Have you been peaceful in the Lord over the past week? It’s time to study the words of our Lord which are a blessing when we read, hear, and keep for the time is at hand. May the Holy Spirit, who has come in the name of the Lord, give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, and may the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, so that you can hold on to the eternal hope contained in these words.
Today, we will continue the study of revelation from Chapter 14:7. In verses 6 and 7, we saw an angel flying through the heaven, preaching the everlasting gospel to everyone dwelling on earth, unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. The angel preaches in a loud voice; Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Revelation 14:7 KJV) The Bible says Christians aren’t preaching that gospel, but an angel who preaches the everlasting gospel. In fact, our salvation is the gospel of grace through the Holy Spirit ever since our Lord shed His blood on the cross, died, and was resurrected. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12 KJV) Also the Lord personally said, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV) Then the Apostle Paul preached Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31 KJV) unto the prison guards during his imprisonment. Those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for all our sins, descended and threw all our sins into the depths of hell, ascended and resurrected are born again through the Holy Ghost receiving eternal life, the gospel of grace. However, when the age of tribulation comes, the indwelling Holy Spirit goes to heaven with the church as the age of grace comes to an end. So the angels preach Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: Throughout psalms, King David says The LORD reigneth. The gospel testified at the millennial kingdom will again be: The LORD reigneth. Trust the Lord. God allowed gospel to be testified in Eden and in the days of Noah. Also to Abraham and his descendants through the law, and in the current Age of Grace, the gospel of remission of all sins through the blood of Christ is testified. The Bible says the everlasting gospel of fearing the Lord and serving Him will be preached through an angel, and during the millennial kingdom, The LORD reigneth will be preached before entering the final judgment and eternity. God has said he preaches the gospel to people of all ages and times. Therefore, dear listener if you have not yet accepted the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart before the tribulation arrives, now is the time to be saved and receive grace. After hearing the gospel preached by Philip about Jesus Christ who appeared in Isaiah 53, the Ethiopian eunuch wanted to be baptized, And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest… (Acts 8:37 KJV) When we give unto the Lord, we must put our whole heart into it. then His precious blood flows in and the heart is purified. Peter also testified to the Jews: Believe in salvation by grace in the Lord Jesus Christ, that their hearts are purified through faith.
Let’s continue from (Revelation 14:7 KJV) Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. We should take note, that this here is the message to the Gentiles. Unlike what Solomon said unto the Old Testament Jews in (Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV) Fear God, and keep his commandments: the message here is Fear God, and give glory to him. This is not a message to the Jews, but the Gentiles who will be left during tribulation. God is saying this in order to save even one more person.
(Revelation 14:8 KJV) And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. As mentioned before, just as Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John give four accounts of the First Advent, Revelation gives four accounts of the Second Advent. They are: the Tribulation through seal judgments, the trumpet judgments, the activities of the Antichrist, and the vial judgments all happening simultaneously. Chapters 12 and 13 showcase the appearance of the Antichrist and how he will unite with the devil for global domination. How he will unite everyone globally. How to have them worship him. Four things the antichrist will perform. There is a scene of Babylon falling in chapter 18, but we must realize that the same event occurs here in chapter 14, as this is explained again in chapter 18.
(Revelation 14:9-10 KJV) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: In our day of age of grace, anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him as the Savior will receive salvation and everlasting life. However, since the gospel of grace is no longer valid during the tribulation age, people left behind can believe in Jesus Christ through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit cannot dwell inside, people must endure to the end and keep the commandments. In other words, those left behind must keep and obey the commandments to the end. Therefore, if you receive the mark of the beast prepared by the antichrist, you will ultimately break the commandments and fall away from your faith and fall into hell. That’s why when Jesus spoke to the Jews in Matthew 24, But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Matthew 24:13 KJV) He knew that they would repent at the Lord’s Second Coming. He knew majority of the people would fall into tribulation and die without believing in Jesus Christ. That is why the Lord said those who endured to the end would be saved. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:22 KJV) We know that the tribulation will be 7 years, but we don’t know exactly how long because the Lord said he would shorten the days. It’s up to the Lord. That is why those in the tribulation must endure to the end. But they will end up in hell if they receive the mark of the beast and do not give glory to God. However, in the present age of grace, those who are saved will never lose their salvation because they are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must remember that the Apostle Paul said in (Romans 8:35 KJV) that no one shall separate us from the love of Christ.
(Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV) says For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. This is written to the Hebrews. These are the words of the Lord to the Hebrews who will suffer during the tribulation. If this is preached doctrinally to the people of current Age of Grace, it becomes an erroneous doctrine where ‘salvation can be lost even after accepting Jesus Christ’ thus causing those who hear it live in fear. If you do not believe that everything was accomplished on the cross and that all of your past, present and future sins have been removed, this is the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit and doubting God’s love. The Lord said, After I depart, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will come unto you And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; (John 16:7-9 KJV) Instead of believing Jesus finished everything, but following, ‘You must do good deeds. You must give all your possessions to receive salvation, etc.” is wrong heretical doctrine where salvation is obtained by adding works.
(Revelation 14:11-12 KJV) And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. After the body of Christ is raptured, in other words, after the church, the assembly of saints born again by the Holy Spirit, is caught up to heaven, the Holy Spirit will still work to make people realize their sins in order to save people. They may believe in Jesus during the tribulation, but they are not protected to the end. They are not protected by grace through faith. This is because the Holy Spirit no longer dwells in the body of Christians of this age. That is why, in the age of tribulation, those who believe in Jesus Christ must endure by keeping their faith and the commandments. Those who endure to the end are described as nations of sheep in Matthew 25:30-44 when the Lord comes as the Judge and sits on the throne of glory to judge all nations. The Lord said, Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (Matthew 25:34 KJV) However, those who receive the mark of the beast will fall into the lake of fire at the Second Coming of Lord Jesus Christ. We must remember this fact. Notice the cup of his indignation. This can be seen as the same cup that Jesus Christ did not want to drink in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is the cup of wrath containing the sins of all the world. We do not know how the cup appeared, but we can only picture the Lord praying in the Garden of Gethsemane in heavy sorrow, “must I take this cup?” The Lord had no sin, but He had a weak body like ours, so of course He had no choice but to do so, as He said, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. (Matthew 26:39 KJV) He drank the cup, went to the cross, suffered greatly, and shed His blood. The Bible says this cup is the wine of the wrath of God. Because the Lord has drunk from this cup, those who do not believe in the Lord will have this wine of wrath poured out on them. This is God’s judgment on sin. As mentioned before, Jesus Christ said, let this cup pass from me. He was a sinless God manifested in flesh, but had to drink it on behalf of sinners. This is the cup of fury mentioned in Jeremiah 25:15. Because the Lord drank the cup of wrath intended to be poured out on all nations, their wrath have already gone to the Lord for those who believe in Jesus Christ. The Lord has received it instead. That’s why believers no longer receive the wrath. What a great blessing this is. However, for the unsaved who have gone into the age of tribulation, who receive the cup of God’s wrath…he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (Revelation 14:10b-11 KJV) suffering the punishment of hell. This is one of the New Testament passages that describes the eternal punishment of the unsaved in hell. Indeed, one of the tragedies of this generation is the disappearance of preaching on hellfire from the pulpit. At the end of the 19th century, when Pastor Jonathan Edwards was preaching about hellfire, God gave people a vision of hellfire during worship, where unbelievers clung to pillars and screamed to avoid falling into hell. Unbelievers can only be saved by preaching like this from the pulpit, but it has become a very tragic generation that is conscious of hurting feelings and does not preach hellfire or sin. Here in America, people say ‘it was a very good sermon’ after the sermon is over. In fact, The Word of God is a sword. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV) We know that the true prophets were persecuted tremendously and killed when not to believe in the words of the false prophets of the Old Testament times claiming ‘peace and safety’. Even the Apostles’ Creed, which is recited in church on Sundays, omits that Christ descended into hell. Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, liberals, communists, and modern day unbelieving Jews believe there is no hell. Even the best versions of the Bible that conservatives have revamped, such as the Amplified Version and the American Standard Version, and the Bibles that have been refurbished by the Roman Catholics reject the word hell. Remember the word Hades? It’s Greek word for hell, but it’s just transliterated as Hades. Also, in book of Jonah, there is a scene where Jonah prays in Sheol. This Sheol is hell in Hebrew, but the word hell is covered because it is transliterated with the word Sheol rather than translated as hell. All the “better” revised Bibles are that way. Only the King James Bible has a translation that clearly says hell. Then there is a Greek word for Heaven, Ouranos. Heaven was translated as heaven, but why was Hades not translated as hell? This is the work of Satan. Satan blinded people so they would not believe in hell, and he has given power to denominations and cults denying existence of hell. So with the wrong Bible, many people lead a life of skewed faith. Pastor Song met a lot of Jehovah’s Witnesses while street preaching in Mexico. Whenever he met them, he ask them to bring a Bible, and he testified verse by verse about Jesus Christ and hell with