Revelation #20

         Have you been at peace in the Lord during the past week? Last week we went over Revelation Chapter 12. There, we saw the red dragon, Satan appear on earth. This week, we will get a closer look at Satan through the book of Job. As the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. We are in a spiritual warfare. Satan was already sentenced to death 2,000 years ago when our Lord came and blotted out all the sins of the world on the cross, but we can see that Satan will remain active until the day the Lord returns and binds him and throws him into the lake of fire. What God has allowed is that His children live on earth and lead many souls who are in the hands of the devil to the Lord. Because God wants all people to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). God doesn’t want anyone to go to Hell. The Lord Himself said in Matthew 25 that hell was not made for man, but for the devil and his angels. Again, related to this red dragon of Revelation 12, We will study in detail the identity of Satan, who has seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns above the heads, focusing on what is written in the Book of Job. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could open the book of Job and listen to it? The word of God must be studied. We understand worldly studies through extensive reading and note taking. How much more should we properly listen to the great knowledge of the kingdom of God through the Word? There is this strange being in the 41st chapter of the book of Job. There are 34 verses about the existence of Satan. In fact, there are more verses about Satan than about Jesus Christ in the Bible. We need to know Satan’s identity so we don’t get fooled. He is a deceiving liar. He even Transforms into an angel of light. He also disguises himself as a snake, and even a dragon. So we have to know better.

             Job 41:1 (KJV) ¶ Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Apostate translations convert Leviathan into a crocodile, a hippopotamus, an elephant or even a dinosaur. But they ignore the cross reference to Psalm 74:14 where Leviathan has multiple heads. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. (Psalm 74:14 KJV) not one but plural, heads. Revelation 12 says the dragon has seven heads. That’s why Leviathan has more than one head. What is Leviathan? Let’s go through the words. Psalm 74:13 (KJV) Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. As such, dragons appear in the Old Testament. And also in Isaiah 27:1 (KJV) ¶ In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; here it says Leviathan is a serpent. Gradually the identity is revealed and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. So, this serpent, leviathan is the dragon in the sea. Now you all know what Leviathan is, right? It is the same content as in Revelation 12. That is why the book of Revelation is the conclusion of the entire Bible. So, if you don’t study other books of the Bible, you won’t understand the words of Revelation. That is why people who have not studied the Bible say that the book of Revelation is difficult. But now is the time to know the words of Revelation. So in Matthew 24:45-46 (KJV) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  What is season? We’re in the end time. It is these end times Satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour, so if you don’t hold on to the hope in God’s word, we often see that many are tested and fall away. That’s why many people go to church and then suddenly fall away. For that reason, we are told to put on the full armor of the Word of God. Only then can we fight the devil and win. We must wage a spiritual battle. Although we have been saved, we are still wrapped in a weak fleshy body, we cannot overcome the power of the devil if we do not put on the Armour of God. We come to understand the truth by looking at each and every verse of the Bible. Those who have realized the truth will not be shaken. The person who just put it in their head will be shaken. Even the person who just recites Bible verse is shaken. However, those who understand the Word will never waver.

