금주의 묵상: 시편 122:1-9

본문: 이사야 43:1-7

제목: 하나님께서 택하신 이스라엘과 그의 교회를 위한 영원한 구속

             본문 말씀은 하나님께서 선지자 이사야를 통하여 자신이 창조하시고 조성하신 이스라엘을 향하여 하신 말씀입니다. 하나님 자신이 그들을 구속하였고 지명하여 불렀으며 그들은 하나님의 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.

           그러나 하나님께서는 자신이 택하신 이스라엘 백성들이 그분께 범죄하여 온갖 고난을 당하게 될 것을 아시고 미리 말씀하셨습니다:

“네가 물들을 통과할 때도 내가 너와 함께 있을 것이며, 네가 강들을 통과할 때에도 물이 너희를 덮치지 못할 것이라. 네가 불 속을 통과해서 걸을 때에도 타지 않을 것이며, 불꽃이 네 뒤에서 타지 못할 것이라.”(사 43:2)

           이렇게 그들이 앞으로 당하게 될 모든 고난으로부터 구해 냄을 받는 것은 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님께서 친히 그들의 구주이시기 때문에 그들을 위한 몸값으로 이집트와 에디오피아와 스바를 대신 주셨다고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서 그들에게 이처럼 큰 은혜를 주신 이유에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다”너는 내 눈에 진귀하였고 존귀하였기에 내가 너를 사랑하였노라. 그러므로 내가 너를 위하여 사람들을 주고 네 생명을 위하여 백성들을 주리라.”(사 43:4)

             이로 인하여 하나님께서는 그들에게 두려워말라고 말씀하시고 그들의 주하나님께서 그들과 함께 하실 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 또한 먼 훗날에 온 땅에 흩어진 그들을 하나님의 강권하심을 통해 그들을 다시 그들에게 약속하신 땅으로 데려오실 것이라고 분명하게 말씀하셨습니다: “내가 네씨를 동쪽으로부터 데려오고 서쪽으로부터 너를 모을 것이며, 내가 북쪽을 향하여 말하기를 ‘포기하라.’ 할 것이며, 남쪽을 향하여 말하기를 ‘감금하지 말라.’ 하리라. 내 아들들을 먼 곳으로부터 , 내 딸들을 땅 끝들로부터 데려오라. 곧 내 이름으로 불리는 자는 모두 다 데려오라. 이는 내가 내 영광을 위하여 그를 창조하였고, 내가 그를 조성하였나니 정녕, 내가 그를 지었음이라.”(사 43:5-7)

           하나님께서는 그들에게 아렇게 말씀하시는 이유에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“너희는 이전 일들을 기억하지 말며, 옛날 일들을 생각하지 말라. 보라, 내가 새 일을 행하리니이제 나타나리라.너희가 그 일을 알지 못하겠느냐? 내가 정녕 광야에 길을, 사막에 강들을 내리라. 들의 짐승이 나를 존경할 것이요, 용들과 올빼미들도 그러하리라. 이는 내가 광야에 물들을, 사막에 강들을 주어 나의 백성, 나의 택한 자로 마시게 할 것임이라. 이 백성은 내가 나를 위하여 조성하였나니 그들이 나의 찬양을 나타내 보이리라.”(사 43:18-21)

