금주의 묵상: 시편 1:1-6

본문: 출애굽기 20:1-21

제목: 하나님의 자녀들을 죄악 세상으로부터 지켜주시는 십계명

         하나님께서는 자신이 택하신 민족 이스라엘 백성들에게 모세를 통하여 십계명을 주셨습니다. 이 십계명은 모든 율법의 강령으로서 모든 율법과 계명들과 규례들과 명령들을 대표하는 계명인 것입니다. 하나님께서는 육신적인 자연인들인 이스라엘 백성들이 지킬 수 없는 계명을 주심으로써 그들이 하나님 앞에 죄를 지을 수밖에 없는 것을 깨닫게 하시려 했던 것입니다. 사도 바울은 “모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못한다.”(롬 3:23)고 증거했습니다.

         유대인으로서 죄인임을 깨닫고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로써 성령으로 다시 태어난 사도 바울은 율법에 대하여 이렇게 증거했습니다:

“그런즉 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요? 율법이 죄냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 율법에 의하지 아니하고는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니 곧 율법이 ‘너는 탐내지 말지니라.’ 하지 아니하였더라면 내가 정욕을 알지 못하였으리라. 그러나 죄가 계명을 통하여 기회를 잡아 내 안에서 온갖 색욕을 일으켰느니라. 이는 율법이 없으면 죄는 죽은 것임이라. 내가 전에는 울법 없이 살았으나 계명이 오자 죄는 살아나고 나는 죽었느니라. 생명에 이르게 하는 그 계명이 도리어 나를 사망에 이르게 하는 것으로 판명되었도다. 죄가 계명을 통하여 기회를 잡아 나를 속이고 또 그것으로 나를 죽였느니라. 그러므로 율법도 거룩하고 의로우며 선하도다. 그러면 선한 것이 나에게 사망이 되었느냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 다만 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위해 선한 그것으로 인하여 나에게 사망을 이루었으니 이는 계명에 의한 죄가 심히 죄 많게 하려는 것이라. 우리는 율법이 영적인 것으로 알고 있노라. 그러나 나는 육신적이어서 죄 아래 팔렸도다. 내가 행하는 것을 내가 알지 못하노니 이는 내가 원하는 것은 행하지 아니하고 오히려 내가 미워하는 것을 행함이라. 그러므로 만일 내가 원치 않는 것을 행하면 내가 율법이 선하다는 것에 동의하노라. 그러나 이제는 그것을 행하는 것은 더 이상 내가 아니요 내 속에 거하는 죄니라.”(롬 7:7-17)

           그렇습니다! 사도 바울은 율법을 통하여 자신 안에 죄가 거한다는 것을 깨달았던 것입니다. 또한 자신 안에 거하는 죄로 인하여 죄를 지을 수밖에 없는 죄인이라는 사실을 깨달았던 것입니다. 모든 죄인들은 사랑이신 하나님을 사랑할 수 없는 것입니다. 성령을 통하여 하나님의 사랑을 받은 사람, 즉 영적인 사람만이 하나님을 사랑할 수 있는 것입니다. 모세를 통하여 주신 십계명이 대부분 어떤 일들을 하지 말라는 명령들이지만 다른 말로 표현한다면 첫째는 하나님을 온 마음으로 사랑하라는 것이며, 둘째는 이웃을 자신의 몸같이 사랑하라는 것입니다. 속에 죄로 가득찬 죄인들이 어떻게 하나님을 사랑할 수 있으며 이웃을 자신의 몸같이 사랑할 수 있겠습니까?

