Meditation of the Week: Psalm 91:1-16

Text: Ezekiel 20:10-20

Sermon Title: Sabbaths given as a type of the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ, and the conspiracy of self-proclaimed Jews

          After God delivered the Israelites from Egypt through Moses, He gave them the Ten Commandments. The fourth of the Ten Commandments is the Sabbath commandment:

” Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. ” Exodus 20:8-11)

          It says that the Lord God gave the Sabbath commandment to the people of Israel because on the seventh day God rested after the creation of all things. Moses, the writer of Genesis, testified:

” Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” (Genesis 2:1-3).

         The reason God commanded the Israelites to rest on the seventh day was because God rested on the seventh day. In other words, the Sabbath is the day of rest for God.

       However, since the old serpent the devil tempted the first man to sin, and sin, death, and curses entered the world, God could not rest since then. The old serpent the Devil, who illegally usurped the earth created by God. When Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath appeared, the devil crushed and bruised the heel of Jesus Christ, the seed of the woman who appeared to as a Jew to the children of Israel whom God had chosen as a woman.. Moreover, he has been persecuting God’s chosen people of Israel until now.

        In his prayer, King David testified of their Lord God, who guards the people of Israel without resting:

” I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” (Psalm 121:1-8).

        God judged the Israelites very severely for committing the Sabbath. Even when someone did what seemed to be a very misdemeanor against the Sabbath, he could not escape from death penalty. When they were in the wilderness, they stoned and killed the Sabbathbreaker:

“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

33And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

34And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 35And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

36And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Numbers 15:32-36).

          Finally, the Israelites who failed the Sabbath years were taken to Babylon as much as they broke the Sabbath years, so that the land  rested for seventy years:

“To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.” (2 Chronicles 36:21)

           God made it clear through the prophet Ezekiel that the commandment for the Sabbaths was a sign God gave to establish a covenant with His chosen people of Israel:

” Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

11And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.

12Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. 13But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them..” (Ezekiel 20:10-13)

       When God, who had given the Sabbath commandment, appeared to the people of Israel in the form of the Son of Man, Pharisees saw his disciples pluck the ears of corn, and to eat on the Sabbath, the they condemned them, and the Lord spoke unto them  of the Sabbath:

”  Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 6But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.‘” (Matthew 12:3-8)

        When the apostles and the Holy Ghost spoke upon  hearing the argument that the Gentile Christians born of the Holy Ghost should be circumcised to keep the law.:

“For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. ” (Acts 15:28-29)

         That’s right! Christians who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ  regenerated by the Holy Ghost are those who have been set free from the Ten Commandments and all laws, including the Sabbath commandment, and have already entered the kingdom of God in the Holy Ghost. Because the Lord Jesus has given a new commandment:

” A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. ” (John 13 :34-35)

         That’s right! The Sabbath commandment was not given to any Gentile or Christian either other than the Jew. It was only given to the Jews. When Jesus spoke to the Jews how to pray, He told them to pray for the coming of  thy kingdom. That kingdom is the kingdom that is coming on the earth. The gospel, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!” preached to the Jews by John the Baptist and Jesus, foreshadowed the coming of Christ’s Kingdom in Israel.

         Four thousand years ago, the LORD God gave the covenant to Abraham saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land(Canaan), from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates(Gen. 15:18) ). It was the covenant of the land  in the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ that is the seed of God(Gal. 3:16) where the people Of Israel shall enter.  At this time, God will finally rest. Of this Apostle Paul testified to the Hebrews:

” For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” (Hebrews 4:4-9).

       However, whosoever believes in Jesus Christ, Jew or Gentile enters into the spiritual kingdom of God in the Holy Ghost in righteousness, peace, and joy (Romans 14:17) in the eternal rest of God. In other words, not only seventh day, but in the eternal Sabbath:

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:10).

           However, for the past two thousand years, self-proclaimed Jews have corrupted God’s eternal rest in the seventh millennium, the thousand-year kingdom of Jesus Christ, which is included in the Sabbaths commandment given to the people of Israel, so that they may occupy the earth to rule forever and ever.

          Also, the representative self-proclaimed Jews claiming Peter as the first pope  that is the Vatican, the founder of the Roman Catholic Church.  They made the replacement  theology claiming that the covenant given to the Israelites had already been abolished because of their sins, and that the covenant unto them was replaced by their church.  During the Second World War, the Vatican  united with the Nazis to make the plot to kill all the Jews on the earth. Not only them,, but also numerous heresies claiming themselves Jews have come out claiming that they belong to the 12 tribes of Israel. In the recent last days, even most Protestant churches are joining the replacement  theology by uniting with the self-proclaimed Jewish Roman Catholic who is united with the Deep States, denying the millennium of Jesus Christ, and joining the heresy doctrine of no Millennial kingdom as well as postmillennialism. Now, they have become one body with the Roman Catholic Church, united with the WCC, WEA, and NCCK, unto  total apostasy. The resurrected Jesus spoke to the Smyrna Church about self-proclaimed Jews:

” I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. ” (Rev. 2:9)
