의 생각과 상상이 계속해서 악할 뿐임을 보시고 하나님께서는 땅 위에 사람을 지으셨음을 후회하셨으며, 그 일이 그의 마음을 비통케 하였으므로 그들 모두를 물로 심판하셨던 것입니다. 사도 베드로는 그들에 대하여 성령 안에서 증거했습니다: “또 옛 세상을 아끼지 아니하셨으나 여덞 번째 사람인 의의 전파자 노아는 구원하시고 경건치 않은 자들의 세상에 홍수를 내리셨느니라…..그들은 전에 노아의 날에 방주를 예비하는 동안 하나님께서 오래 참고 기다리셨을 때에 순종하지 아니하였던 자들이라. 방주에서 물로 말미암아 구원을 받은 사람이 몇 명 뿐이니 곧 여덞 혼들이라.(벧후 2:5, 벧전3:20)

      뿐만 아니라, 또 다른 옛 세상 사람들에 대한 심판에 대하여 “또 소돔과 고모라 성읍들을 무너뜨리심으로 재가 되게 하셔서 후세에 경건치 않게 살 자들에게 본으로 삼으셨으며 또 사악한 자들의 음란 행실로 인하여 고통당하는 의로운 롯을 건져내셨으니 이는 그 의인이 그들 가운데서 살면서 날마다 그들의 불법적인 행동들을 보고들음으로써 그의 의로운 혼이 고통을 당하였기 때문이니라. 주께서는 어떻게 경건한 자들을 시험에서 구해 내시고 불의한 자들을 형벌에 처할 심판의 날까지 가두실 것을 아시느니라.”(벧후 2:6-8)

        하나님께서 모세를 통하여 이스라엘에게 율법을 주시기 전에는 사람들 마음 속에 있는 양심을 따라 행하는 대로 심판하신다는 사실을 사도 바울을 통해 말씀하셨습니다: “율법이 없는 이방인들이 본성으로 율법에 있는 일들을 행할 때에는 율법이 없어도 이것들이 스스로에게 율법이 되나니 그들의 양심도 증거하고 그들의 마음에 기록된 율법의 행위를 보여주느니라. 이런 일은 하나님께서 나의 복음대로 예수 그리스도를 통하여 사람들의 은밀한 것들을 심판하실 그 날에 있으리라.”(롬 2:14-16)

다시 말해서 율법이 있기 전에 살았던 모든 사람들, 다시 말해서 옛 세상에 살았던 사람들은 천년 왕국이 끝난 후 하나님의 백보좌 심판석에서 그들의 행위에 따라 심판을 받게 될 것입니다. 사도 요한은 그 광경을 성령 안에서 보고 증거했습니다:

“또 내가 큰 백보좌와 그 위에 앉으신 분을 보니 그의 면전에서 땅과 하늘이 사라졌고 그들의 설 자리도 보이지 않더라. 또 내가 죽은 자들을 보니, 작은 자나 큰 자나 하나님 앞에 서 있는데 책들이 펴져 있으며 또 다른 책도 펴져 있는데 그것은 생명의 책이라. 죽은 자들은 자기들의 행위에 따라 그 책들에 기록된 대로 심판을 받더라. 바다도 그 안에 있던 죽은 자들을 넘겨주고 또 사망과 지옥도 그들 안에 있던 죽은 자들을 넘겨주니 그들이 각자 자기들의 행위에 따라 심판을 받으며 사망과 지옥도 불못에 던져지니 이것이 둘째 사망이라. 누구든지 생명의 책에 기록되지 않은 자는 불못에 던져지더라.”(계 20:11-15) 그렇습니다. 율법 이전이나 율법 시대나 할 것 없이 양심의 행위와 율법의 행위에 따라 각자가 하나님의 심판을 받게 될 것입니다.

