This week’s meditation: Psalms 15:1-5

Word Title: Why God should send a prophet like Moses?

          God  saved children of Israel from Egypt through Moses, and he spoke unto them a very important thing through Moses before they entered the promised land, Canaan:

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.“(Deut. 18: 18-19).

           God knew in advance that many false prophets will come forward to deceive, and added a message of warning. God asked them to discern the false prophet that insist as the prophet as Moses:

” But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him” (Deuteronomy 18: 20-22)

             God called Moses  letting him to deliver the children of Israel that were bound in slavery in Egypt for 400 years from the hands of Pharaoh. However, they will still continue to live in the sinful world, even if they came out of Egypt. God gave them the law so that they may understand themselves sinners before God; and he planned for them to lead the kingdom of God without sin and death and curses through the prophet as Moses coming out of the wicked world.

         God in advance through David prophesied of them that enter the holy kingdom of God, the holy mountain of God:

“ Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?  He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.….. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand   in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. “(Psalm 15: 1-5; 24: 3-5)

             David was Looking a Prophet, and prophesied through him to give them righteousness in the Holy Ghost. After David committed adultery and murder, he testified of a prophet is going to cleanse his sins with repentance:

” Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.“(Psalm 51: 4-7)

            King David knew in advance of the actual hyssop in his mouth when he hang on the cross..   Apostle John testified:

” Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth..” (John 19:29)

             The Apostle Paul testified of hyssop in the book of Hebrews:

” Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.“(Hebrews 9: 18-20)

            That’s right! King David and the apostle Paul testified of a prophet as Moses that is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel through the blood of covenant and hyssop.

             1,500 years later, Jesus appeared to the land of Israel, and he commanded the Jews as Moses said unto them:

” After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. ….. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.“(Matthew 6: 9-10,31-33)

           Jesus told them, they have to seek the kingdom of God that is the kingdom of Christ. And Jesus made sure them to seek the righteousness of God, not the righteousness of the law to enter the kingdom of God. In other word, they cannot enter the kingdom of God unless they understand their sins through the law, and believe in him that nail the law on the cross through his death on the cross. But, unfortunately, they never listened to the prophet spoken by Moses, and crucified him after all.

          Lord Jesus testified to the Jews many times of himself as the prophet spoken by Moses as him. he healed all diseases including lepers, and made the stormy wind silent, and raise the dead, and cast out devils and so on. He showed the his kingdom to come unto some disciples. He said unto the Jews to destroy the temple, then he will build again in three days; he raised his body, that is the true temple the third day as he said.

            As God said to Moses, “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever  will noy hearken my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require of him.”, they have been paying for the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ miserably. But they shall repent their sins in the midst of the Great Tribulation under persecution of the Antichrist that they shall receive; and they shall be forgiven their sins to enter the Millennium kingdom of Christ.

” But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away…. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn…. In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness“(Isaiah 64: 6; Zech. 12:10; 13: 1).

         God will have them dwell in the holy mountain of the kingdom of God established on earth in the kingdom of God that is their kingdom of God. But since the Holy Ghost came to the earth, whosoever if the Jews or the Gentiles shall be blessed in the kingdom of God within them through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. In the day of Christ when the Lord Jesus appears in the air, they shall be relocated to the heavenly kingdom. Apostle Paul testified of the glorious day to come:

” For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.” (Philippians 3: 20-21)

             Finally, according to the mysterious dispensation of the fulness of times of God, all things shall be in one  in Christ , both which  are in heaven, and which are on earth ‘ even in him(the body of Christ that is the church of God)(Eph. 1:9-10).  That’s right! If he had not come, no one can be born of the Spirit, nor to enter the kingdom of God in heaven and in earth. Amen! Hallelujah!
