금주의 묵상: 시편

본문: 이사야 54:1-10

제목: 우리 모두의 어머니 하늘의 새 예루살렘

       선지자 이사야는 범죄함으로 인해 남편이신 여호와 하나님께로부터 잠시 버림받은 이스라엘이 하나님의 아내로서 다시 회복될 것을 예언하고 있습니다. 다시 말해서 영적으로 과부가 된 이스라엘을 잉태하지 못한 자로, 아기를 낳지 못하는 자로, 그리고 아기로 인해 진통하지 못한 자로 묘사하고 있습니다.

      그러나 결국에는 홀로 사는 여인같은 이스라엘이 혼인한 아내가 낳은 자식보다 더 많게 될 것을 미리 예언하고 있습니다. 성경은 앞으로 하나님께서 이스라엘이 대 환란 끝에 가서 그들이 민족적으로 회개할 때(슥 12:10-14)에 예루살렘에 그들의 불결함을 씻는 샘이 열리게 되어(슥 13:1) 그들이 여호와 하나님의 아내로서 회복될 것을 예언하고 있는 것입니다. 그때 그들은 그들의 장막의 터를 넓히고 그들의 처소의 휘장을 펴게 될 것이며 그들의 줄을 길게 하고 말뚝을 견고히 하게 될 것입니다.

      또한 그들은 더 이상 수치를 당하지 않게 될 것이며 부끄러움에 처하지 않게 될 것입니다. 또한 그들의 범죄함으로 인해 남편이신 여호와 하나님으로부터 버림받아 이혼하여 과부가 되었던 치욕을 더 이상 기억하지 않게 될 것이라고 선지자 이사야는 예언하고 있습니다.

      또한 그들이 마침내 회개하게 될 때에 그들을 지으신 만군의 주 하나님이 다시 그들의 남편이 될 것이라고 예언하고 있습니다. 또한 주 하나님께서는 그들의 모든 죄들을 구속하신 주가 되실 것이며 이스라엘의 거룩한 분이시며 또한 온 땅의 하나님이라 칭함을 받게 될 것이라고 예언하고 있습니다.

        하나님께서 아브라함을 부르시고 모든 민족의 아비가 되리라고 축복하셨지만, 아브라함의 아내에게는 90세가 될 때까지 자식을 잉태하지 못했습니다. 그러나 종인 하갈에게는 즉시 아들 이스마엘을 주셨습니다. 또한 아브라함이 백 세에 낳은 약속의 자녀인 이삭에게는 에서와 야곱 두 아들만 주셨지만 종의 자식인 이스마엘에게는 열두 아들을 주셨습니다. 이 역사적인 사실은 앞으로 이삭의 아들 야곱의 자손들이 범죄함으로 인해 그들의 영적인 남편이신 하나님께로부터 잠시 버림받아 마치 아이를 낳지 못하는 괴부처럼 될 것을 미리 보여 주신 그림자로 볼 수 있는 것입니다. 그러나 이스라엘이 회개하여 회복될 때에 그 남은 자들을 통하여 천년왕국에서 그들의 수가 미치 바다의 모래처럼 많아질 것을 예언하고 있는 것입니다.

        독자 이삭을 제물로 바치려 했을 때 그의 자손 이스라엘이 마침내 받을 복에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다: “복으로 내가 네게 복을 주고, 번성으로 내가 너의 씨를 하늘의 별들처럼, 또 바닷가의 모래처럼 번성케 하리니, 네 씨가 그의 원수들의 문을 차지하리라.”(창 22:17)

하나님께서는 솔로몬 왕 때에 유다와 이스라엘 백성의 수가 많아 바닷가에 있는 많은 모래와 같았으며 그들이 먹고 마시고 즐거워했다고 성경은 말씀하고 있습니다(왕상 4:20).

      하나님께서 아브라함에게 주신 축복의 말씀은 약속의 자녀인 이삭을 통하여 태어날 자들을 두고 말씀하신 것입니다. 이삭의 자녀들은 첫째로, 이 땅에 살게 될 이스라엘 백성들을 말씀하신 것이며, 둘째로는, 이삭을 통하여 약속하신 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 유대인이나 이방인이나 차별없이 태어나게 될 수많은 하나님의 자녀들에 대한 말씀인 것입니다.