             사도 바울은 로마에 있는 성도들에게 율법 안에 들어있는 이웃을 향한 사랑에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“서로 사랑하라는 것 외에는 아무에게도 어떤 빚도 지지 말라. 다른 사람을 사랑하는 사람은 율법을 이룬 것이니라. 이는 이것, 즉 ‘너는 간음하지 말지니라. 너는 살인하지 말지니라. 너는 거짓 증거하지 말지니라. 너는 탐내지 말지니라.’ 한 것과 그 외에 다른 계명이 있을지라도 이 말씀으로 모두 요약될 수 있음이니, 즉 ‘너는 네 이웃을 네 자신과 같이 사랑하라.’ 것이라. 사랑은 자기 이웃에게 악을 행치 아니하느니라. 그러므로 사랑은 율법의 완성이니라.”(롬 13:8-10)

           십계명을 주셨던 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 세상에 오셨을 때, 자신들이 율법을 지키는 자들이라고 주장하면서 유대인들을 가르치는 선생 노릇을 하는 바리새인들과 서기관들에게 그들의 잘못된 생각을 책망하시기 위하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“너희는 옛 사람에게서 ‘너는 간음하지 말지니라.’ 고 한 말씀을 들었으나 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 음욕을 품고 여자를 바라보는 자는 누구나 그의 마음에 그녀와 더불어 이미 간음하였느니라. 또 만일 너의 오른쪽 눈이 너로 실족케 하거든 빼어 던져 버리라. 네 지체 가운데 하나가 손상되는 것이 네 온몸이 지옥에 던져지는 것보다 나으니라. 또 만일 네 오른손이 너로 실족케 하거든 잘라 버리라. 네 지체 가운데 하나가 손상되는 것이 네 온몸이 지옥에 던져지는 것보다 나으니라.”(마 5:27-30)

                 그들은 자신들 마음 속 안에 박혀 있는 죄들을 알지 못하고 위선으로 행하면서 사람들에게 의롭게 보이려고 하는 종교인들이었던 것입니다. 에수께서는 그들에게 다신 한 번 아주 구체적으로 그들 안에 있는 죄들이 어떤 것인지, 또한 그 죄들로 인해 율법을 범하는 죄들을 지을 수밖에 없다는 것을 깨우쳐 주시려고 말씀하셨습니다:

“사람에게서 나오는 것이 그 사람을 더럽히느니라. 이는 속에서, 즉 사람의 마음에서 나오는 것은 악한 생각과 간음과 음행과 살인과 방탕과 악한 눈과 하나님을 모독함과 교만과 어리석음이기 때문이니, 이런 모든 악한 것은 속에서 나와, 그 사람을 더럽히느니라.”(막 7:19-23)

               그렇습니다! 계명을 지키기 위해서는 속에 들어있는 모든 죄들을 제거하지 않으면 안되는 것입니다. 아담이 지은 죄로 인하여 이 세상에 태어나는 모든 사람 속, 즉 유전인자(DNA) 속에 누구나 차별 없이 예수께서 말씀하신 죄들을 가지 고 태어나는 것입니다. 그러나 율법을 받은 유대인 대부분은 아직도 여전히 이 사실을 깨닫지 못하고 있으며 대부분의 이 세상 종교인들도 깨닫지 못하고 있는 것입니다. 심지어는 교회에 다니고 있는 그리스도인이라고 자처하는 사람들 마져도 이 사실을 깨닫지 못하고 있는 것을 봅니다.

                 침례인 요한이 예수님을 처음으로 유대인들에게 소개할 때, “보라, 세상 죄를 제거하는 하나님의 어린 양이라.” 증거했습니다. 또한 사람의 마음 속에 들어있는 죄들을 제거하는 것에 대하여 사도 바울은 히브리인들에게, “황소와 염소의 피와 암송아지의 재도 불결한 자에게 뿌려 그 육체를 정결케 함으로써 거룩하게 한다면, 하물며 영원하신 성령을 통하여 흠 없는 자신을 하나님께 드린 그리스도의 피가 어찌 죽은 행실에서 너희 양심을 정결케 하여 살아 계신 하나님을 섬기게 하지 못하겠느냐? 이런 연유로 그는 새 언약의 중보자시니, 이는 첫 언약 때에 범죄한 것들을 구속하시려고 죽으심으로써 부르심을 받은 자들로 그 영원한 유업의 약속을 받게 하시려는 것이라.”(히 9:12-15)고 증거했습니다.