        그러나 현 세상에서는 다른 기준에 의해서 심판을 받게 될 것입니다. 왜냐하면, 주 예수 그리스도께서 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위해 물과 피를 흘리시고 모든 율법의 죄들을 자신의 몸에 전가받으심으로써 우리를 거스르고 모든 사람들을 거스르고 대적한 손으로 쓴 법령을 지워버리시고 또 그것을 십자가에 못박아 없애신 후로는 하나님의 심판의 기준이 바뀐 것입니다. 예수께서는 자신이 십자가에서 죽으시고 부활하신 후 성령께서 이 땅에 오실 때에 세상을 책망하시고 세상 사람들의 생각을 바로 잡으실 것에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“그러나 내가 진리를 말하노니 내가 가는 것이 너희에게 유익하니라. 만일 내가 가지 아니하면, 위로자가 너희에게 오지 아니하시리라. 그러나 내가 떠나가면 내가 그분을 너희에게 보낼 것이라. 그분이 오시면 죄에 대하여, 의에 대하여, 심판에 대하여 세상을 책망하시리라. 죄에 대하여라 함은 그들이 나를 믿지 않기 때문이요 의에 대하여라 함은 내가 아버지께로 가므로 너희가 나를 다시는 보지 못하기 때문이며, 또 심판에 대하여라 함은 이 세상의 통치자가 심판을 받기 때문이라.”(요 16:7-11)

        그러나 현 세상에 살고 있는 유대인들의 대부분은 아직도 예수님을 믿지 않는 것이 죄인지모르며 그들의 조상들은 주 예수 그리스도를 십자가에 못박아 죽였던 것입니다. 그들은 그들의 죄값으로 수천 년 동안 여전히 하나님의 진노 속에 살면서 깨닫지 못하고 있는 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 많은 이방인들 역시 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 하나님의 의의 선물인 영원한 생명을 거부하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 옛날 노아 때나 소돔과 고모라 때의 옛 세상 처럼 지금 현 세상 역시 악함 속에 있는 것입니다. 사도 베드로는 성령께서 오신 오순절 날에 유대인들을 향해 설교할 때 악한 현 세상에 대하여 증거했습니다: “회개하라. 그리고 죄들을 사함받은 것으로 인하여 너희 각자는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 침례를 받으라. 그리하면 성령의 선물을 받으리라. 이 약속은 너희와 너희 자녀에게 한 것이며, 또한 먼 곳에 있는 모든 사람에게 하신 것이라….너희는 이 사악한 세대로부터 구원을 받으라.”(행 2:38-40) 이방인들 역시 회개하고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 구원받아 이 악한 현 세상으로부터 구원받을 수 있게 된 것입니다.

      사도 바울도 악한 현 세상에 살고 있는 사람들을 향해 외쳤습니다: “주께서는 우리의 죄들로 인하여 자신을 주셨으니 이는 하나님, 곧 우리 아버지의 뜻에 따라 이 악한 현 세상에서 우리를 구원하시려 함이라… 우리를 가르치시되, 불경건과 세상 정욕들을 거부하고, 우리로 신중하며, 의롭고 경건하게 이 현 세상을 살아가게 하시며 그 복된 소망, 곧 위대하신 하나님이신 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다리게 하셨음이니 그가 우리를 위하여 자신을 주신 것은 우리를 모든 죄악에서 구속하시고 자신을 위해 정결케 하사 선한 일에 열심을 내는 독특한 백성이 되게 하려 하심이라.(갈 1:4, 딛 2:12-14)

        앞으로 휴거가 일어난 후 7년 동안 지상에 데 환란이 닥쳐오게 될 것입니다. 또한 환란 끝에 이땅에 만왕의 왕 , 만주의 주로서 재림하시는 주 예수 그리스도께서 그 용, 즉 마귀요 사탄인 옛 뱀을 잡아 끝없이 깊은 구렁 속으로 천 년 동안 가두시게 될 때(계 20:1-3) 이 악한 현 세상은 끝이 나게 될 것입니다. 주님께서는 모든 민족들을 심판하신 후 천 년 동안 자신의 왕국을 이 땅에 세우실 것입니다. 육일 동안 천지 만물을 창조하신후 일곱째 날에 쉬신 것처럼 육천 년이 지난 후 자신의 일을 마치신 주님께서는 사탄을 가두고 이 땅에서 회개한 이스라엘 백성의 남은 자들과 휴거되었다가 그분과 함께 땅에 내려온 하나님의 교회, 즉 그분의 신부와 함께 쉬시게 될 것입니다. 주님께서는 친히 오는 세상에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“누구든지 인자를 거슬러 말하는 자는 용서받을 수 있어도 누구든지 성령을 거슬러 말하는 자는 용서받을 수 없느니라. 이는 이 세상에서나 오는 세상에서도 마찬가지니라….진실로 너희에게 말하노니, 누구든지 나와 복음을 위하여 집이나, 형제나, 자매나, 아버지나, 어머니나, 아내나, 자식이나 토지를 버린 사람은 현세에서는 집이나, 형제나 자매나, 어머니나 자식이나, 토지를 일백 배로 받되 박해와 더불어 받겠으며, 또 오는 세상에서는 영생을 얻으리라. 그러나 먼저 된 많은 사람이 나중 되고 나중 된 사람들이 먼저 되리라….”(마 12:32, 막 10:29-31)

