Sermon Title: The image of the bride most beautiful to the eyes of Christ
King Solomon describes in great detail the beauty of the Sulamite woman. His words is also what our Lord Jesus Christ wanted his bride to be. Solomon’s words are words that we cannot understand unless we deeply understand them spiritually. It may sound like obscene words to carnal people, but pure-hearted Christians can understand its deep meaning with the help of the Holy Ghost.
When people look at other people, usually look them from head to toe downward. But Solomon speaks from the bottom of her feet to the top of her head upward. This may be difference between God and man
Solomon said, How beautiful are the feet of the Sulamite woman in her sandals? And her navel is like a round goblet. which wanteth not liquor: her belly an heap of wheat set about with lilies. Her two breasts are like two young roes that are twin. Her neck is as a tower of ivory; her eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim; her nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus. Her head upon her is like Carmel, and the hair of her head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.
As our Lord Jesus looks at his own bride, the Church of God, we can see what he wants his bride to look like.
The first thing the Lord Jesus Christ wants is to wear the shoes on the Christian’s feet and preach the gospel. He also wants him to have strong spiritual thighs to be strong enough to climb mountains and cross rivers.
He want our belly button to be full of juice, not wine. The Bible tells us that Christians do not take pleasure getting drunken with wine:
Among alcoholic beverages, wine is toxic, making people intoxicated and taking off their clothes. When Noah was drunk with wine and became naked, when he saw the deeds of his son Ham, he cursed him. Lot’s daughters made his father drunk with wine, and became pregnant to give birth of the cursed nation of Moab and Ammon. It prove that wine has been used people to be involved to sins
To say that the belly of a Sulamite woman is like a heap of wheat set about with lilies The appearance of heaps of wheat piled up in the fragrance of the lilies, which is an image of a Christian who is always providing physical and spiritual food to people. At this time, the fragrance of Christ will be revealed from them. Apostle Paul testified of those who thought only of their ownselves:
The two hearts of Christians are to be like two young twins of roe. They must always feed the lambs with the words of spiritual milk so that they may grow spiritually with the pure milk of the word (1 Peter 2:2).
Also, the Christian’s neck must be as strong as an ivory tower. We must surrender our strong spiritual will to the Lord. Also, we must not become a stiff neck before God.
Christian’s eyes should be as clear as a fish pond in Heshbon. For this reason, the eyes of the Lord must be clean enough to reflect the eyes of Christian, so that there is no awkwardness. Not only that, when we have pure and clear eyes and have fellowship with saints, we must be filled with pure joy.
Just as the nose of a Shulamite woman is like a tower in Lebanon looking towards Damascus, Christians must always watch and pray and always climb up to a spiritual tower to smell with spiritual nose the attack of our enemy, Satan the Devil, and drive it out.
Mount Carmel is the mountain where Elijah brought fire down from heaven to kill hundreds of Baal priests. Likewise, Christians have to fight with the Principalities and the Powers and , the rulers of the darkness of this world, and the evil spirits in high places to win the spiritual warfare to lead many souls to Christ.
Just as the hair of a Shulem woman is purple, Christians who have won spiritual warfare must become those who will rule with Christ when He comes and establishes the kingdom when Christ comes as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Just like Sulamite woman’s height is like a palm tree, and her chest is like a bunch of grapes. When palm tree soars high into the sky when a great wind like a typhoon blows, sometimes it bends and falls down on the ground. Even if it falls down seven times, it gets up eight times. It is to be Christian who does not fall down. We can also see the Christian, always flowing wine not liquor from the chest, filling the mouths of other saints.
Moreover, the roof of Sulamite woman’s mouth is like the finest wine for the one she loves, it goes down sweetly, and makes the lips of those who sleep speak. That’s right! Christians always want to speak sweet words from their mouths, so that even those who are spiritually asleep will wake up and come out with beautiful words that will cause them to speak.
The Holy Ghost used Solomon’s mouth to mysteriously reveal the figure of the beautiful bride whom Christ loves.