      사도 요한은 태어날 하나님의 자녀들에 대하여 “누구든지 그를 영접한 사람들에게는 하나님의 아들들이 되는 권세를 주셨으니, 즉 그의 이름을 믿는 사람들에게니라. 그들은 혈로나 육신의 뜻으로나 또한 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하였고 하나님에게서 난 자들이니라.”(요 1:12,13)고 증거했습니다.

        예수께서는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 길에 대하여 “사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라(왕국)를 볼 수 없느니라…..사람이 물과 성령으로 태어나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라(왕국)에 들어갈 수 없느니라.”(요 3:3,5)

고 말씀하심으로써 하나님께로 나서 하나님의 아들들이 된 사람들은 성령께서 친히 낳은 자라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 다시 말해서 하나님의 자녀들의 영적인 어머니는 성령님이심을 말씀하신 것입니다. 이 세상 육신의 세게에서도 아버지가 있고 어머니가 있는 것처럼 하나님 아버지께서도 그분의 자녀들을 낳으실 때에 자신의 씨이신 말씀이신 그의 독생자 아들의 씨를 통하여 잉태하게 하시고 성령님을 통하여 낳게 하시는 신비로은 진리를 알 수 있게 하셨습니다.

     선지자 이사야의 예언대로 이삭과 야곱의 자녀들인 이스라엘과 하나님의 교회 안에서 태어난 하나님의 자녀들이 종의 자녀들인 이방인들의 자녀들보다 그 수가 적은 것처럼 보일지라도 마침내 하늘들과 땅과 새 예루살렘에 영원히 살게 되는 하나님의 가족으로 온 하늘들과 땅과 새 예루살렘을 채우실 것을 예언하시고 있는 것입니다.

        사도 바울은 약속의 자녀들과 종의 자녀들에 대하여 성령 안에서 증거했습니다:

“기록되기를 ‘아브라함에게 두 아들이 있었는데 하나는 여종에게서 났고 하나는 자유로운 여자에게서 났다.’고 하였느니라. 그러나 그 여종에게서 난 아들은 육신을 따라서 났고 자유로운 여자에게서 난 아들은 약속으로 말미암아 난 것이라. 이것들은 비유니, 이들은 두 언약이라. 하나는 시내 산으로부터 종을 낳은 나니 이는 하갈이라. 하갈은 아라비아에 있는 시내 산이니 지금의 예루살렘과 같아서 그녀는 자기의 자녀들과 더불어 종 노릇하나 위에 있는 예루살렘은 자유로우니 우리 모두의 어머니라. 기록되기를 ‘너 잉태하지 못하는 여인아 즐거워하라. 너 산고를 치르지 못하는 여인아, 소리질러 외치라. 이는 홀로 사는 여인의 자녀가 남편 있는 여인의 자녀보다 더 많음이라.’고 하였으니 형제들아, 이제 우리는 이삭과 같은 약속의 자녀라. 그런데 그때에 육신을 따라 난 자가 성령을 따라 난 자를 박해하였던 것처럼 지금도 그러하도다. 그러나 성경이 무엇이라 말하느냐? ‘여종과 그녀의 아들을 내어쫓으라. 이는 여종의 아들이 자유로운 여자의 아들과 함께 상속을 받지 못할 것임이라.’고 하였느니라. 그러므로 형제들아, 우리는 여종의 자녀가 아니라 자유로운 여자의 자녀로다,”(갈 4:22-31)

       성경에서 말씀하시는 “약속의 자녀”와 종의 자녀“에 대하여는, 이삭 대(對) 이스마엘, 사라 대(對) 하갈, 시온산 대(對) 시내 산, 새 예루살렘 대(對) 지상의 예루살렘, 자유로운 여자 대(對) 여종, 약속으로 말미암아 난 자 대(對) 육신을 따라 난 자, 신약 대(對) 구약, 은혜 대(對) 율법등의 관계를 통해 분명하게 알 수 있는 것입니다.