            Moving on to Job 41:34 (KJV) He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. The Leviathan. The dragon. The devil. He is the king over the children of pride. The Devil ultimately is the source of causing people to be arrogant, turning them against God. Causing people to not believe the Word of God. This is pride. There is a big difference between being arrogant before people and being arrogant before God. That is why people who are proud before God do not believe in the Word. We have entered the 21st century and our scientific advancements has developed exponentially. By manipulating DNA, God’s order of creation is destroyed, and even the plants we eat are genetically modified at will. Not sure how this will play out in the future. It violates God’s creation order. This is building the Tower of Babel. The Tower of Babel was built during the time of Nimrod, and God scattered them all when people joined in together to challenge God. In fact, the limitations of modern medicine and science are only to the living, for it knows nothing about life beyond the grave. A doctor or scientist knows nothing beyond death. We can see that Job 41, Revelation 12, Isaiah 27, and Psalm 74, deals with Satan, the arrogant spiritual being who defied God. It is This Leviathan, Satan’s mission to keep people from believing in God, Jesus, so their souls will end up in hell. Jesus said, John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. It is God’s will to save, and Satan’s will is to kill. So, we must absolutely not be deceived by science and technology, and we must know the spiritual world beyond the death of the body within the Word of God. It’s not too late even now. Please study the Word from now on. Ask the pastor to teach you the Word. You must learn the Word. It’s just one book From Genesis to Revelation. God gave you one book for you to study during your whole life. How many of you actually read the Bible? How long are you meditating? People like King David loved the word of God so much that in Psalm 119 he said the word of God is sweeter than a honeycomb. How is the Word of God to you? Is your answer same as King David? Or is it tasteless? Is the book of Revelation too hard to digest? Or is it tasteful? That’s why grown ups can eat steak. A baby can only drink milk. You must grow up. The apostle Paul lamented: “How long will you only drink milk? Shouldn’t you now eat some solid food to discern good and evil? Shouldn’t you discern God’s will?” Furthermore he said, “once again I go through labor pains until you all form the image of Christ in you. Even though you were saved, you all live as you please. I will go through labor again until the true Christ is formed in you.” That way when the Lord comes, when we take off our flesh, we’ll appear just like the Lord. So the apostle Paul said: Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. He testified to live by faith in his word. Also, the apostle Paul advised in 1 Timothy 6:20 with sadness: 1 Timothy 6:20 (KJV) O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Doesn’t matter what scientists may argue against, it’s no use. They know very little. Just a fraction of God’s creations have been discovered that’s all. There are no inventions. The same goes for philosophy. Philosophy is a theory created with human reasoning, but the Bible says that human reason, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV) Meaning animals are rather clean compared to humans because they haven’t sinned before God. We must realize this well.

            Let’s continue looking into book of Job and the identity of Satan. Verses 9-10: Job 41:9-10 (KJV) Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? This monster literally has no hope. After the Lord comes and at the millennium’s end, only then the devil will fall into the lake of fire. In Revelation 20:10, at the time of the Second Coming, Satan will be chained up in the bottomless pit and be prevented from tempting anyone for a thousand years. THEN, God will allow time for the final temptation at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ, as the devil will fall into the lake of fire where the false prophet and the antichrist have already entered. Revelation 20:14 (KJV) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. The first death is the death of the body. However, the second death is to live in the lake of fire, eternally separated from God who is life. We must also find the answer to the word death in the Bible. Cessation of breathing is not death. It’s when the soul leaves the body. The question is: But does the soul leave the body and live eternally with the God of life? Or is it to live with the devil eternally in hell? You have to choose one of the two. Also Question for those who are saved going to heaven: Will you be rewarded and wear crowns to become rulers for doing many of the Lord’s works on earth? If not, will you just barely receive salvation in the midst of fire and receive a shameful salvation for eternity? You have to decide while living on earth now. Only way to receive reward is to learn the Word of God and act upon it, that is why you have to know the Word.

