너를 축복하는 자들에게 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자를 저주하리라.
네 안에서 땅의 모든 족속들이 복을 받을 것이라." 하셨더라. (창 12:3)

Jan. 8, 2017: What is the Godliness in the Word of God?

The Meditation of the Week: Song of Solomon 6: 1-13
Text: Psalm 12: 1-8
The title of the Word: What is the godliness  in the word of God?
King David cried out to the Lord God, asking for help, that among the people he lived, the godly one was cut off and the faithful were being cut off from the offspring of men. They were lamenting that people are being persecuted by persecuting devout and faithful people and even killing them.
He specifically testified of the actions of the ungodly at the time:
” They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? “(Psalm 12: 2, 4)
He testified about what God would judge the ungodly ones:
” 3The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.” (Ps 12: 3, 5)
David also witnessed beforehand in the Holy Spirit that all the words of the Lord God would be corruptibly changed  by the ungodly, seven times over by the ungodly, and God will preserve his pure words forever. As he preached, the words of God were attacked and changed every time they were translated into various nations, including Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, German, English and all other languages including Korean, but God anointed the English King James Bible, (Authorized version).
However, King David testified that those who changed the Bible without acknowledging this Scripture would be exalted, and that a multitude of wicked followers would follow them everywhere (Ps. 12: 9). The apostle Paul also witnessed what kind of people these people are: ” For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” (II Corinthians 2:17)
The apostle Paul implies that those who are ungodly who corrupt the Bible are not born of God. In other words, they are not born of the Spirit, but religious ones who serve only riches.
The Apostle Paul said that when he testified of godliness as the  very mysterious:
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”(1Tim. 3:16)
The godliness he has testified is that God was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born in this world for the first time in the form of an innocent man. He died for the sins of the world (John 1:29), and the gospel of Christ was preached to the Gentiles, and that he was raised up to heaven again in the glory after the resurrection.
The apostle John testified of the truly godly ones: ” He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. “(John 1: 11-13)
The apostle Paul testified that he and those of his fellows were born of God,  not like ungodly men who take profit by corrupt the Word of God. In other words, just as Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, they were also born again of the same Spirit, testifying that they were as sinless ones as Jesus. Just as the sinless God was born as mystery, the fact that we, sinners, only believed in Jesus, was that all sins were removed from conscience in the soul and justified by the Holy Spirit.
It is godliness that God became a  man, but it is also godliness that sinners became sinless souls justified through the Holy Spirit, and these two facts are truths that cannot be resolved by any argument. Therefore, the godly before God is the justified by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and forgiven all sins. However, even if they are made godly by the grace of God, in order for the outward man to have a fully godly person, he must make an endless effort to live a godly life. The apostle Paul testified of the practice of godliness:
” For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” (1 Timothy 4: 8)
That’s right! Exercising for the health of   body may have to restrain the flesh, and even though the soul is saved as if it could live a somewhat healthy life, it is spiritually godless unless it controls the body of sin through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Even in that part of life, the godly person cannot be manifested. The health of the flesh is only for a moment, but when we live a godly life that obeys God’s Word while we are living in this world, that godliness is a promise not only for now but forever and forever.
King Solomon, who realized this truth, looking forward born again Christians of the Spirit, he said to the godly Christians that he is like a moon before the sun of righteousness:
” Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?” (Sol 6:10)
That’s right! The sun of righteousness, our Lord Jesus Christ, died for our sins. Since then the world has become a night., But the Christians receive the light of His light and become like a moon into the world. The apostle Paul exhorted the Saints, saying that the time had come for the darkness to be away, but the sun of righteousness is going to rise again. He asked the saints To live a godly life that shines light: “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. “  (Romans 13:12)
God has made us see our appearance through the moon that we can see in the night. Beginning with a crescent moon, half moon,  full moon, and we also see the Moon completely hidden by the Earth through lunar eclipses. Just as the moon receive the light of the sun and reflect and shine the light, we  Christians also receive the word of  God and can preach the words and shine the light of life into the world through the life obedient to the words. At first, it is only a little like a crescent moon, but we can practice more and more light through the practice of godliness. Finally, wherever we go like a full moon, we are to  shine the light of life. As a soldier of Christ in the whole armor of the Word of God, we can save the power of darkness and save those who are slaves in it. Therefore King Solomon said that Suleiman was not merely a moon, but a majesty like an army of flags. Therefore, a Christian who is born again of the Holy Spirit and become a child of God is as beautiful as the bride of Christ before God, and becomes a soldier of Christ when the godly life is as full as the full moon.
Amen! Hallelujah!