        그러므로 사도 바울은 우리가 구원받아 위에 있는 우리들의 어머니인 세 예루살렘에 살게 되는 큰 은혜를 받은 것에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“죄들 가운데 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨으니 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이니라.) 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 천상에 함께 앉히셨으니 이는 그리스도 예수를 통하여 하나님께서 우리를 향한 그의 인자하심 가운데 그의 은혜의 지극히 풍요함을 오는 시대들에 보여주시려 함이니라. 너희가 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요, 하나님의 선물이라. 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 아무도 자랑하지 못하게 하려 하심이라.”(엡 2:5-9)

         성령으로 거듭난 성도들은 모형인 이삭의 씨로 나신 주 예수 그리스도께서 위에서 나신 사실을 믿는 것입니다. 그의 어머니는 마리아가 아니라 “새 예루살렘”인 것입니다. 위에 있는 새 예루살렘은 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 성령으로 다시 태어난 약속의 자녀들만 들어갈 수 있는 곳인 것입니다. 지상의 하나님의 교회처럼 마치 어머니가 낳은 자녀들이 한 몸을 이루고 머리 되시며 남편이신 주 예수 그리스도와 함께사는 신부들만 사는 곳이기에 우리 모두의 어머니라고 부를 수 있는 것입니다.

        그렇습니다! 예수께서 사마리아 여인에게 “여인아, 나를 믿으라. 너희가 이 산에서나 예루살렘에서도 아버지께 경배하지 않을 그 때가 오리라. 너희는 너희가 알지 못하는 것을 경배하고, 우리는 우리가 경배하는 것을 나노니 이는 구원이 유대인에게서 나오기 때문이라. 그러나 참된 경베자들은 영과 진리로 경배드릴 때가 오나니 바로 지금이라. 이는 아버지께서 자기에게 경배드리는 그런 자들을 찾으심이니라. 하나님은 한 영이시니 그분께 경배드리는 자들은 영과 진리로 경배드려야만 하리라.”(요 4:21-24) 고 말씀하심으로써 약속의 씨인 이삭의 씨인 유대인으로 나신 자신을 믿는 것이 하나님의 자녀로서 아버지께 경배할 수 있는 유일한 길인 것을 말씀하신 것입니다.

          그러므로, 이 세상에 어떤 환경 가운데 태어났든지, 어떤 불행을 겪고 있든지, 또는 부모의 사랑을 받고 있는지 아니든지 관계없이 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 창조주 하나님이 새 아버지가 되셨고 하늘의 새 예루살렘이 영원한 어머니의 품이 되었고 주 예수 그리스도께서는 영원한 남편이 되신 것입니다. 비록 이 땅에서는 남편의 사랑을 받지 못했을지라도 가장 멋진 신랑이신 주 예수 그리스도를 신랑으로 모시고 살게 된 축복을 주셨으니 옛날 다윗왕처럼 우리는 항상 기뻐하고 쉬지말고 기도하면서 주님의 이름을 송축하며 모든 일을 합력하여 선을 이루시는 주님께 감사와 찬송을 드리면서 주님의 뜻만이 이루어지기를 바라는 성도들이 되어야 하는 것입니다.

        또한 우리는 우리를 낳아주신 육신의 어머니와 아버지께도 감사하며 순종해야 하는 것은 그들을 통하여 세상에 태어나서 하나님의 자녀가 되는 축복을 받았기 때문입니다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 부모에게 순종하는 자의 축복에 대하여 증거했습니다:

 “자녀들아 주 안에서 너희 부모에게 순종하라. 이것이 옳으니라. 네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라. (이것이 약속있는 첫째 계명이니) 이는 네가 잘되고 또 땅에서 장수하게 하려 함이니라.” (엡 6:1-3) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 133:1-3

Main scripture: Isaiah 54: 1-10

Subject: New Jerusalem in heaven the mother of us all

        Prophet Isaiah prophesied of Israel that was forsaken by the LORD God, their husband because of their sin, but to be restored as his wife again in the future. In other word, he describes Israel as a spiritual widow that cannot conceive child not to be travailing with child.