                 그는 예수 그리스도의 피가 믿는 사람들 마음 속에 있는 죄들을 씻어 제거함으로써 정결케 하여 성령을 주신다는 진리를 증거한 것입니다. 또한 성령을 통하여 주시는 하나님의 사랑을 받은 자만이 하나님을 사랑할 수 있으며 이웃을 자신처럼 사랑할 수 있는 것입니다. 이로 인하여 사도 바울은 고린도 교회 성도들에게 편지할 때 사랑이 없으면 아무 것도 아니라고 증거한 것입니다.

                   옛 사람 다윗왕이 간음죄와 살인죄를 지음으로써 비로소 자신이 “죄악 중에서 조성되었고 죄 중에서 네 어머니가 나를 배었나이다.”(시 51:5) 라고 고백한 것처럼, 율법을 통하여 자신 안에 들어있는 죄들을 깨닫게 하시기 위하여 십계명과 모든 율법들을 주신 것입니다. 그러나 유대인들은 여전히 율법을 지키지 않다가 수없이 죽음을 당하고 징계를 받아오면서도 여전히 그들 대부분이 율법으로 의롭게 되는 것을 믿으며 주 예수 그리스도의 피를 믿지 않고 있는 것을 봅니다. 그러므로 그리스도의 복음은 첫째로 유대인에게 전해야 하는 것입니다(롬 1:16).

                 그러므로 하나님께서는 율법을 주심으로써 모든 사람을 죄아래 가두심으로써 자신들이 죄인임을 깨닫게 하시기를 원하셨던 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그러면 어찌하여 율법을 섬기느냐? 그것은 범법함 때문에 더해진 것이니, 약속받은 그 씨가 오실 때까지라. 그것은 한 중보자의 손에서 천사들을 통하여 제정된 것이라. 이제 중보자는 한 편만의 중보자가 아니니라. 그러나 하나님께서는 한 분이시니라. 그렇다면 율법이 하나님의 약속을 거스르는 것이냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 만일 율법이 생명을 부여할 수 있는 것으로 주어진 것이라면 진실로 의도 율법에 의하여 되었을 것이라. 그러나 성경은 모든 것이 죄 아래 있다고 단정하였으니 이는 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는 약속을 믿는 사람들에게 주려는 것이라. 그러나 믿음이 오기 전에 우리는 율법 아래서 지시를 받았으며 나중에 믿음이 계시될 때까지 갿혀 있었느니라. 그리하여 율법이 우리를 그리스도에게로 인도하는 지도교사가 되었으니 이는 우리를 믿음으로 의롭게 하려 함이라. 믿음이 온 후로 우리는 더 이상 지도교사 아래 있지 아니하도다.”(갈 3:19-25)

                 그러므로 주 예수 그리스도께서는 자신을 믿는 모든 사람들로 하여금 율법으로부터 자유케 하시려고 우리를 거스르고 우리를 대적한 손으로 쓴 법령을 지워버리고 그것을 십자가에 못박아 없애셨던 것입니다(골 2:14). 그러므로 성령을 통하여 다시 태어난 사람은 하나님께서 주시는 사랑을 통하여 율법으로부터 자유하게 되어 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑할 수 있게 된 것입니다. 우리 옛 사람은 그리스도와 함께 이미 죽었버렸고 이제는 그리스도께서 안에 사심으로 인하여 그리스도와 한 몸이 된 것입니다.