               아렇게 하나님의 선택하심을 따라 앞으로 하나님께서 새 일을 행하실 때에 그들이 받을 영광을 선지자 이사야를 통하여 보여주셨지만 앞으로 그들이 하나님께서 주신 은혜를 잊어버리게 될 것이라고 미리 말씀하셨습니다: “그러나, 오 야곱아, 너는 나를 부르지 아니하였으며, 오 이스라엘아, 너는 내게 싫증을 내었도다. 너는 네 번제물로 작은 송아지도 내게 가져오지 않았고, 네 희생물들로 나를 존경하지도 않았도다.나는 제물과 더불어 너를 수고하게도 아니하였고, 향과 더불어 너를 괴롭히지도 않았도다. 너는 나를 위하여 돈으로 향품도 사지 아니하였고, 네 희생제의 기름으로 나를 흡족하게도 아니하였으나 오히려 너는 네 죄들로 나를 수고롭게 하고 , 네 죄악들로 나를 괴롭게 하였도다. 나, 곧 나는 나 자신을 위하여 네 허물들을 없애는 이니 네 죄들을 기억하지 아니하리라. 나를 기억하라. 함께 반론하여 네가 정당하다는 것을 주장하라. 네 처음 조상이 죄를 지었고, 네 선생들이 나를 거역하여 범죄하였도다. 그러므로 내가 성소의 고난들을 욕되게 하였으며,야곱에게 저주를 주었고, 이스라엘에게 비방거리를 주었도다.”(사 43:22-28)

               하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들이 그들의 하나님이시며 왕이신 주 예수 그리스도를 믿지 않고 죽인 것을 회개하지 않고 있지만, 그들의 허물들을 없애시고 그들의 죄들을 기억하지 않겠다고 하셨습니다. 그 이유에 대하여 하나님께서 그들을 택한 민족으로 창조하시고 친히 조성하셨으며 그들을 구속하셨기 때문이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 다시 말해서 그들이 지은 죄값을 대신 치르시기 위하여 몸값(ransom)으로 이집트와 에디오피아와 스바, 즉 이방나라들을 주셨다고 말씀하신 것입니다.

               하나님께서는 이브라함을 부르시고 그의 손자인 아곱에게 새 이름, 이스라엘을 주시고 그의 열두 아들들의 자손들을 자신이 친히 택하신 것입니다. 또한 그들이 지킬 수 없는 율법을 주셨고 그들은 아담으로부터 받은 죄를 가지고 태어나서 선을 행할 수 없는 것을 미리 아시고 그들을 괴롭힌 이방 나라들을 그들을 위한 희생제물들로 삼으신 것입니다.

             또한 하나님께서는 아브라함의 씨로 태어나신 하나님의 독생자이신 주 예수 그리스도 안에서 자신의 자녀들을 선택하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 죄인으로 태어나서 범죄한 모든 사람들을 위하여 자신의 독생자를 몸값으로 주셔서 그들의 모든 죄들을 구속, 즉 대신 치르게 하신 것입니다. 그러나 하나님의 자녀들 역시 이스라엘 백성들처럼 자녀가 된 후에도 여전히 죄를 지을 수밖에 없는 것입니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 아들 예수 그리스도가 치르신 구속, 즉 죄사함을 인정하시고 그들 모두를 의롭다 하시며 그들의 죄들을 기억하지 않으시는것입니다. 이방나라들을 몸값으로 받으시고 이스라엘의 죄들을 기억하지 않으시는 것처럼 하나님의 자녀들의 죄들도 자신의 아들을 죄인들을 위한 몸값으로 주심으로써 기억하지 않으시는 것입니다.

               옛날 극심한 고난 중에 있었던 욥은 앞으로 자신의 죄들을 대신 당담하고 죽으실 주 예수 그리스도를 하나님께서 몸값으로 주실 것에 대하여 미리 증거했습니다:

“그때 그분께서 그 사람에게 은혜로우셔서 말씀하시기를 ‘구렁으로 내려가는 그를 구해 주라. 내가 몸값을 얻었다.’ 하시리라.”(욥 33:24)

                 하나님께서는 이방 나라들을 이스라엘을 위한 몸값으로 주셨기 때문에 그들이 지은 죄들로 인하여 물들을 통과하고 강들을 통과할 때에도 물들이 그들을 덮치지 못할 것이며, 그들이 불속을 통과해서 걸을 때에도 타지 않을 것이며, 불꽃이 그들 위에서 타지 못할 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 자신이 택한 민족들에게 이렇게 큰 은혜를 주신 하나님께서는 주 예수 그리스도를 그들의 죄들을 구속하신 구세주로 믿어 그리스도 안에서 자신의 자녀들로 택하신 자녀들에게는 그들이 유대인이든지 이방인이든지 차별 없이 한량없는 큰 은혜를 주신 것입니다.