 사도 바울도 겅령 안에서 오는 세상에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“모든 정사와 권세와 능력과 다스림과 이 세상뿐만 아니라 오는 세상에서도 이름지어진 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하셨으며 또 만물을 그의 발 아래 두시고 그를 만물 위에 머리가 되게 하셔서 교회에게 주셨느니라. 교회는 그의 몸이니 만물 안에 모든 것을 채우시는 분의 충만이니라…그분께서는 우리가 말하는 바 오는 세상을 천사들의 지배에 맡기지 아니하셨으니 누군가가 어느 곳에선가 증거하여 말하기를 ‘사람이 무엇이기에 주께서 그를 생각하시며, 인자가 무엇이기에 주께서 그를 돌보시나이까? 주께서 그를 천사들 보다 조금 낮게 지으셨고 그를 영광과 존귀로 관을 씌우셨으며, 주의 손으로 하신 일들을 그에게 넘겨주셨고 만물을 그의 말 아래 복종케 하심에 있어서 그에게 복종하지 않은 것은 아무 것도 남기지 아니하셨음이라. 그러나 지금 우리는 아직 만물이 그에게 복종하는 것을 보지 못하노라….하나님의 선한 말씀과 오는 세상의 능력을 맛본 자들이 만약 떨어져 나간다면 다시 새롭게 하여 회개시킬 수 없나니, 이는 스스로 하나님의 아들을 다시 십자가에 못박아 공개적으로 조롱함이라.”(엡 1:21-23, 히 2:5-8;6:5,6)

       우리는 악한 현 세상이 곧 끝나게 되는 시대에 살고 있습니다. 그러므로 우리가 소망 가운데 바라보아야 하는 것은 오는 세상, 즉 주 예수 그리스도의 천년 왕국에서 우리가 받을 유업을 위해 일할 때인 것입니다. 사도 바울은 “우리가 참으면 우리도 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2:12)고 디모데에게 증거했으며, 로마에 있는 성도들에게도 “자녀이면 또한 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께 한 공동 상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받는 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라. 이는 현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타나게 될 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 여기기 때문이라.”(롬 8:17,18) 고 증거했습니다. 주님께서도 므나 비유를 통해서 친히 성도들이 오는 세상에서 받을 통치권에 대하여 말씀하실 때, 열 고을과 다섯 고을을 다스릴 자가 있을 것이며 통치권이 없는 자들에 대하여도 말씀하셨습니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 146:1-10

Main scripture: Job 7:1-10

Subject: The old world, the present world, and the world to come

        Job lived four thousand years ago in the world; he was suffering from incurable disease on his body. He spoke unto his friend who visited him to comfort him feeling death for the first time that shall come to pass unto all men sooner or later. He said unto him that there is an appointed time to men upon men upon earth; and they spend their life in vanity until they leave the earth; and in the midst of serious fatal disease , they are to spend their life in suffering without hope at all no more to see the goodness, but to go into the grave.