            Back to Job 41. Job 41:19-21 (KJV) Out of his mouth (who is he again? The Devil, Leviathan, dragon) go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. Some people ask, where does the Bible say not to smoke? But here we can see the mention of cigarettes. Proverbs 23:31 mentions about alcohol. It says don’t even look at it. Ignorant don’t know because they just don’t read the Bible. There is the earliest mention of smoking tobacco. People don’t think there’s anything in the Bible about smoking. But when people smoke, they take a long drag of smoke up in their lungs. It also creates a bright cigarette ember. That cigarette ember is so bright, soldiers were not allowed to smoke during wartime. Because airplane pilots could see them from high above. All that tobacco smoke ingested through lips, travels through the lungs and finally exhaled through the nostrils. Satan did the same thing. Job 41:20-21 (KJV) Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. In fact, smoking cigarettes was from an old superstitious totem belief, as the indigenous people danced for the, ‘God of this world,’ or as they called him the, ‘Great spirit’. They didn’t know what it was and said ‘Great spirit’ was God. it’s the devil. They worshiped the ‘Great spirit’, who was said to be the god of the world, as written in 2 Corinthians 4:4. It was during their pagan rituals their tradition began with a long pipe. Also know as the peace pipe, a symbol of peace. So you can see that this is derived from superstition, old pagan religion. After all, it was used when worshiping the devil called the ‘Great spirit’, the god of the world. That’s why, unless you’re in Hell, God never wants any of you to smoke. God does not want any of His children to smoke. Even in 1 Corinthians 6, ‘the body is the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells within believers, so how can it be defiled? Whoever defiles the temple God will destroy.’ So, if you look at hell, shown in Revelation 14:11, the smoke of suffering ascends forever and ever. Satan is the maker of that smoke. This is in the Bible. So, the context of this chapter is the image of Satan. We can see the similarities Satan is to breathing in charcoal fire, and blowing smoke out of his nose and mouth compared to a smoker. Let’s go ahead and look at Job 41:33 (KJV) Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. Satan is also a creature, and he is the most powerful among creations. He is the most powerful after God. That is why he tried to contend with God. He was proud. arrogant. Everyone become proud when they are tempted by Satan. That’s his deception. That’s why we are told to pray, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  The Lord said to pray not to fall into Satan’s temptation. Satan’s no hippo. He was made without fear. Some people say Leviathan is a hippo, but a hippos get scared. However, Leviathan did not fear God and rebelled and became Lucifer, the devil, Satan, and the dragon. And there’s no way he’s a whale or a crocodile. Whales and crocodiles get scared. In such ways, Satan hides his true identity and makes people unaware of him. Only then can he seduce people to his heart’s content so that they will not believe in Jesus and become God’s children, leading them all to the end of the tribulation to receive the seal (666) of Antichrist, his incarnation, to ultimately have them fall into hell.

            Everyone must be born again now and today by the Holy Spirit by accepting Jesus Christ and not fall into the tribulation where the antichrist will force all to take his mark (666). All of God’s children who are born again by the Holy Spirit will meet the Lord at His return. We must clearly know this. Some people intimidate others by telling them you must work hard to be raptured, but the Bible says those who are born again have the Holy Spirit will be raptured. You must know this clearly. Why? Because salvation is a gift. The Bible says whosoever believes in the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and was resurrected on the third day will not perish but receive eternal life. You can meet the Lord when you receive eternal life. Everyone who receives eternal life meets the Lord. John 10:10 says the sheep hear the voice of the shepherd. Those who believe in Jesus Christ and become children of God hear the voice of the Shepherd Jesus Christ. Those people recognize that the Scriptures are Him. They have ears to hear. They long for God’s words and always like to meditate on the scriptures. They also Hope in this word. These people are evidence of being born again. Only when there is life inside can we eat the word of life. A person without life cannot eat the word of life. In other words, a child in the mother’s womb cannot drink the milk from the groceries. He can, only after he is born. Once born, anyone can eat regardless of gender, age, rich or poor. The same goes When you are born again by the Holy Spirit. When your spirit is born again, anyone can eat the word of God, and the word is as sweet as the honeycomb, and only that word comforts you. This is the proof of being born again. That is why children of God have evidence within them. 1 John 5:11-12 (KJV) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

