The Meditation of the Week: Psalms 42:1-11

Text: John 14:16-31

Theme of the Word: God wants to reprove the world, and  comfort them in the world

 Everyone born and living in the world needs God’s comfort. It is because of suffering, such as sin, death, disease, and poverty and so on. Pain, such as sickness or poverty, can sometimes be comforted for a while, but no one in the world is able to comfort the matter of sin and death.

 When you have a serious physical illness like cancer, you will go to a doctor. The doctor tells the patient that he needs to find the cancer cells in the patient first and then perform the surgery. At this time, when the patient trusts the doctor’s words, the cancer cells are removed through the doctor’s hand. When the cancer is completely removed, the patient is comforted.

 In a lot of cases, people do not feel any symptoms of cancer until the end of stage. Likewise, the sickness of  sin and death within  man is not understood unto death.   As the cancer cells found in the flesh can be found in the early days and removed to be healed and comforted, the sin and death rooted in the soul of man shall be removed by the hand of God Almighty bringing forth unimaginable comfort. The Bible says:

” For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

 As there is a procedure for doctor to take care of the cancer of his patient, there is also a procedure for God to heal man who is suffering from eternal death because of sin as cancer, and to transfer him from death to eternal life and to  give eternal comforts,

 As a cancer patient should go to a doctor and must believe  the doctor so that he may do the surgery to remove the cancer in him, we must believe the word of God saying all men are born as sinners to be perished eternally not only body but also soul and spirit  because of the  sin like cancer.

 Jesus Christ loved all men  born in the world living in the midst of sin and death and curses; and he died to take away the sin of the world and rose again.  Only God himself is able to comfort man  by the removal of the sins and deaths rooted in man, and for all of them that believe in God as the Almighty Doctor, he removes sins and death and curses by the sword of the word of God through spiritual surgery. . Just as  man must believe  a cancer specialist  whatever he says, we must fully believe in Jehovah Rafha God, the specialist of death.

 But two thousand years after Jesus Christ has gone away and sent His Holy Spirit in his name to the world, the majority of people do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has removed the sin of the world to solve the problem of sin and death It is a sad thing to look at. Therefore, the Holy Spirit who came to give comfort to this world is still reproving this world. Jesus said this beforehand:

” Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.“(John 16: 7-11)

 As the Doctor finds cancer cell  and tells the patient, if he does not believe the doctor, the patient must be reproved. If we do not trust in the word of Jesus, it is impossible to remove more serious cancer cell as sin and death. Jesus also said of them that not believe in him cannot enter the kingdom of God because of sin and death when they leave the world through death, Jesus  is also reproving them saying they shall live following the lust, and eventually shall be judged together with the ruler of the world when he is judged.

Just as cancer cell that drive people to death with no symptoms until the end of the stage, sin and death also are not felt  until the moment of death unto sudden death. Through healing terminal sickness as cancer or finding the helping hand in poverty, man can be comforted for a while. but the comfort of God is from the eternal removal of sin and death as the spiritual cancer cells from the soul and spirit of man.. Then the kingdom of God with joy shall be done in the  heart of man to receive unimaginable comfort.

The Bible says that the kingdom of God in the believer is not matter of eating or drinking. In other words, because the Holy Spirit of God, who is the Comforter, lives in the kingdom of God in the believer, and he lives in comfort that the world does not know. Jesus, who came to the land of Judaea, said to the Jews who did not believe in him, ” But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (food, drink, and clothing)” (Matt. 6:33). In other word, He said that  if God’s kingdom is fulfilled in them, he shall live in the supply of God, regardless of the world in which they eat, drink, and wear, because they shall be children of God and shall be  supplied  necessary things physically. But most of them still live in suffering for the last 2,000 years because of not believing in Jesus.

In addition, the Bible says that children of God who enjoy peace with God in the comfort of God in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, can overcome any sufferings from Satan that is the ruler of this world.
” Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.“(Romans 5: 1 -5)

That’s right! The children of God, who live with the Holy Spirit, can overcome everything with the power of God’s love, which is poured through the Holy Spirit of comfort, whenever it is difficult. Satan, the ruler of the world who is already judged, is still preventing people from believing in Jesus. In addition, when the children of God reprove the world for sin, righteousness, and judgment according to the Holy Spirit, Satan is attacking God’s children when they lead sinners to the kingdom of God. But God in them is greater than Satan in the world, so they can overcome all difficulties.

And about the lives of those who dwell in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said:
” But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (John 15:26)
Christians who receive eternal life and live in the comfort of God overcome all things by faith, and become the mouth of the Holy Spirit in the world, living the life of preaching the gospel of God’s comfort, reproving the world..

Apostle John, who overcame the whole world by faith, testified about this: ”  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?“(1 John 5: 4-5) Amen! Hallelujah!