               그러나, 우리는 여전히 죄의 몸 안에 살고 있다는 사실을 잊어서는 안되는 것입니다. 그리스도를 믿음으로 성령으로 다시 태어나기 전에는 마음 속에 있는 죄들과 죄의 몸인 육신 안에 있는 죄들로 인해 죄를 범할 수밖에 없었습니다. 그러나 이제는 우리 마음 속에 있는 죄들은 이미 주 예수 그리스도의 피로 씻겨서 제거되었읍니다. 그러나 우리는 여전히 우리 몸 안에 있는 죄로 인해 죄를 지을 수 있는 것입니다. 사도 바울이 율법이 선하다고 증거한 것처럼, 이전에 우리를 죽였던 십계명이 이제는 우리를 지켜주는 법이 된 것입니다. 구원받기 전에 우리 안에 자리잡고 있었던 죄들이 제거된 곳에 이제는 십계명을 간직하며 살게 될 때에 성령께서는 우리의 죄의 몸이 죄를 짓지 않도록 지켜주시는 것입니다. 죄악 세상에 살고 있는 우리를 십계명을 통하여 우리를 안전하게 지켜주시는 것입니다.

             다윗왕은 “주의 말씀을 내 마음에 간직하였으니 이는 내가 범죄치 아니하려 함이니이다.”(시 119:11)라고 고백했던 것입니다. 우리가 십계명을 항상 기억하면서 죄악 세상으로부터 보호받을 뿐 아니라 이제는 진리이신 하나님의 모든 말씀들을 마음 속에 간직하며 살아갈 때에 죄로부터 안전하게 살 뿐만 아니라 말씀으로 거룩하게 되는 삶을 살 수 있는 것입니다. 말씀으로 거룩하게 된 사람은 이제는 한 걸음 더 나아가서 생명과 평안 가운데 살 수 있는 것입니다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 “육신적으로 생각하는 것은 사망이나 영적으로 생각하는 것은 생명과 평안이니라.”(롬 8:6)고 증거했습니다.

             그러므로 하나님의 교회를 향한 그분의 뜻은 그리스도의 신부로서 조만간 그분께서 공중에 나타나실 때 그분 앞에 영광스러운 교회로 나타나서 점이나 주름진 것이나 또는 그러한 것들이 없이 거룩하고 흠없게 하시려는 것입니다. 그 뜻을 따라 그분께서 우리를 말씀에 의한 물로 씻어 거룩하고 깨끗하게 하시도록 하나님의 말씀으로 거룩하게 되는 일에 게을리해서는 안 될 것입니다(엡 5:26,27). 뿐만 아니라 항상 견고하고 흔들리지 않고 항상 주의 일을 넘치게 함으로써 주 안에서 헛되지 않는 삶을 살므로써 주님께서 오실 때 부끄럽지 않고 영광스러운 만남이 되도록 힘써야 하는 것입니다(고전 15:8). 조만간 그리스도께서 공중에 나타나실 때 우리는 아담으로부터 물려받은 죄의 몸을 벗어버리고 영화로운 몸, 즉 죄도 없고 죽지도 않고 썩지도 않는 몸을 입게 될 것입니다. 이때에 우리의 온 영과 혼과 몸이 책망할 것이 없는 온전한 구원을 이루게 되는 것입니다(살전 5:23). 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 1:1-6

Subject: Ten Commandments to protect the children of God

                The LORD God gave the Ten Commandments unto his chosen people of Israel through Moses. Ten Commandments is the general principles of law and statutes and commandments and judgments. Giving the commandments unto them that are canal as well natural men, God wanted them to understand that they couldn’t help sinning before God. Apostle Paul testified, “For all heave sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”(Rom. 3:23)

             As a Jew, Apostle Paul understood himself a sinner from the birth, and he was born again of the Holy Ghost through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. He testified of the law of God:

“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.”(Rom. 7:7-17)

            Yeah! Apostle Paul understood of the sin within him through the law. He also understood, he couldn’t help sinning because of the sin within him. All sinners cannot love God. Only they that received the love of God through the Holy Ghost can love God, for they are spiritual men. Most of the Ten Commandments given through Moses are commanding not to do something. But in other word, those are to love God in all heart firstly, and to love neighbor as they love themselves secondly. How can sinners full of sins within them love God, and love their neighbors?