There is no wisdom in this monster. Why? Job 28:28 (KJV) And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Meaning this devil has no wisdom. Everything on this earth has been given to the god of the world, the devil, this proud king. That is why even when the devil tempted Jesus, ‘the whole world was handed over to me.’ Jesus said nothing about it. By the law of justice. However, because the Lord has paid for all sins and resurrected, now when He comes to earth, this world that was passed over to the devil will be handed over to the true King Jesus Christ as He will rule. When the Devil Tempted Jesus in the Wilderness, he rudely said, If thou be the Son of God… without even being intimidated in front of God Himself! Also, when the devil went before God and talked about Job, Doth Job fear God for nought?
 We can see how fearless he is. God’s will is to destroy the devil who has the power of sin and death. That’s why Jesus Christ came. Because when the devil is destroyed, the power of sin and death is destroyed, that’s why the Lord took on all of those sins, and when he died, all sins were gone, and when he was resurrected, he overcame death. Therefore, anyone who believes in Jesus Christ will be free from sins, will be justified and receive everlasting life, because Jesus Christ is the only one who overcame death. That’s why you have to accept Jesus Christ to become a child of God. We must understand the meaning of this gospel well through today’s words.

            Let’s continue reading Job 41:27-29. Although it’s Revelation study time, since today’s word is related to the devil in Revelation 12, we are studying Job and Psalms together. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. (Job 41:27-29 KJV) The subject here is Satan. Leviathan, Satan, dragon he goes by many names. Satan disguises himself. The Antichrist is Satan in human form. Christ was God made into a man. Martin Luther, who led the Reformation, was probably the only person who knew and believed that Leviathan in Job 41 was the image of Satan at his time. Because it was the Catholic’s dark ages. You can tell by the hymn lyrics he wrote at that time: For still our ancient foe does seek to work us woe; his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal. Satan is quite powerful. How can we overcome Satan? We have no choice but to put on the whole armor of God and abide in God. That is why those who believe in Jesus are in the Lord. Untouchable. The spirit and soul cannot be messed with. Satan will tempt you carnally. That is why we must resist with the word of God. You must resist them by preaching the gospel with the shield of faith using the Bible. Also, we must cleanse our hearts with the blood of the Lord and put on the breastplate of righteousness. That’s why Lord said, be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. It means Christians should be pure and wise and not engage in useless things. Job 41 describes Satan in detail. We know him as a twisted and coiled serpent-like sea monster with seven heads breathing fire and smoke. We got to see a dragon breathing fire. In fact, this is hard for people to picture and believe. Because they’ve never seen it. We’re all taught from young age ‘a dragon is a dragon, How can that become Satan?’ Brainwashed by this and growing up listening to the knowledge of the world at schools, trusting the teacher’s words, people not only don’t realize and believe the dragon is Satan, But they also don’t believe in the Word of God. However, those who are born again understand the Word of God. We only believe in the words of the Bible. If we actually get to see what the dragon looks like, we’d probably die of a heart attack. He is invisible to our carnal eyes because he is a spiritual being. Therefore, we have seen the true identity of Satan through the Word today. We have read how terrifying Satan is. We cannot overcome the existence of Satan without Jesus Christ. Satan continues to shoot his fiery darts at the saints. He gives you doubts He gets you discouraged. The apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6 to block this with the shield of faith and to pray in the Holy Spirit. Put on the helmet of salvation. When we learn all the words of the truth and put on the belt of truth, if false things come at us, we can quickly get rid of them and become holy by dwelling in the words of the truth to overcome Satan. We can overcome with faith. That is why we are safe because we abide spiritually in the Lord. The trusting heart to Jesus clings, Nor any ill forbodes, But at the cross of Calv’ry sings, Praise God for lifted loads! When to the throne of grace I flee, I find the promise true, The mighty arms upholding me Will bear my burdens too. (The trusting heart to Jesus clings. Hymn455 E.E.Hewitt / W.J. Kirkpatrick) We are in the Lord. That’s why the apostle Paul said in prison, Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4 KJV) Those who believe and are saved are in the Lord. Therefore, when you communicate with the Lord, receive power from the Lord through the Holy Spirit, and become purified, you can live a victorious life while living in this world. It is still not too late. The coming of the Lord is very near. Do not be lazy in studying the Word, and if you do not know it, ask the pastor and continue to understand the Word so that you may live in the hope contained in the Word.