               사도 바울은 이 은헤에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“허물과 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 너희를 그가 살리셨으니, 전에는 너희가 그것들 가운데서 이 세상의 풍조를 따르고 공중 권세의 통치자, 곧 지금 불순종의 자녀들 안에서 역사하는 영을 따라 행하였으니 그들 가운데서 우리 모두가 이번에는 육신의 마음과 욕망들을 이루어 다른 자들과 마찬가지로 본래 진노의 자녀였느니라. 그러나 자비가

풍성하신 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하신 그의 큰 사랑으로 인하여 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨으니 너희가 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이라. 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 천상에 함께 앉히셨으니 이는 그리스도 예수를 통하여 하나님께서 우리를 향한 그의 인자하심 가운데 그의 은혜의 지극히 풍요함을 모든 시대들에 보여주시려 하심이라. 너희가 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요, 하나님의 선물이라. 행위에서 난 것이 아니니 아무도 자랑하지 못하게 하려 하심이라. 우리는 그분의 작품이니 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일들을 위하여 창조되었느니라. 이 일들은 하나님께서 미리 정하시어 우리로 그것들 가운데 행하게 하신 것이라.”(엡 2;1-10)

             그렇습니다! 하나님께서 이방나라들을 그들의 몸값으로 삼아 그들을 구속하셔서 그들을 창조하시고 조성하신 것처럼 하나님께서 자신의 독생자 예수 그리스도를 우리를 위한 몸값으로 주셔서 우리의 모든 죄들을 대신 치러주심으로써 우리의 구속주가 되게 하신 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님의 자녀들 역시 하나님께서 새롭게 창조하시고 조성하신 것입니다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울이 증거했습니다: “그러므로 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라. 옛 것들은 지나갔으니, 보라, 모든 것이 새롭게 되었도다. 모든 것의 하나님께로부터 났으며 그분께서는 예수 그리스도를 통하여 스스로 우리와 화해하셨고 화해의 직분을 우리에게 주셨으니 즉 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계셔서 세상을 자신과 화해하게 하시며 그들의 죄과를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 우리에게 화해의 말씀을 주신 것이라.”(고후 5:17-19)

             그렇습니다! 하나님께서 한 번 자신의 백성으로 택하신 이스라엘을 영원히 버리지 아니하시고 그들에게 오래 참으심으로 마침내 그들에게 약속하신 왕국을 주시는 것처럼 하나님의 자녀들 역시 그들에게 성령을 주셔서 그들이 몸의 구속을 받는 날, 즉 그리스도의 날에 몸이 부활하는 날까지 인을 치신 것입니다(엡 1:13). 사도 바을은 하나님의 자녀들에게 주신 구원에 대한 영원한 보장에 대하여 증거했습니다: “자기 아들을 아끼지 아니하시고 우리 모든 사람을 위하여 내어주신 분이 어찌 그 아들과 함께 또한 모든 것을 우리에게 주시지 아니하겠느냐? 하나님께서 택하신 자들에게 누가 혐의를 씌우리요? 의롭다 하시는 분은 하나님이시니라. 누가 정죄하리요? 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 분은 그리스도시라. 그분은 또한 하나님의 오른편에 계셔서 우리를 위하여 중보하시느니라. 누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 떼어놓을 수 있으리요? 환난이나 곤경이나 박해나 기근이나 헐벗음이나 위험이나 칼이랴? 기록된 바와 같으니 우리가 주를 위하여 온종일 죽임을 당하였으며 도살당할 양으로 여김을 받았나이다..’ 라고 하였느니라. 그러나 이 모든 일에서 우리를 사랑하시는 그분으로 말미암아 우리가 이기는 자들 보다 더 나으니라. 내가 확신하노니 사망이나 생명이나, 천사들이나 정사들이나 권세들이나 현재의 일들이나 다가올 일들이나, 높음이나 깊음이나, 어떤 다른 피조물이라도 우리를 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑에서 떼어 놓을 수 없으리라.”(롬 8:32-39)