                Apostle Paul testified of the love toward neighbor in the law unto the saints in Rome:

 “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he

that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”(Rom. 13:8-10)

                   The Lord God that gave the Ten Commandments came to the world in the name of Jesus; he spoke unto Pharisees and Scribes to rebuke them, for they became the teachers of the law disguising themselves as the righteous men without any mistake to live according to the law.

 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”(Matt. 5:27-30)

                They couldn’t see the sins rooted within them, and they were the religious leaders acting as the hypocrites to show themselves as the righteous. Jesus spoke unto them again to show them what kinds of sins within them, and have them understand that they cannot sinning against the law because of the sins within them:

 “Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”(Mark 7:19-23)

                 Yeah! To keep the law, all sins within them should be taken away. Because of the sin that was committed by Adam, all men are born in the world with the sins in their DNA. But almost all of the Jews that received the law not understand yet, neither almost all of religious men do. Even many of so called Christians not understand this either.

           John the Baptist introduced Jesus unto the Jew saying, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”(John 1:29)

Apostle Paul testified of taking away the sins within men unto the Hebrews:

 “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”((Heb. 9:12-15)

               He testified of the truth that the blood of Jesus Christ purify the sins within the heart of man to take away them to give him the Holy Ghost. He also testified, only they that received the love of God through the Holy Ghost can love God as well as their neighbors as themselves. This is because that he said unto the Corinthians, nothing without the charity that is the love of God.

                     King David confessed himself as a miserable sinner after he committed adultery and murder saying,

“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”(Ps. 51:5)

God gave the Ten Commandments and all the laws for men understand of the sins within them. But the People of Israel have failed to keep the laws of God so that they have been chastened to death; but they are still believe themselves to be righteous through the laws not believing in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the gospel of Christ for the Jew first (Rom. 1:16).

                       Therefore, the LORD God gave his law to confine all men under sins. Apostle Paul testified of this:

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”(Gal. 3:19-25)

               Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ blotted out the handwriting the ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross to be free from all of them that believe in him (Col. 2:14). Therefore, all of them that are born again of the Holy Ghost are freed from the law through the love of God, and they are able to love God as well as their neighbors. They became one body with Christ through Christ dwelling within them.

                But, we are not to forget that we are still dwelling in our sinful body yet. Before we were born again of the Holy Ghost through believing in Christ Jesus, we couldn’t help sinning because of the sins within us. Now all sins within our heart are taken away cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, but we still could sin because of the sins within our body. As Apostle Paul testified of the law that is good, the Ten Commandments that killed us now became the law that keep us from sinning. In the place in our heart where were our sins before we were saved, now we replenish the Ten Commandments so that the commandments will keep us from sinning to protect us under safety from the sinful world.

                  King David confessed saying, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”(Ps 119:10)

We are protect from the evil world remembering Ten Commandments; and even more, we are not only living in safety being away from sins, but also we are to be sanctified through keeping all the words of God in our heart. And they that are sanctified through the words of the truth are able to live in life and peace. Apostle Paul testified of the life in life and peace:

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”(Rom. 8:6)

                 Therefore, the will of God toward his church is to make her as the bride of Christ appear the glorious church without dot and wrinkle, or any such thing: but that she should be holy and without blemish when Christ appear in the air. According to his will, we are not supposed be lazy to be sanctified and to be cleansed with the washing of water by the word of God(Eph. 5:26,27). In addition, we have to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (1Cor. 15:56) not anything to be in vain so that we may meet the Lord gloriously. When Christ appear sooner or later, we shall put off the body of sin that is inherited from Adam to be clothed with the glorious body without any sin that is immortal and incorruptible. Then, all our spirit and soul and body shall be blemish unto the perfect salvation. Amen! Hallelujah!
