Word Title: Do You Believe In Jesus As Your Redeemer Or Another Jesus?
King David confessed that the Lord God is his shepherd. In other words, he testify that he is the sheep of the Lord God. There was a time when he thought he was righteous not knowing that only God is righteous. He spoke of his righteousness in prayer:
” The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.” (Psalm 7: 8)
But after he had committed a great sins before God, his prayer was changed. When the prophet Nathan rebuked him for adultery and murder that he committed, he could no longer assert his righteousness, and realized that he was a miserable sinner before God, and prayed for repentance and mercy.
“ (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.. “( Psalm 51: 1-10)
At last he knew that through his righteous deeds he was made righteous, and that by doing all his best in keeping all the laws faithful, he made his righteousness before God, claiming that his righteous acts made him righteous, he did not know that there were sins that were inherited.
When the God of David finally became a man and appeared in the land of Israel in the name of Jesus, the religious leaders at that time also knew that they would be justified by the acts of their law. Jesus said every single sin inside heart of them:
” That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. “(Mark 7: 20-23)
That is correct! King David did not know that he had adultery and murder in his heart.
Jesus appeared to the world and told all the iniquities in them, but at that time the religious people and most of the Jews in the land of Israel did not realize at all. God still wants everyone who lives on the earth to realize this. At the time of Jesus, only a few of his disciples, prostitutes, tax collectors came to Jesus and asked for mercy to forgive their sins.
But most people came to Him, but the purpose they came to Jesus was for the things that are corruptible. Came out to fill their belly, came out to be healed, and went out to see the miracles Jesus did. He did great miracles, but they did not know that He is the Creator God.
But Jesus had compassion on them, and fed them, healed all sicknesses, and drove out devils.. Then he spoke of the purpose of his coming to the world:
” I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which Iwill give for the life of the world…. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.55For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.56He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.“(John 6: 51,53-5 8)
But apart from the disciples of Jesus, everyone did not understand what this word means, They left Jesus. But when they got hungry again, they came to Jesus again. It was to fill the belly. They murmured and spoke unto Jesus, claiming that they had knowledge to judge his word: ” How can this man give us his flesh to eat? This is an hard saying; who can hear it? ” (John 6: 52,60)
At this time Jesus knew their hearts and said again:
” It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
It is the same whether the people at that time and the billions of people living in the world today who cannot understand Jesus. Still, people live for a while, thinking that it is the purpose of life to do their best only for the corruptible body. Like the Jews at that time, spiritually ignorant people judged with the knowledge they had learned about the message that they should eat and drink Jesus’ flesh and blood. They couldn’t understand, if they only believed in Jesus, he would forgive sins in man by taking away them, and so that The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God shall raise them again after death. . Not only the Jews but also the many Christians today believe that the purpose of the church going is not to believe in the Redeemer Jesus, who forgave and forsake their sins but to pursue the corruptions of the flesh and to fulfill their desires of their flesh..
Most of the Jews who lived 2,000 years ago did not know that they were sinners, but they took only the physical benefits from Jesus . They did not realize the redemption that Jesus paid for all their sins by tearing all his flesh and shedding all the blood. They did not understand him as the Redeemer, and rather killed Him.
Jesus told His disciples who believed Him about who He is:
” I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. “(John 10: 11-15).
David is confessing that the Lord God is his shepherd, and confessing that he is his sheep. He believed in the Redeemer, delivering sins deeply rooted in him from his mother ‘s womb, praying for forgiveness and elimination of them through the mercy of the Lord God. He confessed Him as the Good Shepherd by pre-trusting the Lord Jesus Christ to come through the Holy Spirit in him as his shepherd. He said in his prayer, “The Lord said to My Lord, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.‘ (Psalm 110: 1), and confessed that Jesus, the Redeemer in the future, had come to know Him in advance and became His sheep by faith.
The sheep that are in the care of shepherd are not in want, but as the shepherd lead to the pastures as they go out to the pastures, Christians who receive the spirit of Jesus Christ are not in want as David, are going to drink the water of life in the pastures of the words of God.
King David confessed that God revived his soul. He pleaded, “ DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word..” (Psalm 119: 25). That is correct! Every soul is cleaved to the body of sin from the birth. Therefore, the soul of all men is born in sin. Therefore, at the moment of believing in death and burial and resurrection for the sins of the Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ, the soul is separated from the body of sin to be righteous, revived, and unto eternal life.
From the moment the soul is revived and separated from the body of sin, the Holy Spirit leads to the paths of righteousness. Also, the Lord is always with us so that neither death nor evil is afraid of. Also, the stick of a shepherd is always guides as if it were a stick and a rod. In addition, when the enemy devil is judged, we will sit at the table with Him in front of the enemy. We shall also be anointed and rule in his Kingdom. Also, as the shepherds lead the sheep, as the two German shepherds observe the sheep, the goodness and mercy of the Lord always follow us while we live in this world. Finally, we shall dwell forever and ever in the new Jerusalem, our father’s house. Amen! Hallelujah