           “그 뜻에 따라 모든 사람을 위하여 한 번 예수 그리스도의 몸을 드리심으로 우리가 거룩하게 된 것이라.”(히 10:10)고 성경은 말씀하고 있습니다. 예수 그리스도께서 자신의 몸에 아담의 죄로 인한 온 세상 죄를 모두 전가받아서 죽으셨기 때문에 그분을 믿을 때 누구나 마지막 아담이신 그분 안에 들어감으로써 그리스도의 피가 양심을 정결케 하여(히 9:14) 그 혼이 거룩하게 되기 때문인 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 예수 그리스도께서는 한 번의 속죄죄를 영원히 드리시고 하나님의 오른편에 앉으셨으며 그분께서는 한 번의 제사로써 거룩하게 된 자들을 영원히 온전케 하셨습니다(히 10:12-14)

               하나님께서는 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 주신 그리스도의 복음, 즉 은혜의 복음이며 화평의 복음이며 생명의 복음에 대하여 사도 바울에게 친히 계시하셨습니다. 이로 인하여 그는 이 복음을 나의 복음(롬 2:16)이라 했습니다. 그는 다른 복음을 전하는 자들에게 엄중한 경고의 메시지를 증거했습니다: “나는 너희가 그리스도의 은혜 안으로 너희를 부르신 분으로부터 그렇게 빨리 떠나 다른 복음을 따르게 됨을 이상히 여기노라. 다른 복음은 없나니 다만 너희를 교란시키는 어떤 사람들이 있어서 그들이 그리스도의 복음을 변개시키려는 것이라. 그러나 우리뿐만 아니라 하늘에서 온 천사라도 우리가 너희에게 전한 것 외에 다른 복음을 전한다면 그는 저주를 받으리라. 우리가 전에도 말한 것같이 지금도 내가 다시 말하노니 누구든지 너희가 받은 것 외에 다른 복음을 전한다면 그는 저주를 받으리라.'(갈 1:6-9)

                그렇습니다! 다른 복음을 전하는 사람이 저주를 받는 것은 그가 주 예수 그리스도의 보혈을 욕되게 하기 때문입니다. 사람이 향한 율법의 행위를 구원을 받는데 단 1%만이라도 섞거나, 또,구원을 받은 후에 지은 죄때문에 구원을 상실한다고 말하며 다른 복음을 전하는 사람은 그리스도의 피를 모독하는 것이기에 마땅히 저주를 받는 것입니다. 옛날 갈라디아 사람들이 다른 복음을 전하는 무리들로 인하여 교란을 받은 것 처럼 지금도 여전히 구원받은 사람들을 교란케 하는 무리들이 다른 복음을 전하고 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 시도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 “속지 말라!”(갈 6:7)고 경고했습니다.

Meditation of the week: Psalms 122:1-9

Main scripture: Isaiah 43:1-7

Subject: The eternal redemption for Israel chosen by God as well as church of God

             The LORD God spoke unto the Israel that are created and formed through prophet Isaiah. God himself redeemed them, and called them by his name.