the Spanish Bible translated from our King James Bible. In particular, when John 3:16 is preached, the message that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, he saw a small number of Jehovah’s Witnesses accepting Jesus Christ. He remembers giving glory to God when a friend of the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to that house, listened to their words, and accepted Jesus Christ with tears in his eyes. Therefore, it is very sad in these end times. The word hell and the word to repent of sins has disappeared from the pulpit. However, just as John the Baptist testified of the First Coming of Jesus, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matthew 3:2 KJV) at that time, now we must testify of the Second Coming of Jesus as the Lord of judgment. We must warn them they will fall into hell if they do not believe and we must deliver the message that the kingdom of God is near. Jesus came as the King of the Jews in the days of John the baptist. However, we must tell them to repent for, not only is Jesus coming as the king of Jews but as the king and savior of the entire world. Even back then, Pharisees and many unbelievers came to John. He rebuked them: ¶ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. (Matthew 3:7-9 KJV) There are people who pretend to repent when they don’t. The Lord knows this and turns to them And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (Matthew 3:10 KJV) Now is the time to gather good fruit. This message being broadcast is also bringing forth good fruit. Remember that by testifying that the Lord is coming, you are gathering good fruits that awaits the Lord’s coming. Rather than just going back and forth to church, We need to tell others about it and deliver the good news to the brides who are truly waiting for the coming of the Lord and to those who are waiting for the blessed hope, who have come out of the world and are now completely living in the truth. A survey was performed regarding the modern trend of apostasy, by a professor at Northwestern University. According to that survey of pastors who did not believe in the existence of hell, 96% of the congregational churches do not believe. It wasn’t like that in the past of course. 30% of Lutherans, 96% of Anglicans, 86% of Presbyterians, 92% of Methodists, and 50% of Baptist pastors do not believe in a literal hell.
What a miserable story. What will happen to those who listen to their sermons? The Lord said that the blind lead the blind, and they cross mountains and waters to gain one proselyte, gain one convert, they will be doubled as children of hell. At that time, the Pharisees said Lord! Lord! These are the words of the Lord to the Pharisees who sought God only in words, but did not recognize the incarnated God and killed Him. Same goes for today. The Holy Spirit has come to this earth. People who do not know God the Holy Spirit claim to believe in Jesus just by saying “Lord Lord” is not right. Therefore, in these last days, people do not believe in the existence of hell and live out their lives as they wish. That is why it is heartbreaking to see many people go to church but are not born again, do not have true faith, and then fall into hell. Jesus told the Jews…how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! (Matthew 23:37 KJV) The women of Jerusalem wept as the Lord fell and fell while carrying the cross. But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. (Luke 23:28 KJV) Most preachers don’t talk about hell anymore because they don’t believe in it, and what they don’t believe is because they’re headed for hell too. But we saw in the New Testament that hell is a place where the fire actually burns that is not quenched, and the sinners who are burned there are not consumed because they have a soulish body instead of a physical one.
We’ll finish with related verses throughout the Bible. (Revelation 19:20 KJV) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelation 20:10 KJV) And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 21:8 KJV) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Then spoken personally by the Lord Himself, And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 25:30 KJV) Let’s see if hell is really the grave as the Jehovah’s Witnesses say. They call hell the grave, Hades. (Jude 13 KJV) Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. (Matthew 25:41 KJV) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: If hell is the grave as the Jehovah’s Witnesses say, then how can the term eternal fire come about? I’ve never seen a grave burn. John 3:16, whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Then in (Matthew 25:46 KJV) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Daniel 12:2 KJV) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. If, as the Jehovah Witnesses say, hell is the grave, born-again Christians, those who died early go to the grave go to hell because the Lord has not come. How ridiculous would that be? If the grave is hell, then when dogs, cats, birds, bats, various animals, and other foreign religions die wouldn’t they go to hell because they go to the grave? However, they get angry if you tell them that they are going to hell. (Luke 12:4-5 KJV) And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. He has the power to cast you into hell. The body goes to the grave, but the soul goes to hell. Weeping and gnashing of teeth in hell, but not in the grave. Even if you dig a grave, you won’t be able to see a burning furnace. (Matthew 13:42 KJV) And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. The furnace of fire is not a parable. Matthew 13:36 and 40 is about the parable of the tares. It appears also in (Matthew 3:11-12 KJV)he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: This fire is the hellfire. To those who believe, the Holy Spirit is given, and to those who do not believe, fire is given. You must know these words. We’ll end here today and continue next time. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be filled with grace and peace throughout the week. Amen.
