금주의 묵상: 시편56:1-13

말씀본문: 히브리서 1:1-3

제목: 천지를 창조하시고 붙들고 계시는 하나님의 말씀의 능력

          하나님께서는 사천 년 동안 선지자들을 통하여 다양한 방법으로 말씀하신 분이셨습니다. 그분께서 마침내 예수라는 이름을 가지시고 사람의 모습으로 나타나셨습니다. 그분께서는 태초에 말씀으로 계셨으며 하나님과 함께 계셨던 하나님이셨습니다. 하나님께서는 첫 사람이 사탄의 유혹에 넘어가서 빼앗긴 만물을 다시 찾으시고 상속받으시기로 세움을 받으셨습니다.

        하나님께서는 그분을 통하여 세상을 지으셨습니다. 그분께서는 말씀으로 모든 만물들을 친히 창조하신 분이십니다:

“하나님께서 말씀하시기를 ‘빛이 있으라.’ 하시니 빛이 있더라….하나님께서 말씀하시기를 ‘물들 가운데 창공이 있으라. 창공에서 물들에서 물들을 나누게 하라.’ 하시니라….그대로 되니라…..하나님께서 말씀하시기를 ‘하늘 아래의 물들이 한 곳으로 함께 모이고 마른 곳이 드러나라.’ 하시니, 그대로 되니라…..하나님께서 말씀하시기를 ‘땅은 땅 위에 풀과 씨를 맺는 채소와 그 종류대로 열매 맺는 씨를 가진 과실수를 내라.’ 하시니, 그대로 되니라…..”(창 1:3-12)

         그렇습니다! 땅에 있는 만물들을 창조하시기 위하여 말씀하셨던 하나님이 바로 태초에 말씀으로 계셨던 하나님이신 주 예수 그리스도이신 것입니다. 하나님께서는 창조의 능력이 있는 자신의 말씀들을 성령의 영감으로 기록하게 하셔서 하나님의 백성들과 자녀들을 위하여 주신 것입니다.

          창조주 하나님이 예수라는 이름으로 세상에 나타나신 분께서 친히 말씀하시기를, 자신이 하신 모든 말씀들이 영이요 생명이며 육은 전혀 무익하다고 말씀하셨습니다(요 6:63). 다시 말해서 자신의 말씀을 믿고 받아들이면 그 말씀이 죄로 인해 죽었던 영이 부활한다고 말씀하신 것입니다.

         사도 바울은 이 세상에 태어나는 모든 사람들이 영이 죽어서 태어나는 것에 대하여 증거했습니다: “허물과 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 너희를 그가 살리셨으니, 전에는 너희가 그것들 가운데서 이 세상의 풍조를 따르고 공중의 권세의 통치자, 곧 지금 불순종의 자녀들 안에서 역사하는 영을 따라 행하였으니 그들 가운데서 우리 모두가 이전에는 우리 육신의 정욕들 가운데서 행하였으며 육신과 마음의 욕망들을 이루어 다른 자들과 마찬가지로 본래 진노의 자녀였느니라.”(엡 2:1-3)

           하나님의 말씀 안에 창조의 능력이 있다는 것은 우리에게 기록된 말씀으로 주신 모든 말씀들이 단지 종이 위에 글자들이 아니라 영원히 살아있는 말씀인 것입니다. 사도들이 이 능력에 대하여 증거했습니다: “하나님의 말씀은 살아 있고 활력이 있어 양날이 있는 어떤 칼보다도 예리하여 혼과 영, 그리고 관절과 골수를 찔러 가르고 마음의 생각들과 의도들을 판별하느니라.”(히 4:12)

“모든 육체는 풀과 같고 사람의 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같으며, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 져도 주의 말씀은 영원토록 남아 있음이라. 이것이 너희에게 복음으로 전해진 말씀이라.”(벧전 1:24-25)

          오늘 우리에게 주신 본문 말씀을 통하여 하나님의 영광의 광채시며 그분의 인격의 정확한 형상을 가지시고 세상에 나타나신 예수님은 이 세상의 만물들을 친히 말씀으로 지으신 분이시며 또한 자신의 말씀의 능력으로 모든 만물들을 한치의 오차도 없이 붙들고 계신다고 증거하고 있습니다. 뿐만 아니라 때가 될 때에 그분께서 말씀하시면 땅과 하늘이 일제히 서게 될 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다:

“내 손이 땅의 기초도 놓았으며, 내 오른손이 하늘들을 폈나니 내가 그들을 부르면  그들이 함께 일어서느니라.”(사 48:13)

         예수께서 세상을 떠나시기 전에 제자들에게 마지막으로 남기신 아주 중요한 말씀이 있습니다. 이 말씀은 우리 모두에게도 주신 말씀이기도 한 것입니다: “내 안에 거하라. 그리하면 나도 너희 안에 거하리라. 가지가 포도나무에 붙어있지 아니하면 스스로 열매를 맺을 수 없듯이 너희도 내 안에 거하지 아니하면 역시 그렇게 되리라….너희가 내 안에 거하고 내 말들이 너희 안에 거하면 너희가 원하는 것은 무엇이나 구하라. 그러면 너희에게 이루어지리라.”(요 15:4,7)

          예수께서 떠나가시면 그들이 어떻게 그분 안에 거할 수 있겠습니까? 그분께서는 그들 모두가 자신 이 하신 말씀들이 그들 안에 거하게 하여 그들이 주님 안에 거하라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 하나님께서는 이 세상의 기초를 놓으시기 전에 그리스도 안에서 우리를 택하시고 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리를 자신의 자녀로 입양하시기로 예정하셨습니다.

그러나 우리의 몸은 여전히 마귀가 통치하는 세상에 남아 있는 것입니다. 마귀는 끊임없이 하나님의 자녀들을 공격한다는 것을 잊지 말아야 하는 것입니다. 그리스도께서 나타나시는 그리스도의 날까지 우리는 하나님의 말씀 안에 거하면서 영적인 전쟁에서 이겨야 하는 것입니다.

           사도 바울은 에베소 교회에 편지할 때에 그들이 영적 전쟁에서 승리하도록 하기 위하여 감옥에서 마지막으로 당부했습니다:  “끝으로 나의 형제들아, 주 안에서와 그의 힘의 능력 안에서 강건하라. 너희는 마귀의 술책에 대항하여 설 수 있도록 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입으라. 이는 우리의 싸움이 혈과 육에 대항하는 것이 아니라 정사들과 권세들과 이 세상 어두움의 주관자들과  높은 곳들에 있는 영적 악에 대항하는 것이기 때문이라. 그러므로 너희는 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입으라. 이는 너희가  악한 날에 저항할 수 있으며 또 모든 일을 다 이루기까지 서 있게 하기 위함이니라. 그러므로 서서 진리로 너희의 허리띠를 두르고 의의 흉배를 붙이고 화평의 복음을 준비한 것으로 너희 발에 신고 모든 것 위에 믿음의 방패를 가짐으로써 능히 너희가 악한 자의 모든 불붙은 화살들을 끌 수 있을 것이라. 또한 구원의 투구와 성령의 칼, 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지고 모든 기도와 간구로 항상 성령 안에서 기도하고 이를 위하여 모든 성도들을 위해 모든 인내와 간구로 깨어 있으라. 그리고 나를 위하여서는 내게 말씀을 주시어 내 입을 열어 담대하게 복음의 신비를 알리게 하도록 기도하라.”(엡 6:10-19)

           하나님께서 선지자 이사야를 통하여 이스라엘 백성들에게 하신 말씀 가운데 세상에 살고 있는 우리들의 모습을 깨닫게 하십니다:

“너 벌레 야곱아, 두려워 말라. 너희 이스라엘 사람들아 내가 너를 도우리라. 주 곧 , 이스라엘의 거룩한 분인 너의 구속주가 말하노라. 보라, 내가 너로 이가 날카로운 세 타작기구를 삼으리니 네가 산들을 쳐서 부스러기로 만들 것이며, 작은 산들을 쭉정이같이 만들 것이라.”(사 41:14-15)