               But the LORD God foreknew that the people of Israel shall sin against him so that they shall be afflicted, and he said unto them:

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”(Isa. 43:2)

               The LORD God also said unto them, they shall be delivered from all kinds of suffering, for he is the LORD their God, the Holy One of Israel, their Saviour, and he gave Egypt for their ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for them. Of the reason why the LORD God gave them such a great grace, he said unto them:

“Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.“(Isa. 43:4)

             Therefore, the LORD God asked Israel not to fear, for he shall be with them. he also made sure unto them, he shall gather them together scattered to all the earth using his power:

“Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”(Isa. 43:5-7)

                 The LORD God also said unto them of the reason why he gave them such a grace:

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. 21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”(Isa. 43:18-21)

               The LORD God showed them the glory when he does the new thing in the future through prophet Isaiah as he chose them. But he also said unto them in advance, they shall forget the grace of God saying,

“But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with 

an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins,

thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.”(Isa. 43:22-28)

                 Even though they have not repented for their sin that they not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, and killed him, he shall blot their transgressions for his own sake, and will not remember their sins. Of the reason why he is going to do such a grace for them, he said unto them, he created them to be chosen people, and formed them and redeemed them. In other word, to redeem them, he gave them the gentile nation as their ransom such as Egypt, Ethiopia and Seba.

                    The LORD God called Abraham out, and gave the new name of Israel unto Jacob, his grandson; and he chose the twelve sons of Jacob as the people of Israel. And God gave them the law that they couldn’t obey. Knowing them born in sin inherited from Adam, God used the Gentile nations against them as their sacrifices for their sins.

                  God also has chosen his children in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God born as the seed of Abraham. God gave his only begotten Son as unto all men as their ransom so that he may redeem all sins to pay for their sins. But the children of God cannot help sinning as Israel even after they are saved to the children of God. But God justified and not remember their sins recognizing the forgiveness of their sins through redemption of Christ.

As he not remember the transgressions of Israel through receiving the gentile nations as their ransom, he also not remember the sins of his children because of the ransom of his Son.

                  Job, in the midst of extreme sufferings, testified of the ransom for his sins prophesying of the Lord Jesus Christ to come to die for his sins:

“Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.”(Job 33:24)

               Because the LORD God gave unto Israel the Gentile nation as their ransom, he said unto them, he shall be with them, when they pass through the waters; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow them; when they walk through the fire, they shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon them. As God gave such a great grace unto his chosen people, he also gives unlimited great grace unto the chosen children that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour through his redemption, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.

             Apostle Paul testified of the grace given unto the children of God: 

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”(Eph. 2:1-10)

                 Yeah! As God used the Gentile nations as their ransom to redeem them, and create and form them, he gave us his only begotten Son as the ransom so that he pay for all our sins to be our Lord of redemption. Therefore, the children of God also are created and formed newly. Apostle Paul testified of this:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”(Cor. 5:17-19)

                 Yeah! As the LORD God never forsake eternally Israel as his chosen people, and gives them his kingdom, he also sealed the children of God with his Spirit until the day of redemption of their body in the day of Christ (Eph. 1:13). Apostle Paul testified of the eternal security of the salvation for the children of God:

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”9Rom. 8:32-39)

                 The scripture proclaims saying, By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”(Heb. 10:10)

Jesus Christ transferred the sins of the world inherited from Adam unto his body, and died. Therefore, whosoever believes in him enters into the body of Christ that is the last Adam, and the blood of Christ purge their conscience to make their souls sanctified. Jesus Christ , after he had offered one sanctified for sins for ever, and sat down on the right hand of God. And by just one offering, he has perfected for ever them that are sanctified (Heb. 10:12-14).

                  God himself revealed unto Apostle Paul of the gospel of Christ given through the Lord Jesus Christ that is also called as gospel of peace, and of peace, and of life. This is the reason why he called the gospel of Christ as his gospel(Rom. 2;16). He gave a warning message against them that preach another gospel saying,

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”(Gal. 1:6-9)

             Yeah! To preach another gospel is to insult the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to be cursed. Even one percent of the work of man cannot be mixed with the blood of Christ for salvation; and no one can lose the salvation because of their work such as sinning. As Galatians were troubled from them that preached another gospel, there are still someone that preach another gospel to trouble with them that are saved . Therefore, Apostle Paul warned the Galatians not to be deceived (Gal. 6:7)

Amen! Hallelujah!
