This week’s meditation: Psalms 80:1-17

Scripture: Ephesians 2: 14-22

Title: Blessing of the Gentiles to be the family of God

            The first man woman, Adam and Eve became sinners because of the sin that was brought forth. As the result of that, all men sinned, and come short of the glory of God(Rom. 3:23).

             God especially selected  the twelve sons of Jacob in the descendants of Abraham,  and gave Jacob a new name, Israel unto Jacob. God had sent Joseph into Egypt, and let the evil man, Pharaoh discipline the people of Israel before letting them from Egypt to enter the land of Canaan.

          Finally, the LORD God had prepared his servant, Moses, and poured the ten plagues in Egypt to free Israelites from Egypt. Afterwards, God gave them the law that was supposed to be kept through Moses before he led them to the land of Canaan that was promised unto Abraham. But they had failed to observe the law of God dwelling in the land of milk and honey, and they refused to hear the words of God spoken through the prophets. They were eventually driven out from land of promise.

          God has let the whole world about how much serious problem of the sin that was brought to the earth  by the Devil six thousand years ago  through his judgment against the people of Israel.

          God has spoken of the grace given into the people of Israel as well as the judgment against their sins against him:

 ” Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.  She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. “(Psalm 80: 8-13).

           The Holy Ghost also speaks of their repentance and prayer  after they received the  

” 14Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. “(Psalm 80: 14-19).

            The Holy Ghost spoke through Asaph, a Levite of the salvation of Israel when they call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that shall appear as the Son of man in the future.

            The LORD God spoke against them how much they are worthless without him when they were in the captivity in Babylon:

 “Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch  which is among the trees of the forest? Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned? Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.“(Ezekiel 15: 2-7).

           That’s right! Israel was judged through breaking the law of God, and  all other nations also judged in the ignorance without the law. They couldn’t keep the law of God because of their evil heart within them because of sin, and so are all other nations of people as well.

         Apostle Paul testified of the blessing to be one body by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ through the remission of sins whether they are the Jews or the Gentiles:

” For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:”(Ephesians 2:14-16).

           Apostle Paul as a Jew testified of the special grace given unto us, the Gentiles not the Jews:

“And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.“(Ephesians 2: 17-22).

          That’s right! When we were sinners of the Gentiles, we were neither vine trees nor fig trees at all, rather we were even inferior to wild vine tree. But with grace of God, our sins were taken away by the blood of Jesus Christ, and our conscience within our soul were purified(Heb. 9:14). Now we received the wonderful blessing to be the family of God through the salvation by the Holy Ghost. Therefore, the church of God is the kingdom of God in the earth through the presence of Father God, and the Lord Jesus Christ that is our groom as well as our brother, and the Holy Ghost:  

          However, Jesus left very important words unto his disciples  just before he died on the cross shedding his blood; his final word is also for us belong to the family of God so that we should engrave his words in our heart:

“ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. “(John 15: 1-5).

           That’s right! God will purify his children that bring forth fruit so that they may be able to bear much fruits. Jesus appeared unto Apostle John after he was glorified, and said unto him:

” He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. “(Revelation 22: 11-12) Amen! Hallelujah!