        But after all, Israel as the desolated shall have more children than the married wife, prophesied by him. When the whole nation of Israel repent their sin at the end of the Great Tribulation (Zech. 12:10-14), a fountain shall be opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness (Zech. 13:1). Then Israel shall be restored as the wife of the LORD God again. Then, they shall enlarge the place of their tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of their inhabitations.; and lengthen their cords, and strengthen their stakes.

          And they shall not be ashamed; neither be they confounded. And they shall forget the shame of their youth when they were forsaken by their husband, the LORD God to be widow because of their sin against God.

          Prophet Isaiah prophesies of them to be received by their husband, the LORD God again, when they repent their sin. And their Maker, the LORD God shall be their Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; And the God of a whole earth shall he be called

        The LORD God called Abram to bless him to be father of all nations; but his wife Sarah not conceived any child until she was 90 years old. But Hagar, her servant was given a child, Ishmael. God gave Isaac only two sons, Esau and Jacob, but unto Ishmael the son of the servant twelve sons. Through this historical thing, God has shown a shadow that the children of Israel are to be forsaken by God, their husband because their sin for the time being as a widow not bearing child. But, when they repent to be restored, they shall be as the sands of sea in number, and dwell in the Millennium kingdom of Jesus Christ.

        When Abraham was about to submit his only son, Isaac as a burnt offering unto God, he spoke unto him of the blessing of Israel, his children saying,

“That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.”

At the time of king Solomon, Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry (1King 4:20).

        Apostle John testified of the children of God to be born:

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”(John 1:12,13)

       Jesus also testified of the way to be the children of God saying, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom”(John 3:3,5)

He means to be born again in the Holy Ghost to be children of God. In other word, the spiritual mother of the children of God is the Holy Ghost. As there are father and mother in this physical world, a mysterious truth is revealed of the children of God; God the Father gives birth to his children through the seed of the word, that is his only begotten Son to be conceived, and let them be born through the Holy Ghost as the mother.

        As the prophesy of Isaiah, even though the number of Israel, the children of Isaac and Jacob and the children of God born in the church of God seems to be less than the children of the Gentiles, the children of the servant, finally, the family of God shall be full in heavens and earth and the New Jerusalem.

        Apostle Paul testified of the children of promise and the children of the servant:

“For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.”(Gal.4:22-31)

           Of the two kinds of children, “children of promise” and “children of the servant” we can understand taking examples such as “Isaac vs Ishmael”, “Sarah vs Hagar:, “Mount Zion vs Mount Sinai”, “Free woman vs servant woman”, “Child born by promise vs child born after the flesh”, “The New Testament vs the Old testament”, “Grace vs law”.

        Therefore, Apostle Paul testified of the grace for us that we shall dwell in the New Jerusalem in heaven, the mother of us all:

 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.”(Eph. 2:5-9)

        Born again Christian of the Holy Ghost are they that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who was born as the seed of Isaac that is the model of Jesus. His mother is not Mary, but the New Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem above is the place for them, the children of promise that are born again of the Holy Ghost through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. As the church of God in earth, the New Jerusalem is the place where only the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ, the head and husband, as one mother’s children. This is the reason why we can call the New Jerusalem as our mother.

        Yeah! As Jesus spoke unto the woman in Samaria saying, “Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”(John 4:21-24),

to worship the Father God as his children is to believe on Jesus who is born as the Jew in the seed of Isaac of promise of God.

        Therefore, it doesn’t matter whether in what a miserable situation born in this world or what kind of troubles we may face with now, or whether we are loved by our parents; because we have our new Father in heaven, and the New Jerusalem as our new mother, and the Lord Jesus Christ as our eternal new husband as well. Even though we have never been loved by our earthly husbands, now we are blessed to have our Lord Jesus Christ as the wonderful husband; this is the reason why we rejoice always as King David, and pray without ceasing, and bless the name of the Lord Jesus, and praise the Lord in every thing believing all things work together for good, and which the will of God to be done for his glory.

        Not only this, we also obey our earthly father and mother giving thanks because they opened the door to be born in this word to be blessed to be the children of God. Apostle Paul testified of the blessing for the children that obey their parents:

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”(Eph. 6:1-3) Amen! Hallelujah!