        Nowadays, there are a great number of people that are confessing as Job to leave the earth. Since sin and death and curse were brought forth to the earth because of sin of Adam, there have been so many people have been born to grieve for themselves before they gave up their breath. But God is still search the heart of men waiting for them to have knowledge of him. King David encouraged his son, Solomon saying,

 “And, thou Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee off for ever.”(2Chron. 28:9)

        The LORD God knew, Job was a perfect man as well as upright to the eyes of God at that time; and he was also one that feared God, and was away from evil as God said unto Satan (Job 1:8). At that time, there was no law of God yet given unto man; God recognized Job as a perfect and upright man, and avoiding evil according to his conscience. God has been searching the hearts of men according to the dispensation of time to know them.

        The LORD God called Noah on a day after thousand years had passed by. We don’t know how many people were dwelling on the face of the earth; only Noah was looking for the grace from the eyes of God even though the earth was full of men multiplied for thousand years since Adam as testified by the scripture (Gen. 6:8). Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation as Job, and he walked with God (Gen. 6:8). At that time, the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imaginations of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart; and he had to judge them all by the flood. Apostle Peter testified of this in the Spirit:

 “And he spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly…Which sometime were disobedient, and once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”(2Pet. 2:5, 1Pet. 3:20)

          He also testified of them that were living in the old world such as Sodom and Gomorrah:

 “`And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked. (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.)”(2Pet. 2:6-8)

        Apostle Paul testified of the Lord that will judge men according to their conscience, before he gave his law through Moses saying,

 “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another: In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”(Rom. 2:16-16)

         In other word, all men that had lived in the old world before the law of God given shall be judged at the Judgment Seat of God according to their works after the Millennium of the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle John testified of this in the Spirit:

 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened , which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”(Rev. 20:11-15) Yeah! They that had lived in the old world shall be judged according to their works of their conscience or the law of God.

          But in the present world, men shall be judged by different kind of standard, for the Lord Jesus Christ died shedding the blood and waters to take away the sin of the law transferring the sin of the law unto his body; and he blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Since then the standard of the Judgment has been changed. Jesus testified that after he died on the cross and rose again, the Holy Ghost shall reprove the world to correct the heart of man:

 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment; Of sin, because they believe no on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”(John 16:7-11)

        But in this present world, all the Jews except small number of Jewish Christian still not understand of sin, because they not believe on Jesus Christ; and their fathers crucified him unto death. They still living in the midst of the wrath of God without understanding because of their sin for thousands of years. Not only they but also other Gentiles are also rejecting the gift of righteousness of God that is eternal life. Apostle Peter preached unto the Jew on the Day of Pentecost; and he testified of the present wicked world:

 “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call….Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”(Act 2:38-40)

Not only Jews but also the Gentiles can be saved from the wicked world by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

        Apostle Paul also encouraged men living in the present evil world:

 “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world…Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purity unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”(Gal. 1:4, Titus 2: 12-14)

        There shall come to pass the great Tribulation for seven years after the Rapture of the church. And the Lord Jesus Christ will appear as the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords, and he will lay hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil to cast into the bottomless pit for thousand years(Rev. 20:1-3). Then, this present evil world shall be ended. After the Lord Jesus Christ judge all the nations of people, he will establish his kingdom on the earth for thousand years. As God rested in the seventh day after he created all things in the earth for six days, he will rest in the earth for seventh thousand years with the remnant of Israel that repent, and also with the church of God that came with him from heaven after they were raptured after he put the Devil into the pit. Jesus testified of the world to come that is the Millennium of Christ Jesus:

 “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come….Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or bretheren, or sisters, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and bretheren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecution; and in the world to come eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”(Matt. 12:32, Mark 10:29-31)

          Apostle Paul also testified of the world to come in the Spirit:

 “Far above all principality, and power and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all…..For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crowneth him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet, For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him…For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the power of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them against unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.'(Eph. 1:21-23, Heb. 2:5-8; 6:5,6)

        Now we are living in the present world to be emerged into the world to come in near future. Therefore, we are supposed to look forward the world to come in the hope of the inheritance in the Millennium kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul testified unto Timothy saying, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he will also deny us.'(2Tim. 2:12)

He also testified unto the saints in Rome, saying, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if we so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us.”(Rom. 8:17,18)

      Jesus also testified himself of the reigning power in the world to come through the parable of pound; some one shall reign ten cities, some other five cities, and some one else no reigning power. Amen! Hallelujah!