          악한 현 세상에 살고 있는 우리의 모습은 악한 자들 앞에 마치 벌레처럼 연약한 모습인 것입니다. 우리가 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입지 않으면 마귀의 술책에 넘어가서 엄청난 고통을 받게 되는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 영이요 생명이 하나님의 말씀 안에 우리를 숨기고 보호받아야 하는 것입니다. 기록된 하나님의 말씀의 능력이 어떤 것인지에 대하여 어리석은 자녀들을 깨닫게 하시기 위하여 우리 눈에는 아주 작고 연약한 벌레를 통하여 말씀하십니다. 이 벌레는 사람들에게 실크 옷을 만들어주는 “누에”(silkworm)인 것입니다. 누에는 뽕 잎을 먹고 자라면서 성충이 되면 그의 입으로부터 끊임없이 명주실을 뽑아내어 자신의 몸을 완전히 덮을 때까지 쉬지 않고 일합니다. 다시 말해서 전신갑옷을 입을 때까지 그렇게 하는 것입니다. 그가 나방이가 되어 날아가는 날 까지 자신을 보호해야 하기 때문입니다. 그가 전신갑옷을 입지 않으면 언제든지 새들의 밥이 될 수 있기 때문입니다. 이와 마찬가지로 우리 또한 이 세상을 떠나는 그날까지 하나님의 말씀의 갑옷을 입어야 하는 것입니다. 우리도 누에처럼 쉬지 않고 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입어야 하는 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

This week’s meditation: Psalms 56:1-13

Word Scripture: Hebrews 1: 1-3

Title of sermon: The power of the words of God that created heaven and earth, and upholding those:  

          God had spoken  in various ways through the prophets four thousand  years. Finally He appeared to the earth in the form of person in the name of Jesus. He was the Word in the beginning, and was with God, and was God. He is appointed heir of all things that was taken by the Devil because of the sin of the first man. 

        God through Him made the world. He is the one who created all things by his words:  

” Let there be light: and there was light…And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it be divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above  the firmament…and it was so. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and it was so….And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, and herb yielding seed, and the fruit  tree yielding fruit after  his kind….and it was so…”(Gen. 1:3-12)

        That’s right! It was the Lord Jesus Christ that said to create all things in the earth. God has given  his words that have the power of creation through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost unto his people of Israel as well as the children of God.

          God the Creator was manifested in flesh in the name of Jesus, and said himself, “The words that I spoken unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63). In other word, whosoever receive his word by faith shall see his spirit quickened.

         Apostle Paul testified of the dead spirit of all men from the birth: “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.“(Ephesians 2:11 -3)

           The fact that the creating power of the Word of God is in every word given the word record for us are not just words on a piece of paper that will be a living word forever. The apostles were witness to this ability: ” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” ( Hebrews 4:12)

” For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you..” (1 Peter 1: 24- 25)

           The scripture given unto us testifies Jesus unto us saying, He is the brightness of his glory, and express image of his person, and upholding all things by his word of his power without any mistake. And when his time is fulfilled, all the earth and heaven shall stand by his word:

” Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.” (Isaiah 48:13)

             Jesus gave his disciple a very important words before he left the world. These words are for us too: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me….  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.“  “(John 15: 4,7).

          How they can abide in Him after Jesus leaves them? It was only possible for them to abide in him through having his words abide within them. Before the foundation of the world, God has chosen us in him  predestinating us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself. But our body  is still left in the world where the devil is reigning. We are not to forget that the devil is attacking the children of God without ceasing. This is the reason why we should abide in the words of God to have victory in the spiritual warfare until the day of Christ to come.

           The Apostle Paul, when he wrote to the church at Ephesus encouraged them for them from the prison so that they might be able to have victory in the spiritual warfare:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto, with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,“(Ephesians 6: 10-19 )

        God gives us understanding of how much we are fragile as worm in the world through the word unto the people of Israel spoken though prophet Isaiah: “Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith theLord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff“(Isaiah 41: 14-15).

          We live in the evil world in the appearances as fragile like a worm before the wicked. If we do not wear whole armor of God, we shall be ended up suffering in the trap of the Devil Therefore, we have to hide ourselves for the protection  in the word of God that is life and spirit. God teaches the foolish children of God  of the power of the word of God though a very small and fragile insect. It is the silkworm that gives us silk. The adult silkworms eats mulberry leaves as it  grows, and  out from its mouth, it pulls the silk constantly working tirelessly until it completely covers its bodies. In other words, it is to wear it until it wears the whole body armor before it becomes a flying moth to protect itself not to be eaten by the birds. In the same manner, we have to wear the whole armor of God without ceasing until the day of Christ leaving the world as  silkworms. Amen! Hallelujah!
